Sen Rand Paul (R-KY): “I Don’t Promote Marijuana … Last Two Presidents [Obama/GWB] Could Have Been Jailed For Their Drug Use” … Don’t Forget Bill Clinton

This morning on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) weighed in on recreational drug use in today’s society and the penalties for being convicted. Paul stated that he did not promote the use of drugs, even marijuana; however, he also thought that the penalties were far too severe. Paul is not for the legalization of drugs, but also not to incarcerate individuals for long period of times for non-violent crimes. He does not want to put people in jail and ruin their lives.  Rand Paul went on to say that the last two presidents  [Obama, GWB]could have been jailed for their drug use. Wallace was quick to jump in and correct the Kentucky Senator by saying, probably the last three presidents, although Bill Clinton claims he did not inhale (VIDEO).

The Politico:

Sen. Rand Paul said Sunday that President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush could have “conceivably been put in jail” for their drug use, ruining their lives and impacting their getting elected to office.

“Look, the last two presidents could have conceivably been put in jail for their drug use and I really think – look what would’ve happened, it would’ve ruined their lives. They got lucky. But a lot of poor kids, particularly in the inner city, don’t get lucky and they don’t have good attorneys and they go to jail for some of these things and I think it’s a big mistake,” the Kentucky Republican said on Fox’s “Fox News Sunday.”

“Actually, I think it would be the last three presidents, but who’s counting?” host Chris Wallace said with a laugh, referring to former President Bill Clinton.

BREAKING NEWS: Venezuela President Hugo Chavez, Dead at Age 58 (Update: Sean Penn Says … “I Lost a Friend”), (Update: Carter Praises Positive Legacies)

BREAKING NEWS: Venezuela President Hugo Chavez, Dead at Age 58.

Hugo Chavez will not be down for breakfast. The socialist dictator of Venezuela has passed away from cancer. Make room Kim Jung Il, Hell has a new resident. After numerous claims that Chavez was recovering from cancer from his propaganda machine, Chavez succumbed to complication of cancer. His death leaves Venezuela bitterly divided.  But isn’t that exactly what a dictator does while in power, divides the people so that they are too busy fighting each other and blaming eash other, than focusing on the real problem, the man in power. Doesn’t that sound familiar, but I digress.  Chavez, a devoted enemy of the United States, was praised by his bud, former Democrat President of the United States Jimmy Carter.  How misguided could one possibly be and a glimpse into what Democrat presidents believe in and call help to the people. Other Democrats like Rep. Jose E. Serrano (D-NY) released a statement praising former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez; however, neglecting the crackdowns of his political opponents. A glimpse into the Democrat party indeed.  According to accounts, elections will be held in 30 days, and Vice President Nicolas Maduro will assume the presidency in the interim.

UPDATE I: As reported by the AP:

We came to know a man who expressed a vision to bring profound changes to his country to benefit especially those people who had felt neglected and marginalized,” Carter said in a statement.

Carter noted that while he did not always agree with Chavez‘s methods, he “never doubted Hugo Chávez’s commitment to improving the lives of millions of his fellow countrymen,” and said that the former Venezuelan president “will be remembered for his bold assertion of autonomy and independence for Latin American governments and for his formidable communication skills and personal connection with supporters in his country and abroad to whom he gave hope and empowerment.”

President Hugo Chavez was a former paratroop commander and self-styled “subversive” who waged continual battle for his socialist ideals. He bedeviled the United States and outsmarted his rivals time and again, while using Venezuela’s vast oil wealth to his political advantage.

Chavez led one coup attempt, defeated another and was re-elected three times. Almost the only adversary it seemed he couldn’t beat was cancer. He died Tuesday in Caracas at age 58, two years after he was first diagnosed.

UPDATE II:  Hollywood whacko Sean Penn on Hugo Chavez’s Death: ‘I Lost a Friend’.

Hmm, didn’t insanoid, former NBA bad boy and attention whore Dennis Rodman call the socialist dictator of North Korea Kim Jung Un a friend as well? Oh yeah, another enemy of the United States.

