New Obama Political Tone … Minority Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi Says GOP Speaker Boehner Went to the Dark Side
This must be more of that new tone in Washington DC that Barack Obama has been talking about.
In yet another example of that Obama new tone “Inside the Beltway,” House Democrat Minority leader Nancy Pelosi states that GOP House Speaker John Boehner has gone to the “Dark Side”. Such comments will do wonders for getting an agreement in the debt ceiling debate.Rather interesting comments coming from the Sith Lord or is it the Wicked Witch of the West, Pelosi. Once again the Democrats bring out their old tired playbook, when losing the debate and being forced to give up liberal principles like raising taxes, hurl personal insults instead.
Right before the House voted to reject a Democratic debt-ceiling plan, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi didn’t mince words.
Pelosi pulled out a Star Wars reference on the House floor, saying that Speaker John Boehner “chose to go to the dark side” and court the most conservative members of his conference, rather than work on a bipartisan compromise.
“It’s time for us to end this theater of the absurd,” she said. “It’s time for us to get real.”

Response to Obama’s Debt Limit Campaign Speech … Charles Krauthammer: “I Thought I Was Cynical Until I Heard Obama’s Speech”
The Barack Obama debt ceiling speech … At a time when leadership should have been the call of the day, instead President Obama used the prime time audience to do a political speech blaming others as the buck stops elsewhere.
So what was the reaction to Obama’s speech? It was purely partisan and meant as a campaign speech pandering to Independents with poll tested buzz words like balanced approach, compromise and even going so far as to make a comparison to Ronald Reagan. Charles Krauthammer went so far to say, I thought I was cynical until I heard that speech.” Do we really need a President who is going to make a prime time speech and just use poll tested words to pander and beg for support to a plan he does not even have?
Charles Krauthammer Nails Obama on what was a terrible, partisan speech
VIDEO Hat Tip: The Gateway Pundit
How comical and pathetic is it that Obama would say that Americans should not be made collateral damage when that is exactly what the Obama Administration has done for the last 2+ years.
Everyone, including those Independents who Obama was pandering to last night need to remember one little factoid, Obama originally wanted a clean debt limit increase with nothing attached. In other words, he wanted a blank check with no mention or caring for any decrease in the United State’s debt. That was reminded to all during Speaker Boehner’s rebuttal speech last night as he stated, “that ain’t going to happen”. The results of last nights competing speeches … BOEHNER 2 – OBAMA 0.
In the end, the debt limit debate will be decided by the American people in 2012.

Same Old Tired Obama Failed Talk … Barack Obama Blames Bush, Wars, Tax Cuts and Those Pesky Corporate Jets for Debt Problems
BARACK OBAMA … THE DIVIDER IN CHIEF. WHAT A SMALL, LITTLE MAN.
Prior to President Obama’s speech I was going to write a cynical post that said the following, why should anyone listen to Obama regarding the debt ceiling debate? He is just going to saying the same old, same old of blaming GWB and playing class warfare. But that would have been cynical.
GUESS WHAT … I was correct. Here is a synopsis pf Obama’s speech … GWB is to blame for the debt, blah, blah, blah, rich people are evil and need to have more of their tax money taken away even though 40-50% of Americans pay no taxes and have no skin in the game … blah, blah, blah … I am just like Ronald Regan … blah. blah. blah. Dude, first of all you are no Ronald Reagan. Second, how can this President not take any of the blame for the out of control spending and debt?
Here is the TEXT of Obama’s actual speech.
As the President repeatedly said the “B” word, balanced, as it was obviously poll tested as being worthy of being said 7+ times in an all but partisan and pandering speech. This was only outdone by Obama continually using the “C” word. Obama stated, “Americans are most fed up with a town where compromise has become a dirty word.”
But wait … BALANCED? Did Obama just say that anything but a balanced approach was a Republican Congress and Tea Party thing? REALLY? Has Barack Obama been paying attention or was this speech written the other day? Is Obama saying that Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s proposal is garbage as well? Reid’s plan was all cuts and no tax increases. I guess Obama thinks Reid is a Tea Party member as well. Why would Obama support Reid’s plan, its not balanced in the least.
The only reason this balanced approach isn’t on its way to becoming law right now is because a significant number of Republicans in Congress are insisting on a different approach — a cuts-only approach -– an approach that doesn’t ask the wealthiest Americans or biggest corporations to contribute anything at all. And because nothing is asked of those at the top of the income scale, such an approach would close the deficit only with more severe cuts to programs we all care about –- cuts that place a greater burden on working families.
What a sad excuse for a President. Obama literally offered nothing new and played the same old games of blaming everyone else. Obama has no plan of his own and can only act as the “President of No”. It’s not very often that the opposition response is better than the initial speech. Tonight was the exception …

US Rep. Steve King (R-IA) Says Obama Will Be Impeached If He Allows the United States To Default on Debt
WOW, they are using the “I” word.
US Representative Steve King (R-Iowa) stated that President Barack Obama “would be impeached” if the United States falls into debt default. King basically is saying that the debt is automatically paid as “the 1st dime of each $1 of revenue services debt. So how could the US default on the debt? For any honest politician, we can not. However, Obama continues to try and scare Americans by continuously using the word default when it comes to the debt. Sadly, its all about the politics and reelection with Obama … not about America.
Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said Monday that President Barack Obama “would be impeached” if the nation falls into default.
“STOP talking about default,” he wrote on Twitter. “The 1st dime of each $1 of revenue services debt. Obama would be impeached if he blocked debt payments. C C & B!”
King is among the House Republicans who voted for the so-called “Cut, Cap and Balance” plan that would introduce a constitutional amendment to require a balanced budget. The Senate last week dismissed the House bill.

Tea Party Caucus to Push Full Faith and Credit Act Bill That Would Force Obama to Pay Creditors, Social Security Recipients & Military in Case of Default
Enter the real adults …
Remember when President Barack Obama told CBS that he could not guarantee that Social Security checks would go out if the budget went into default? It appears that there is a real adult in the room as the Tea Party Caucus is looking to push a Full Faith and Credit Act bill that would force Obama to do the responsible thing and pay creditors, social security recipients and those in the military in case their is a debt limit default.
Tea Party conservatives hope to make a push on the House floor to force President Obama to avoid a national default if Congress fails to raise the debt limit.
Members of the Senate Tea Party Caucus have met with House freshmen to discuss a plan to pressure House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to bring the Full Faith and Credit Act to the floor.
The legislation would direct Obama to prioritize federal payments to the nation’s creditors, Social Security recipients and soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
How common sense is this bill that would make the President and Democrats responsible to prioritize their debt as opposed to using scare tactics and lie to the American people that checks will not go out . Normally it would be a president that would provide such leadership to show that the US would be responsible in prioritizing debt payment. Not in this case.
“We have a bill that directs by law the president to pay the interest on the debt, pay social security checks and pay soldiers’ salaries. We’ve been talking with the House freshmen to see if they will force a vote on that next week,” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a member of the Senate Tea Party Caucus.
How shameful that Barack Obama would make such a comment that social security and disability checks would not go out when he knows there is the money to may them. Actually, it is beyond shameful and playing partisan scare politics at its worse.
However, as bad as Obama has been with such terrible scared tactics … as stated at Red State, its time for the Conservative GOP to draw a line in the sand and stand up for the principles as to why they were voted into office in 2010.
