Oregon Shooting: 10 Dead Including Gunman at Umpqua Community College (Update: Gunman ID’d as Chris Harper Mercer)
Following the mass shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College, 10 people are dead, including the gunman. According to accounts of the mass shooting, the gunman specifically targeted individuals who were Christians. As reported at CNN, the gunman asked whether individuals were Christians stating, “Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second. And then he shot and killed them.” The shooter has been identified as 26 year old Chris Harper Mercer. The gunman was killed in a gun battle with police after officers responded to the scene at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg just before 10:40 AM.
Ten people were killed when a gunman opened fire at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College on Thursday, forcing the nation to face yet another mass shooting.
Seven other people were injured, and the shooter is dead, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin told reporters. Earlier estimates had put the number of people hurt much higher.
Multiple law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation identified the gunman as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer. Investigators have interviewed members of his family and friends, they said.
“I will not name the shooter,” Hanlin said. “I will not give him the credit he probably sought.”
Authorities credited a quick response by law enforcement for keeping the death toll from climbing higher.
A law enforcement official said the shooter had body armor with him and was heavily armed, with a large amount of ammunition — enough for a prolonged gunfight.
Hanlin said tactical teams and bomb squads had cleared the buildings on campus and were working to clear hundreds of vehicles parked on campus.
UPDATE I: Shooter asks students their religion.
The shooter at Umpqua Community College on Thursday asked people to state their religion and then started firing, one student said.
Kortney Moore, an 18-year-old, told the News Review she was sitting in her writing class when a bullet blasted through the window. She saw her teacher shot in the head then noticed that the shooter was in the classroom.
Moore said the shooter told people to get on the ground. He then asked people to stand up and state their religion but started firing anywhere. She was on the ground next to people who’d been shot.
UPDATE II: Umpqua Gunman Chris Harper Mercer — What We Know.
Former acquaintances and social-media postings paint a picture of 26-year-old Christopher Harper Mercer — who was killed in a firefight with police at Umpqua Community College — as a withdrawn young man who spent a lot of time on the Internet.
Public records show that one person of that name was born in Los Angeles County in 1989. Police declined to confirm the shooter’s identity late Thursday, in an attempt to not “glorify” the actions of the gunman behind a rampage that left 10 dead and seven others wounded.
Investigators said it was too soon to identify a motive, though Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin told NBC’s TODAY he wasn’t aware of any “specific red flags” for the shooter.
“He is a local resident and I know personally I haven’t heard of any warning signs coming from this person,” Hanlon said.
A MySpace page that appeared to be linked to the shooter featured Mercer holding what appeared to be a rifle while several other postings were sympathetic to the Irish Republican Army and featured masked gunmen and logos.

George Mason University Students Shown Picture Of Ahmed Mohammed ’s Clock … They All Say It Looks Like A Bomb (VIDEO)
What does the picture of Ahmed Mohammed ’s clock look like … It looks like an invitation to the White House from a community agitator.
President Barack Obama and the LEFT cried racial profiling when Ahmed Mohammed was arrested in Texas for bring his homemade clock to school. Obama, as usual with his knee-jerk reaction, not knowing the details and on the wrong side of the issue with Americans, was quick to tweet, Nice clock. Sorry Barack Hussein Obama, no one thinks this looks like a homemade clock. George Mason University students were asked what they thought of a picture of Ahmed’s invention. Pretty much every person, except one, who was asked said it looked like a bomb. Watch the video below. Some students were asked whether this device could be brought to the White House. The answer … NO!!! The reality is if Ahmed had attempted to bring this device to the White House he would have been tackled and detained by Secret Service agents protecting the president as they would have deemed it a threat and a bomb. But because Obama can use this to divide people and side with a Muslim kid, he gets an invitation to the White House.
Since the incident, larger, more detailed pictures of the homemade clock have been released. MRCTV went to a college campus and showed students a picture of the clock and asked them to guess what the device was without telling them that it was, in fact, a digital clock. Here’s what happened:
But according to the LEFT and Barack Obama these students are bigoted and Islamophobes. No, they are just common sense Americans.
Even uber-lib Bill Maher went off and said, it looked like a f*cking bomb!!!

HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher – Uber-Lib Gets it Right with Ahmed’s Clock … “People at the School thought it might be a Bomb, perhaps because it Looks exactly like a f*cking Bomb.”
BILL MAHER GETS IT RIGHT ON AHMED’S HOME MADE CLOCK …
Uber-lib Bill Maher gets it wrong on many things, but the one thing he consistently gets it right on is radical Islam, terrorism, Islamist’s and home land security. Such was the case on this week’s HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher when he discussed the recent controversy of a Texas student who was arrested for bringing a homemade clock to school that looked like a bomb. And yes, the student was Muslim. Sorry Ahmed Mohamed, what the hell did you think was going to happen in a post-911 world? Are you kidding that it didn’t look like a bomb? Kids are getting arrested and suspended from school for pointing their finger and thumb like a gun and bring pop tarts to school that look like a hand gun and you think this home made contraption didn’t look like a bomb, get real.
Maher said during the segment that the “people at the school thought it might be a bomb, perhaps because it looks exactly like a f*cking bomb.” Maher went on to say, can we have a little perspective on this? The Texas school teacher did nothing wrong. What were they supposed to do, nothing and this device goes off and kills people?
There is zero tolerance in schools when it comes to this kind of stuff so enough of this he only got arrested because he was Muslim. Although, Maher said, gee isn’t it just one culture that has been blowing sh*t up for the past 30 years. This is why teachers were erring on the side of caution.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene shortly after and pronounced his death at 4:33 p.m. Police labeled the incident a “suspicious death.” How in the hell in this day and age does a bus driver not check the bus to make sure there is no one aboard the bus?
A 19-year-old special needs student died after he was left inside a school bus parked at a Whittier Union High School District parking lot for hours Friday afternoon, officials said.
The incident was first reported as a patient in “full arrest” about 4:25 p.m. in a school district parking lot along Mulberry Drive, between Painter and Greenleaf avenues, according to Whittier police and Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.
Police officers first responded to a report of a “man down” on a bus at the district parking lot, Whittier police officials said in a written statement.
“The bus company, Pupil Transpiration (Cooperative), driver received a call from dispatch that a student was missing,” Whittier police Officer Brad White said. “He (returned) to his bus and that’s where he found this young man unresponsive.”
It was unclear how much time had passed.
When officers arrived at the scene, “They saw several bus drivers performing CPR on an adult male,” according to the statement. “Officers took over in an attempt to revive the adult male, but their attempts were unsuccessful. The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene shortly after and pronounced his death at 4:33 p.m.”
The teen’s cause of death was unknown, officials added.
There were no obvious signs of trauma on the body, White said.
Friday’s afternoon temperatures soared well into the 90s.
Police labeled the incident a “suspicious death.”