“Today the people of the United States lost a friend it never knew it had. And poor people around the world lost a champion,” says Penn in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “I lost a friend I was blessed to have. My thoughts are with the family of President Chavez and the people of Venezuela.”

Penn, who has been a longtime supporter of Chavez, made a surprise appearance in Bolivia in December to attend a candlelight vigil for the health of the leader. Said Penn at the vigil: “He’s one of the most important forces we’ve had on this planet, and I’ll wish him nothing but that great strength he has shown over and over again. I do it in love, and I do it in gratitude.”

Take a good look how people are treated by pro-Chavez folks who are perceived being apart of the opposition. A news media crew is attacked under the assumption they were working for the opposition media to Chavez.

UPDATE III: More on the statements from former US President Jimmy Carter because this is really important for Americans to understand about a Democrat party that has so lost its way.  How is it possible that we have such prominent Democrats coddling a man who oppressed his people? These are the same people that slam Conservatives, Republicans and the Tea Party … but praise the good of a dictator. As the Gateway Pundit opines, Carter wants you to remember the positive things that Chavez did. Hmm, didn’t Hitler make the trains run on time?  Think about that America. Give that one a long good thought. Especially the next time you vote.

Statement From Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter on the Death of Hugo Chavez – Carter Center

Rosalynn and I extend our condolences to the family of Hugo Chávez Frías.  We met Hugo Chávez when he was campaigning for president in 1998 and The Carter Center was invited to observe elections for the first time in Venezuela.  We returned often, for the 2000 elections, and then to facilitate dialogue during the political conflict of 2002-2004.  We came to know a man who expressed a vision to bring profound changes to his country to benefit especially those people who had felt neglected and marginalized.  Although we have not agreed with all of the methods followed by his government, we have never doubted Hugo Chávez’s commitment to improving the lives of millions of his fellow countrymen.[...]

At the same time, we recognize the divisions created in the drive towards change in Venezuela and the need for national healing.  We hope that as Venezuelans mourn the passing of President Chávez and recall his positive legacies — especially the gains made for the poor and vulnerable — the political leaders will move the country forward by building a new consensus that ensures equal opportunities for all Venezuelans to participate in every aspect of national life.

UNREAL!!!

Legendary Journalist Bob Woodward Calls Out Obama For Sequestration … “That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time” (Video)

File this one under the category when someone in the main stream media actually does their job and holds a president accountable no matter what his party affiliation.

Legendary journalist Bob Woodward of “Watergate” fame is calling out President Barack Obama as the deadline for  sequestration nears. As the Obama White House uses scare tactics instead of leadership telling Americans that all things will cease to exist, families will suffer, children will go hungry and the sun will not come up tomorrow … Bob Woodward calls out Obama and likens his actions to madness. Woodward blasted President Obama for playing politics with sequestration and putting the United States at national security rick.

It’s one think for Republicans or conservative media to say that Obama is showing a failure to lead, but then one of the journalistic lions like Bob Woodward says it … everyone takes notice and listens.

 Transcript from Real Clear Politics:

Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying ‘Oh, by the way, I can’t do this because of some budget document?’ Or George W. Bush saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to invade Iraq because I can’t get the aircraft carriers I need’ or even Bill Clinton saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to attack Saddam Hussein’s intelligence headquarters,’ as he did when Clinton was president because of some budget document? Under the Constitution, the president is commander-in-chief and employs the force. And so we now have the president going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement, I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country. That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time.

It certainly is madness. Yes, just imagine how the liberal MSM would be reporting this story if Reagan or either of the Bush presidents has done the same and put party politics over country?

This is going to leave a mark against Obama. Bob Woodward is a respected journalist and it is going to be fool hearty for Obama and his minion to tarnish Woodward’s image. Although they will certainly try.

President Barack Obama Averaged 49.1% Job Approval During First Term in Office, Among the Lowest of Post World War II Presidents

Second Term Mandate … Hardly.

