Snarf’s Sub Shop in Chicago That Was Target of Union Thugs Demanding $15 an Hour Shuts Down & Fires Its Employees Via Email Just Days Before Christmas

Question to the ‘Fight for 15′ crowd … which is better $9.50 an hour or $0.00?

Snarf’s Sub Shop in Chicago has closed it’s doors and fired all of their staff just days before Christmas via email. Snarf’s was the target of the SEIU and was closed for four days, from December 5 until December 8, as employees went on striking demanding $15 an hour and better benefits. Now they are all out of work just before the holidays. From the files of, don’t ask for things they might just come true.  So hows that strike and forcing your employer to shut down working out for you now?

You want to be paid $15/hr to make a sandwich, are you kidding?

Wonder how the guy with the FF15 Victory … Snarf’s Shut Down sign feels about now?

A Chicago sandwich shop has fired all of its 20 staff over email just two days before Christmas.

Staff at Snarf’s Sub Shop in River North received the bad news on Sunday night in a group email notifying them that the drastic action was effective immediately.

The company blamed ‘increased competition and losses’ for the firings.

Director of operations Doug Besant said in the email the restaurant will likely close for a month as they remodel and reconcept the business into a burger joint.

But the move comes less than a month after Snarf’s workers rallied for higher wages.

The email, obtained by ChicagoGrid.com, read: ‘Due to increased competition and losses, ownership has decided to consider remodeling and reconcepting the store at 600 West Chicago Ave.

The sandwich shop claims that the firings were not a retaliation for their strike. So what if they were? Chicago fast-food, retail workers join in nationwide protest over wages. Honestly, if my business was hanging on by a thread and individuals picketed by business forcing me to shut down for days, they all would have been fired then. Sorry, making sandwiches is not a $15 a hr. job. Hmm, Chicago is a union town eh, so was Detroit, how are they doing these days?

Clustered around a giant, bright green “Grinch,” the protesters — part of a “100-city strike wave”— are demanding a $15-an-hour wage and the right to form a union without retaliation.

“Chicago is a union town!” they chanted outside Snarf’s Sandwiches, 600 W. Chicago, one of several stops during a planned daylong demonstration in the city.

The group was expected to include workers from McDonald’s, Subway, CVS Pharmacy, Sears — among other companies.

CNN Poll: What Obama Job Revovery … Only 24% Believe That an Economic Recovery is Under Way

Remember when President Barack Obama spoke of the job recovery that was under way … Neither do most Americans!

During Barack Obama first State of the Union Address in 2009 he stated the following: “It’s an agenda that begins with jobs. As soon… As soon as I took office.” Instead he focused 100% on passing Obamacare against the will of the people.

According to the most recent CNN poll, not only is Barack Obama struggling with low job approval numbers and trust issues on Onamacare, with regards to the #1 issue facing Americas today, the economy, 59% things are going badly, only a mere 24% believe the economic recovery is under way. Exactly how long has Obama been making that promise? And instead of making jobs the number one issue, he goes out of his way to destroy jobs with over-regulation and  his healthcare and energy agenda. Obamacare has caused business to fire individuals or reduce the jobs from full-time to part-time. An his energy policies are doing their best to destroy the coal industry in the United States.

Americans views on the state of the nation are turning increasingly sour, according to a new national poll.

And a CNN/ORC International survey released Friday also indicates that less than a quarter of the public says that economic conditions are improving, while nearly four in ten say the nation’s economy is getting worse.

Forty-one percent of those questioned in the poll say things are going well in the country today, down nine percentage points from April, and the lowest that number has been in CNN polling since February 2012.Fifty-nine percent say things are going badly, up nine points from April.

Besides an obvious partisan divide, which contributes to a urban-rural gap, the survey also indicates a difference of opinion between younger and older Americans.

So its not just Obamacare that Americans are dissatisfied with Barack Obama. It is coming from all directions and at some point it will reach the point of no return, if it already hasn’t.

The 2012 State of the Union:

Yea, imagine if we actually did what Obama promised and did oil exploration in the US and made dependency on Middle East oil a thing of the past. Imagine if we regulated less and allowed the American industrial machine to take off. Imagine if we allowed for increases in nuclear, clean coal, oil, natural gas and the dreaded fracking

Imagine what we could accomplish if we followed their example. Think about the America within our reach: A country that leads the world in educating its people. An America that attracts a new generation of high-tech manufacturing and high-paying jobs. A future where we’re in control of our own energy, and our security and prosperity aren’t so tied to unstable parts of the world. An economy built to last, where hard work pays off, and responsibility is rewarded.

2011 State of the Union:

The very small business jobs that Obama is touting are the very one’s that Obamacare is destroying.

But we have never measured progress by these yardsticks alone. We measure progress by the success of our people. By the jobs they can find and the quality of life those jobs offer. By the prospects of a small business owner who dreams of turning a good idea into a thriving enterprise. By the opportunities for a better life that we pass on to our children.

2010 State of the Union:

This recession has also compounded the burdens that America’s families have been dealing with for decades – the burden of working harder and longer for less; of being unable to save enough to retire or help kids with college. [Save enough? How are Americans supposed to save with the increase in energy costs, the price at the pump and high premium costs of Obamacare? Let along college ids can't get jobs.]

The plan that has made all of this possible, from the tax cuts to the jobs, is the Recovery Act. That’s right – the Recovery Act, also known as the Stimulus Bill. Economists on the left and the right say that this bill has helped saved jobs and avert disaster. But you don’t have to take their word for it. [Yea, how did that "Hopey-Changey" stimulus waste of tax payers money work out for you America?]

