Bon Dia Aruba: Baseless Accusations against and about Gerold Dompig could end up in Court

One has to know to separate facts and stop dragging people in without a basis to do so Baseless accusations against and about Gerold Dompig could end up in court The Commissioner has involved his lawyer to take steps if necessary (Bon Dia Aruba; April 20, 2006) Dompig BD

Ex-lead investigator Gerold Dompig finds himself in the very position that he placed others in himself and now he complains? Gerold Dompig might have taken his own advice on numerous occasions along the way in the Natalee Holloway investigation.

Dompig indicated that one has to stop insinuating things that are not true. If any person has any information that he believes is not right, he has to take the legal steps for an investigation to take place and not bring in people’s names in newspapers as they see fit, because this causes harm to the family unnecessarily.

Maybe Dompig could have thought of such a concept prior to his Vanity Fair article or CBS 48 Hours interview where without any evidence stated that Natalee Holloway was not murdered but instead died of an accidental overdose cause by her own doing. Dompig slanders Natalee Holloway with a baseless accusation as to her death, yet now is upset that his son Michael-anthony Dompig is off limits. Even though Dompig’s son Michael worked with GVC on the Visibility Team. There would be no reason to question that possible link, especially in how this investigation has been handled. Anyone who did not pursue and question such a potential link would have been derelict in their duties.

Amigoe: Dompig resigned voluntarily (Natalee Holloway Investigation)

Amigoe; April 12, 2006: Dompig resigned voluntarily

ARUBA — The Strategic Communication Task Force indicated that Gerold Dompig voluntarily resigned his post as managing the investigation on the disappeared Natalee Holloway. The Public Prosecutor mentioned that the Dutch investigation team has not found anything in the Holloway-case. The team is meanwhile back in the Netherlands.

The Task Force says that Dompig’s decision to resign was a combination of factors. One of them was the media’s criticism in the Netherlands, Aruba, and the United States on the statements he made about the progress of the investigation. And, even more important, the case is now entering a critical, analytic phase, which is especially the expertise of Dompig’s substitute Dolfi Richardson. Dompig stays with the Corps and will continue providing Richardson with advice on the case.

The search of the Dutch specialists was unsuccessful. They used dead body search dogs, ground radar, and metal detectors to find Holloway’s body. The police together with analysts and under leadership of Richardson are reviewing the whole case. The investigation on the missing Holloway continues.
