Democrat Pollster Stan Greenberg Says Barack Obama Dragging Down Democrat Party

President Barack Obama goes from “The One” to THE ANCHOR.

Following the 2008 Presidential election Barack Obama was touted as “The One”, a rock start and the Obamamessiah. That was then and this is now. Democrat pollster Stan Greenberg has some grim news for Democrats. Believe it or not, polling data shows that Democrats are in worse shape for the 2012 elections than the shellacking they took in the 2010 midterm elections.  Democrats  have President Barack Obama to thank. Obama might as well be cement shoes on the feet of the Democrat party.  Greenberg has Obama losing to either GOP Presidential candidate Rick Perry or Mitt Romney.

One of the Democratic party’s leading pollsters released a survey of 60 Republican-held battleground districts today painting an ominous picture for Congressional Democrats in 2012. The poll shows Democratic House candidates faring worse than they did in the 2010 midterms, being dragged down by an unpopular president who would lose to both Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Mitt Romney.

Pollster Stan Greenberg released the poll with some sugary spin for Democrats, downplaying the results by arguing that the president’s jobs plan will improve the party’s fortunes.

In 60 battleground districts polled by Greenberg,  the data showed that there was not an anti-incumbent sentiment. Instead there was a definite backlash against Democrats. Of course this follows similar data from Rasmussen

Instead of an overall anti-incumbent sentiment impacting members of both parties, voters are taking more of their anger out on Democrats. When voters were asked whether they’re supporting the Republican incumbent or a Democratic candidate, 50 percent preferred the Republican and just 41 percent backed the Democrat.

Voters in these districts said they were more supportive of Republicans than they were during the 2010 midterms, when 48 percent said they backed the Republican candidate and 42 percent said they backed the Democrat. (Republicans won 55 percent of the overall vote in these 60 battleground districts, while Democrats took 43 percent.) In 2010, Republicans netted 63 House seats – their best showing since 1948.

Obama and Democrats like DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz can act like nothing is wrong all they want, Democrat pollster Stan Greenberg knows better. When an incumbent President has a job approval rating in the low 40′s, unemployment is consistently above 9% and a sitting Democrat President has lost ground with all voting demographics, including Jews and blacksHouston Democrats, you have a problem.

Full polling data from the Greenberg-Carville poll can be seen HERE.

Putting a “sugary-spin” to such terrible polling data takes a trained professional to even attempt to make sugar from sh&t and Obama polling numbers from 48/47 approval/disapproval rating in the surveyed districts to a 41/55 today. YIKES! As Red State opines, why would any Democrat want a political campaign visit and stump speech from Obama? Unless for some reason you drew the sort straw. Seriously, how does any Democrat in a competitive, swing district have Obama come to their district or state? What is Obama going to stump about that will inspiring voters, the economy, the federal deficit, the unemployment rate, Obamacare? Look for many districts that were once considered safe for Democrats to be in play in 2012. Democrat Senators in battleground states like Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri and Virginia will find hanging on to these seats, difficult at best.

EXIT QUESTION: If the 2010 midterm election was a shellacking, what would you call the 2012 election when Democrats lose the Presidency, control of the US Senate and further loses in the House?

RUT-ROH …Gen. William Shelton Says He Was Pressured to Change Testimony to favor White House Backs Broadband Company LightSquared

RUT-ROH, where there is scandal smoke there is fire …

According to FOX News, General William Shelton, the head of the Air Force Space Command, testified to the House  that he was pressured to change testimony to Congress by the Obama Administration to favor LightSquared, a company funded a a major Democrat donor.

Gen. William Shelton, head of the Air Force Space Command, told House members in a classified briefing earlier this month that he was pressured to change prepared congressional testimony in a way that would favor a large company funded by Philip Falcone, a major Democratic donor, congressional sources told Fox News.

Republicans have raised questions about whether project pursued by the company, LightSquared, is being unduly expedited by the Obama administration, which has pushed for national wireless network upgrades.

Hmm, does this sound familiar? Another company unduly expedited by the Obama administration to push for an Obama agenda item like national wireless.  Sounding a bit like the reckless expedited push and funding of Solyndra.

Hmmm Solyndragate … FBI RAIDS SOLYNDRA, the Barack Obama Backed & Funded Green Energy Failure

Things that make you go Hmmm … Should we call this Solyndragate or Greengate?

The FBI raided the headquarters if Solyndra, a green energy company that was given more than $500,000 in federal stimulus funds  and was praised by President Barack Obama as a leading green company of the future saying, “It’s here that companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future”. Oops, once again Obama was horribly wrong as just last week Solyndra filed for bankruptcy. This could get dicey for Barack Obama as the Gateway Pundit opines, top Obama bundler George Kaiser, a principle investor in Solyndra, made multiple visits to the White House in the months before the company was granted a $535 million loan from the government.

FBI agents served search warrants this morning at Solyndra, the Fremont solar company that abruptly closed last week, two years after receiving more than $500 million in federal stimulus money, an agency official said.

The search is part of a joint investigation involving the FBI and the Department of Energy’s Office of Inspector General, said FBI spokeswoman Julianne Sohn, who declined to elaborate.