That is why jobs must be our number one focus in 2010, and that is why I am calling for a new jobs bill tonight.[What was his #1 focus, jobs or Obamacare?]

2009 State of the Union:

You don’t need to hear another list of statistics to know that our economy is in crisis, because you live it every day. It’s the worry you wake up with and the source of sleepless nights. It’s the job you thought you’d retire from but now have lost, the business you built your dreams upon that’s now hanging by a thread, the college acceptance letter your child had to put back in the envelope.

The impact of this recession is real, and it is everywhere. [Hmm, doesn't it sound like Barack is talking about the affects of Obamacare on families and businesses?]

CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo Says ObamaCare Forcing America to Become a Part-Time Employment Country as Businesses Shift to Part-Time Workers

The heck with the Obamacare website glitches, Obamacare has much worse consequences on America and Americans … Obamacare is a full-time job killer.

CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo said on ‘Meet the Press’ on Sunday that “ObamaCare is forcing businesses to shift to part-time workers.” She went on to say that America was “becoming something of a part-time employment country.” However, no one in the MSM wants to address the fact that Obama’s signature piece of legislation is causing American workers to lose their full-time jobs. Isn’t that special, in order for a small minority of people to have access to insurance, all Americans are forced to buy insurance or else pay a tax, and workers are losing money in their pay checks as businesses shift to a part-time work model. Thanks Barack Obama.

Intentional or irony … Obama’s signature piece of legislation kills FT jobs and affects the middle class, the very people he claims to be for? Is it any wonder why Obama is the worst jobs president in modern times.

Maria Bartiromo is sadly100% correct. Check out Zero Hedge, where of the 953,000 jobs created in 2013, 77%, or 731,000 are part-time ones. Many businesses are are now only hiring PT employees in order to avoid Obamacare or are shifting those that were full-time to part-time. Who didn’t see that coming?

Obamanomics: People in Poverty Up 6,667,000 … Record 46,496,000 Now Poor … Median Income Down Nearly 5% to $2,627

Hey America, hoes that “Hopey-Changey” stuff working out for you?

Thanks to President Barack Obama and his disastrous economic policy, median income is down 4.89% or $2627 and poverty is up to a record 46,496,000. But Barack Obama will tell you he is for the little guy and the middle class. Sure he is. What a disaster this man has been to the United States and its people. It is going to take decades for this country to undo the damage he and Democrats have done. It is mind boggling how he was ever reelected with such a totally epic failure of the economy, jobs and, unemployment.

Obama_Epic_Fail

During the four years that marked President Barack Obama’s first term in office, the real median income of American households dropped by $2,627 and the number of people in poverty increased by approximately 6,667,000, according to data released today by the Census Bureau.

The record total of approximately 46,496,000 people in the United States who are now in poverty, according to the Census Bureau, is more than twice the population of Syria, which, according to the CIA, has 22,457,336 people.

In 2008, the year Obama was elected, real median household income in the United States was $53,644 according to the Census Bureau. In 2012, the last full year of Obama’s first term, median household income was $51,017. Thus, real median household income dropped $2,627—or 4.89 percent—from 2008 to 2012.

Teen Employment Hits Record Lows Under Barack Obama Presidency … Great Depression for Teens

Can’t blame this one on George W. Bush … How can Obama actually says he cares?

How’s that “Hopey-Changey” thing working out for your teens in America? Thanks to Barack Obama, we are witness to a Great Depression for teens. How is it that young people are for Barack Obama when none of them can get a job thanks to is moronic handling of the economy? And they have nothing better to look forward to when they leave their teens as well. Obama has been a disaster for the economy and jobs. He constantly says that he is focused like a laser on creating jobs, but continues to be an epic failure. The teen employment numbers get even worse when you look at race. When comparing June and July 2000 and the same two months of 2013 … in 2000, 61.28% of white teens 16 to 19 held a job, a number that fell to 39.25% this summer. But for African-Americans, the number that was completely pathetic.  In 2000, 33.91% of 16 to 19 year old’s holding a job, fell to a staggering low of 19.25 percent this June and July. Good grief, that should be criminal. If Obama was nit black the NAACP would be marching in the streets. Obama has been a disgrace to the black community, yet they support him like he actually cared.

These job numbers border of child abuse.

Obama shakes the hands of unemployed teens

For the fourth consecutive summer, teen employment has stayed anchored around record lows, prompting experts to fear that a generation of youth is likely to be economically stunted with lower earnings and opportunities in years ahead.

The trend is all the more striking given that the overall unemployment rate has steadily dropped, to 7.4 percent in August. And employers in recent months have been collectively adding almost 200,000 new jobs a month. It led to hopes that this would be the summer when teen employment improved.

In 1999, slightly more than 52 percent of teens 16 to 19 worked a summer job. By this year, that number had plunged to about 32.25 percent over June and July. It means that slightly more than three in 10 teens actually worked a summer job, out of a universe of roughly 16.8 million U.S. teens.

“We have never had anything this low in our lives. This is a Great Depression for teens, and no time in history have we encountered anything like that,” said Andrew Sum, director of the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University in Boston. “That’s why it’s such an important story.”

Is is any wonder why Barack Obama wants to start a war with Syria and take the focus off of his dismal domestic policies, record, failures and scandals?
