Dave Holloway Responds to Letter To Governor Riley regarding the Natalee Holloway Investigation
Dave Holloway appeared on Scarborough Country, November 7, 2005 to discuss the recent letter that was sent to AL Governor Bob Riley from The Aruban Department of Foreign Affairs.
“The chief prosecutor leading the investigation and the General Prosecutor are appointed by the Kingdom Government in the Hague. Because of separation of powers, the government of Aruba has no authority to intervene in the investigation.”

It appears now that the Aruban investigators and government after five months are pointing the family across the seas to Holland. One would think they maybe this could have been done sooner. As Dave Holloway stated,
Well, that’s really unbelievable that they take the wash their hands approach.
We’re going to proceed on with The Hague, I guess. Also, our six page letter we were asked to provide to the Attorney General and we provided a carbon copy to the PM and Condoleezza Rice. We have not heard a response to that letter yet.
Well, that seems to be the case. We’ve been running around in circles for five months now. When we reduce it down to writing, they put it back in writing and it’s obvious they are pointing the finger somewhere else now.
This is a rather interesting turn of events as it relates to Dave Holloway. Dave had previously stated that he was the last of the hold outs for the investigators to do the right thing. Dave Holloway is a patient man and was willing for the ALE and prosecutors to take their time and come up with a sound and complete case against the suspects in the disappearance of his daughter Natalee. Everyone and I mean everyone respected and sided with Dave Holloway for his calm and rational approach to finding clues, leads and formulating a case in Natalee’s disappearance. Those that bashed Beth Twitty sided with Dave whether they were in America, Aruba or elsewhere. The thought does come to mind, what do these people say now? The calm, cool, practical and patient Dave Holloway has been obviously pushed to the point where even he cannot remain patient or confident in how he sees the case being handled by Aruban authorities. Do those same people who agreed with Dave’s patient approach when it differed slightly from how Beth Twitty handled matters still side with Dave? Or did they only side with Dave because he differed from Beth looking to divide and conquer?
Take a look and see how the once patient Dave Holloway have to say regarding the present affair of the investigation.
Well, that seems to be the case. We’ve been running around in circles for five months now. When we reduce it down to writing, they put it back in writing and it’s obvious they are pointing the finger somewhere else now.
Mind you, the minister of justice had mentioned about a month ago that he felt like this would … just leave it alone and it will go away. So we know what his approach is now.
Well, he’s attacked Beth in some sense by putting out on the island that she might be involved somehow in Natalee’s disappearance and making money off of it. So it looks to me that he’s trying to incite anti Beth sentiment across the country of Aruba.
If anyone truly wants to see just how frustrated and infuriated the Aruban authorities have managed to make Dave Holloway one only needs to see how Dave responded to the boycott question from Joe Scarborough.
Dave: Well, the people of Aruba have elected their officials and their officials have spoken. We have elected officials and we’ll let our elected officials speak.
Joe: Will you make any requests of the elected officials to possibly move forward with a boycott of Aruba?
Dave: Well, again Joe, we elect our officials and they decide what is necessary for the people. Whatever the governor decides, that’s what we’ll do.
I think we can all read through the lines to see just where Dave Holloway was going with his answers.

Dave Holloway Seemingly losing his Patience with the Natalee Holloway Investigation
Dave Holloway goes “On The Record” with Greta Van Susteren November 4, 2005. It appears that even Dave Holloway has his patience limit. Appears that Dave Holloway may have been pushed over the line by the Aruban prosecutors and investigators.
Greta: Tonight Natalee Holloway’s parents and step parents are furious with the way her case is being handled in Aruba. They are demanding big, big changes. Natalee’s father Dave joins us live from Meridian MS.
Greta: Dave, the letter sent to the Aruba Attorney General dated Nov 1st asking for the removal of the prosecutor and lead detectives…have you heard a response to that letter.
Dave: We did receive a response late this afternoon. That response was directed to Alabama Governor Bob Riley. He faxed it on to me and the basic content of it was this.
We are still waiting on the Attorney General to respond. The Dept. of Foreign Affairs which is the government of Aruba basically indicated that the lead investigator, the police department and the prosecution team is supervised out of Holland in The Hague and that they have no authority to intervene in the investigation.Greta: So basically pass the buck and try to dodge the bullet.
Dave: Exactly.
Greta: Let me talk a little bit about the letter. One of the things that made me almost fall out of my chair when I read the letter is that around June 1st when you arrived after being notified that your daughter was missing is that you went around the island including the police station talking to a detective Dennis Jacobs. When you went in there to see him he made a remark asking you when you’re looking for your daughter if you have any money. Tell me the facts surrounding this discussion.
Dave: Well, when we first arrived on the island we rented a car. We stopped at two different police stations and explained the situation. I explained that I am the father of Natalee Holloway and she is missing. The first comment was would you like to file a complaint? Finally after talking to several officers in those two police departments, they indicated they were not aware of any disappearance and not aware of any complaint. So the directed me to the Noord police station which supervises the area around the Holiday Inn. When I arrived at that police station, the detective knew I was coming and I was frantic as you can imagine a parent being who has their daughter missing. I walked up to the front desk accompanied by my brother and brother in law.
I identified myself as the father of Natalee Holloway and Jacobs got up from his chair and grumbled “Well, how much money you got?” We were just stunned and everyone finally came together and we met in the back room He basically told us “Aw, this happens all the time, go down to C&C and have a beer and just wait on her and she’ll show up.” We questioned his tactics and wanted to know if a search was being conducted. He just looked at us and said “Why would you want to do that?” “Think positive, you’re thinking negative.” I said well the first few days are the most critical.
He indicated to us you are on the wrong page and you need to go search a drug house or whatever. And then he made the comment that “Look, I need to get with you guys. There have been some reports that some of Jugs friends have been busting up in some of these crack houses.” I was again floored. I thought how do you know about crack houses and who’s up in them, but you are not even aware someone is missing? You know, give me a break.Greta: Dave, did you get the sense that his remark about money was a very bad joke or that he wanted money from you to pursue the investigation?