According to Gallup, President Barack Hussein Obama’s job approval during his first term in office was among the lowest of ant of the post-World War II presidents. His average of 49.1% during his first term  and 48.1% during his final year of his first term is only above Jimmy Carter and George H.G. Bush. However, these two individuals lost reelection. With a consistent high unemployment rate, record number of individuals on food stamps, near record low job participation and record debt, it makes one scratch their heads how GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney did not defeat Obama

One really has to wonder just how low Barack Obama’s job approval ratings would be if he did not have the liberal MSM carrying his water and opening supporting and campaigning for him. How would the American people feel about Barack Obama if they did not have a lying and complicit propagandist media running cover for him? It explains how such an epic failure of a president was reelected. Which begs the questions, had it not been for the corrupt liberal media complex, would a lazy and apathetic America still voted him in for a second term or would they still have bought into Obama’s divisiveness and class warfare?

President Barack Obama averaged 49.1% job approval during his first term in office, among the lowest for post-World War II presidents. Only Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford had lower job approval averages. Obama’s first-term average is most similar to Bill Clinton’s. Lyndon Johnson, John Kennedy, and Dwight Eisenhower were the most popular first-term presidents.

Obama’s first-term approval average, like those of most presidents with lower first-term averages, was likely dragged down by a sluggish economy. Clinton and Reagan saw higher second-term approval as the economy improved. Obama’s approval rating has also shown improvement, with a 48.1% average in his fourth year in office after a 44.4% average in his third year.

Former Democrat President Bill Clinton Warns Democrats Not to ‘Patronize’ and Trivialize Gun Owners

Will President Barack Obama take Bill Clinton’s advice not to patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose at them?

Many Democrats consider former President the voice of reason and the elder statesman of their party. Even with his sordid past and numerous moral indiscretions, Bill Clinton is considered the wild card of the party and the reason why Barack Obama won reelection. During the 2012 Democrat national convention Clinton stated that not even he could have fixed the economy that Obama inherited, which of course was a bold face lie, but in doing so paved the way for an Obama victory. Now the voice of the Democrat party Bill Clinton is warning Democrats not to underestimate the passions that gun control stirs among Americans. Clinton told Democrats not to trivialize them and “Do not patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose at them.”

Former President Bill Clinton warned a group of top Democratic donors at a private Saturday meeting not to underestimate the passions that gun control stirs among many Americans.

“Do not patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose at them,” Clinton said.

“A lot of these people live in a world very different from the world lived in by the people proposing these things,” Clinton said. “I know because I come from this world.”

Clinton dedicated a substantial portion of his 40-minute address before a joint meeting of the Obama National Finance Committee and a group of business leaders to the issue of guns and gun control, saying that it was a test-case for President Barack Obama’s grass-roots movements. (POLITICO was given a transferable ticket by an invited member of the committee.)

But it is hard to imagine that Obama and Democrats will not act in a smug and arrogant manner when it comes to gun control. President Obama is a “community agitator” and divider, not one who governs  by consensus. They cared little of the American people when it came to Obamacare when they rammed the government control of health care down “We the People’s” throats. Then they saw that instead of being punished for their behavior, they were reelected. Barack Obama has already stated when it comes to the gun owner, they “cling to their guns and religion”. One can only imagine how understanding he will be of them after reelection and his efforts to push forth his liberal, anti-Second Amendment agenda. But as the PJ Tatler stated, “if there is one issue that can cut through party and even ideology, it is gun control and the passions that are raised when government feels it has the power to infringe on the rights of gun owners.”

Who said that Clinton stands with the president? In his closing remarks Bill Clinton seemed to be urging Democratic lawmakers to vote against the president:

Clinton closed his remarks with a warning to big Democratic donors that ultimately many Democratic lawmakers will be defeated if they choose to stand with the president.

“Do not be self-congratulatory about how brave you for being for this” gun control push, he said. “The only brave people are the people who are going to lose their jobs if they vote with you.”