SOLYNDRA-Gate

Wasn’t it just last week that famed predictor Alan Lichman said that Obama would win in 2012, one of the reasons he gained points was that there was no scandals in his Administration. SM pointed out the “Fast & Furious” scandal and I guess we might be able to add Solyndra into that category as well. As stated at Powerline, they refer to it as
the Solyndra bankruptcy was the green energy equivalent of Charles Keating/Lincoln Savings collapse in the S & L debacle of 20 years ago.

What do Obama know and when did he know it? What of those 20 visits by Solyndra execs to the White House. Hmm, quid pro quo?

Solyndra is a microcosm of Barack Obama and the economy. He plays favorites with companies and pushes his radical green agenda praising companies as the future … which ultimately go belly up and are raided by the FBI.  Talk about the un-Midas touch.  Do you think that Obama has learned his lesson that the government cannot prop up green energy technology and call it a success when its a failure? No, the NRO has more of Obama’s obsession with green jobs at all cost and be damned if they are sustainable or not. This is why this President is a failure … he lives in a different reality, one where success is not necessary.

Will this story have legs and how will the public perceive Barack Obama now that the FBI raid of Solybdra follows the “Fast & Furious” scandal? The squeaky clean image of Obama may now be tarnished as well.

Obamanonics vs. Reaganomics: One a Complete Failure, the Other a Resounding Success … “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”

Call it a Tale of Two Presidencies, Obamanonics vs. Reaganomics.

You make the call which is which, it should not be too difficult to determine Obama from Reagan. Democrats and the MSM like to call Obama “Reaganesque;” however, any common sense thinking person knows Obama is “Carteresque”. The talking points of the LEFT is that Obama inherited a bad economy and they have constantly used that as an excuse. Flashback to Ronald Reagan, who inherited a worse economy from Jimmy Carter and turned it around. No one heard excused from President Reagan, they got results instead.

Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama – the two should never be mentioned in the same sentence

“It was the best of times [Reagan], it was the worst of times [Obama], it was the age of wisdom [Reagan], it was the age of foolishness [Obama], it was the epoch of belief [Reagan], it was the epoch of incredulity [Obama], it was the season of Light [Reagan], it was the season of Darkness [Obama], it was the spring of hope [Reagan], it was the winter of despair [Obama], we had everything before us [Reagan], we had nothing before us [Obama], we were all going direct to Heaven [Reagan], we were all going direct the other way [Obama]

Democrats like to compare Barack Obama to former President Ronald Reagan, but do they really? Not after reading the Wallstreet Journal’s latest article spelling out the failed accomplishments of Obamanomics and the success of Reaganomics. No honest and thinking person could ever compare the two Presidents, the manner in which they went going about fixing a terrible economy and the results of their policies. The key words here were “honest” and “thinking”.  The MSM seems to have amnesia when they compare Obama and Reagan forgetting the fact that “The Great Communicators” policies

The two presidents have a lot in common. Both inherited an American economy in collapse. And both applied daring, expensive remedies. Mr. Reagan passed the biggest tax cut ever, combined with an agenda of deregulation, monetary restraint and spending controls. Mr. Obama, of course, has given us a $1 trillion spending stimulus.

By the end of the summer of Reagan’s third year in office, the economy was soaring. The GDP growth rate was 5% and racing toward 7%, even 8% growth. In 1983 and ’84 output was growing so fast the biggest worry was that the economy would “overheat.” In the summer of 2011 we have an economy limping along at barely 1% growth and by some indications headed toward a “double-dip” recession. By the end of Reagan’s first term, it was Morning in America. Today there is gloomy talk of America in its twilight.

My purpose here is not more Reagan idolatry, but to point out an incontrovertible truth: One program for recovery worked, and the other hasn’t.

Americans Brighter Than Obama & Democrats … 67% of Americans Oppose Upcoming Ban on Traditional Light Bulbs

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT …

Will Barack Obama say that 80% of Americans want to do away with traditional light bulbs? Probably, seeing that this disingenuous president will pretty much spin every fact to benefit his unpopular agenda. Just this week, Democrats blocked the repeal of the  light bulb ban.  Just yet another position by Democrats and the President that goes against the will of the people. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 67% of Americans oppose the ban of traditional incandescent light bulbs. Only 20% believe that the bulbs should be banned.

Mercury filled light bulbs and jobs to China … Democrats Say ‘YES”

Hat Tip: Vanderbilt  ’11

One-in-five Americans (20%) say they or someone they know has bought large quantities of traditional light bulbs to use when those bulbs disappear off store shelves next year under new federal light bulb regulations.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 70% of Adults aren’t doing that themselves or don’t know anyone who is, but another 10% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Such a decision to lose jobs to China and move to dim watted bulbs is the height of brilliance from President Barack Obama and the Democrat party. Democrats whine that the GOP needs to stay out of people’s bedrooms … We say to Democrats stay out of the rest of our homes. BTW, aren’t there lights in bedrooms, so Democrats, stay out of our bedrooms as well!

UPDATE I: As stated at the Gateway Pundit, House republicans moved to block federal light bulb efficiency standards without even a roll call vote.

An amendment from Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) defunding the Energy Department’s standards for traditional incandescent light bulbs to be 30 percent more energy efficient starting next year was approved rather anticlimactically by voice vote.