Beth Twitty Rebukes Dompigs Assessment that She came to Aruba With a Film Crew
Deputy Police Chief Gerold Dompig had made the following comment in an interview with MSNBC Dan Abrams along with some other strangely worded comments.
DOMPIG: Well, again, Mrs. Twitty is in Aruba with a film crew and a large film crew and I don’t know what the agenda is there. But we need her to make a statement claiming that we altered her statement in the past. So I offered her a chance to come in for a new statement and we’re still waiting.
DOMPIG: We—no. No, there’s no dispute. We set the rules. We invite first people to come in to—for statements and it’s not the other way around.
ABRAMS: Yes, but she’s also the victim’s mother. I mean you have to have a responsibility to keep her updated, no?
DOMPIG: Of course, but I insist that we—I need to—her to make her statement first and on the base of that, discuss with the prosecutor, what a meeting would be like with her afterwards. But we need her to come in for a statement first.
Beth Twitty discusses with Amigoe, November 4, 2005; Beth Twitty: ‘No film crew; that’s a fabrication’ what really happened when she came back to Aruba to find answers to her missing daughter Natalee Holloway.
ARUBA — “Absolutely nonsense”, is Beth Twitty’s reaction on the news reports about her being accompanied by a film crew of Paramount Pictures or other media during her stay in Aruba. She arrived in Aruba earlier this week accompanied by her girlfriend Carol.

Dave Holloway; “I was one of the last holdouts”. (Natalee Holloway Investigation)
Dave Holloway provides some frank and stern words for the investigators or prosecution in Aruba who have been in charge of the Natalee Holloway disappearance. It has been pointed out is the past that Dave Holloway was a patient man; however, that did not mean that he did not expect sincere and serious efforts be made in the investigation of his missing daughter Natalee Holloway. One should never confuse patience with tolerance. Aruba and Aruban officials may just beginning to find this out. During last nights interview with Dan Abrams on The Abrams Report October 2, 2005, Dave Holloway showed a side not often seen.
The result being a cumulative effort with both Dave Holloway and Beth Twitty coming together and jointly signing a letter to Aruban officials. Dave Holloway has always been looked upon by many during this five month investigation as the more calm one and the pillar of reason by not only Americans but Arubans as well. Make no mistake about it though, Dave Holloway is after the same result as Beth Twitty is, finding Natalee. Is it any wonder with recent events in Aruba where there appeared to be cooperation and communication between the ALE, Natalee’s family and the searchers that Dave Holloway would even lose his patience when all that looked good had gone south almost overnight? As Dave Holloway stated.
I was one of the last holdouts. I think Beth had been pushing for this for some time. And I went back to the island, hoping to make one last push to get everybody together, hold some solid communications and move forward with the case. And there at the end I thought we were coming close and starting to gel and to move this forward, and suddenly it just fell apart.
More from the Dave Holloway interview where even a patient man has his limit. Many have said and felt that during this terrible, emotional ordeal of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway that Dave Holloway was the “voice of calm and reason.” By all accounts he has conducted himself in an overly cautious manner giving Aruban officials more than every opportunity to do the right thing. Even ArubaTruth has made favorable comments toward Dave Holloway when he stated he was against a boycott of Aruba. We had said a long time ago that when it comes to Dave Holloway, do not confuse patience with a tolerance of the situation. Being patient does not mean that one does not expect results. Being patient means just the opposite. It means one is willing to take the time to have others get it right.
Aruban officials has now backed itself into a serious corner. Dave, who has given them every benefit of the doubt and has integrity beyond reproach, now seriously doubts the actions of the Aruban investigators. When Dave Holloway doubts the situation so will many people who have respected his approach throughout this nightmare ordeal. For all the cooperation and communication to have dissolved what appeared to be overnight is most frustrating, even more so, to a patient man who gave every opportunity to those in charge to get it right. A patience that looks like it has finally been pushed to its limit.
HOLLOWAY: Yes, it would be. I was one of the ones who held out, hoping that the police would come together and complete their investigation, and it just finally got to the point where “you know we’ve got tunnel vision and a lot of peripheral issues started coming up, and you know why aren’t we focusing back on the three suspects? Why are we talking about issues that don’t even involve the case? And that’s where I started getting frustrated and I felt like you know it’s time, it’s the fourth quarter, and time’s almost up. Why don’t we just start all over and start out with a whole new fresh team?
More from the Abrams Report and a not so pleased Dave Holloway who has even his limits when it comes to patience.
ABRAMS: Hi everyone. First up on the docket tonight, there is a war of words unraveling in Aruba. Natalee Holloway’s divorced parents who up to now have been proceeding separately, sign a letter. Here it is. You see Dave Holloway, Robin Holloway, Beth Twitty, Jug Twitty, all signing this letter in agreement with what is in this six-page document. They are demanding that Aruba’s attorney general pull the team investigating Natalee’s disappearance.
Quote:It has become increasingly difficult to hold our tongues. It is our contention that it is in the best interest of everyone concerned to instigate a fresh start in this case. We respectfully request that Dennis Jacobs, Karin Janssen, and Gerold Dompig be removed from the case.
