ARUBA — Last Saturday, the police has arrested the 19-year old Geoffrey van Cromvoirt in the case of the American student Natalee Holloway, who disappeared while vacationing in Aruba. Van Cromvoirt was taken before the examining magistrate today, but at the time this newspaper went to press, it was not known yet whether his detention was extended.

The recent arrest in Aruba of GVC has even took the parents of Natalee Holloway by surprise. They were unaware of the name prior to him being taken into custody. What has been a consistent problem in the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway is trying to separate the rumor from reality. The information coming out about GVC and any ties to Natalee are no different.

With so many rumors and theories coming out of Aruba, including one that places Natalee Holloway and Gottfried Van Cromvoirt near each other the night Holloway disappeared, Holloway’s parents spoke out on Tuesday to try to clarify the specifics.

Holloway’s father, Dave Holloway, has hired an attorney to help the family try to separate fact from rumor after almost 11 months of trying to unravel the mystery of her disappearance.

Natalee Holloway Disappearance: Geoffrey van Cromvoirt (GVC) Also Held on Suspicion of Dealing Illegal Drugs

In an investigation and prosecution that has already had one too many twists and turns. Prosecutors in Aruba state that Geoffrey van Cromvoirt is also being held in connection with the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, is also suspected of dealing drugs.

Today’s court appearance is the first for the Dutch man since his arrest as a suspect in the Alabama teen’s case.

A statement from prosecutors says he’s “suspected of criminal offenses that may be related to the disappearance” of Holloway, and also “of offenses related to dealing in illegal narcotics.”

Geoffrey van Cromvoirt to be Held for 8 Days in Connection with Natalee Holloway Disappearance

Karen Janssen will present her dossier (witness statements) to the first judge of impression from Curacao on Tuesday in regards to holding Geoffrey van Cromvoirt in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

(CNN) — A man arrested in connection with Natalee Holloway’s 2005 disappearance has been ordered to remain in custody for another eight days, authorities on the Caribbean island of Aruba announced Monday.

The 19-year-old man was arrested Sunday. He is scheduled to appear Tuesday before a judge, Aruban prosecutors said in a written statement.
