42 Year Old Marcy Borders, More Known as 9/11′s Iconic ‘Dust Lady,’ Has Died After Battle with Stomach Cancer

42 year old Marcy Borders, probably better known from her iconic picture as the “Dust Lady” following the collapse of the Twin Towers in NYC on September 11, 2001, has died of cancer.  According to The Jersey Journal, Borders was told in August last year that she had stomach cancer and underwent chemotherapy. She had always linked the cancer to 911, when she inhaled and was covered with all types of hazardous debris. One will never know, but sadly after a long, hard and trying struggle following the 911 terror attacks, Marcy Borders has passed.

Our prayers go out to her family and friends. Rest in peace Marcy Borders.

A woman who became known as the “Dust Lady” after being captured on camera in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack on New York City has died after a battle with cancer, her brother confirmed to NBC News.

Marcy Borders, a 42-year-old from Bayonne, New Jersey, was pictured covered in dust after the World Trade Center was hit by two passenger jets. She was inside one of the Twin Towers at the time of the attack but managed to escape the building onto the street below.

She died in the hospital on Monday night at around 11:10 p.m. ET, according to her brother Michael Borders.

The famous photo shows Marcy Borders, a Bank of America employee at the time, distraught and covered in dust in the aftermath of the attacks in Lower Manhattan.

The Bayonne native fell into a decade-long depression that led her to abuse alcohol and drugs after her traumatic experience on 9/11. In 2011, Borders checked into rehab, and has stayed clean since, she told The Jersey Journal last year.

Borders, a mother of two, was just getting back into the working world — helping with a candidate’s local campaign for mayor — when her doctor told her in August 2014 that she had stomach cancer.

Borders, 41 at the time, told The Jersey Journal in November that she had undergone chemotherapy and that she was scheduled to undergo surgery in December and then radiation and chemotherapy afterward.

At the time, she wondered aloud if her cancer was related to 9/11.

Ferguson, MO: 9 Year Old Jamyla Bolden Shot Dead as She Was doing Homework on Her Mother’s Bed … Do Black Lives Matter?

DO BLACK LIVES REALLY MATTER IN FERGUSON, OR IS IT JUST WHEN THEY ARE KILLED BY THE POLICE?

9 year old Jamyla Bolden was shot dead as she was doing homework in her home as she laid on her mother’s bed. Jamyla was a fourth grader at Koch Elementary School. The incident took place at about 9:30 Thursday night in the 9200 block of Ellison in Ferguson, Missouri.  The shooting happened a couple of blocks from the site where 18-year-old Michael Brown was fatally shot by a police officer on Aug. 9, 2014. What a tragic and sad story about the death of a child who was simply just doing home work. Her mother also suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Jamyla Bolden

For the Black Lives Matter crowd, this is what you should be concerning yourself with. But alas, there are no cops, and white ones at that, to blame. Only most like gang members. You would protect when a thugs who attempt to attack a police officer or stupidly points a gun at police and wind up dead, imagine that? But for an innocent young girl you are silent. What’s the matter Rev’s Al and Jessee, not enough race-baiting in this tragic situation?

Ferguson police are searching for clues about the killing of a 9-year-old girl who was shot when someone fired into a home where she was doing homework on her mother’s bed.

No arrests have been made in Tuesday night’s fatal shooting of Jamyla Bolden and police don’t yet know if the home was targeted or the shots were random, Ferguson Sgt. Dominica Fuller said Thursday.

Jamyla’s mother, 34, was struck in the leg and treated at a hospital.

“You have a 9-year-old child on her mother’s bed doing homework and a bullet strikes her,” Fuller said. “Our concern is to get this person off the street.”

The shooting happened a couple of blocks from the site where 18-year-old Michael Brown was fatally shot by a police officer on Aug. 9, 2014, sparking sometimes violent protests.

Fuller, herself the mother of a 9-year-old, was among the first officers at the home after the shooting, which was reported just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. She said police did all they could to help the child, to no avail.

Not only is Her reality show is doing badly and it looks like he she might be in a whole new word of hurt …

Could Bruce Jenner, sorry, Caityln be facing manslaughter charges? According to the LA Times, the Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives will present evidence next week to prosecutors that could land Caitlyn Jenner in hot water and  lead to a misdemeanor manslaughter charges in connection with the February 7, 2015 chain-reaction motor vehicle crash that caused the death of 69 year old Kim Howe dead. It has been determined in the investigation of the crash that Jenner was not driving above the speed limit, but driving at an unsafe speed for the road conditions that day. If found guilty, Jenner could face a year in jail.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives will present evidence next week to prosecutors that could lead to a misdemeanor manslaughter charge against Caitlyn Jenner in a deadly chain-reaction crash earlier this year on Pacific Coast Highway.

Jenner was driving at an unsafe speed Feb. 7 when her Escalade hit Kim Howe’s car, ultimately leading to the deadly crash, said Det. Richard Curry of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Jenner was not driving above the speed limit, but driving at an unsafe speed for the road conditions that day, he added.

This is also where I call out ESPN again for their BS and giving Caityn an award in courage this past year, after having killed a woman. Way to go ESPN for attaching yourselves the the circus, the the soap opera and reality show, Jerry Springer insanity that is the live of Bruce, sorry Caitlyn. Just curious, if convicted and ordered to serve time, does he/she going to a men’s or woman’s jail?

NFL Legend, Former NY Giant, Broadcaster and Pro Football Hall of Famer Frank Gifford Has Passed Away at Age 84, RIP

One of the original golden boys of the NFL has passed away … Remembering a legend of the game.

Former NY Giant player, broadcaster, Pro Football Hall of Famer and legend of the game, Frank Gifford, has died at the age of 84. Gifford played in an era when players were two way players and a game that was so rough and brutal that 95% of the players today could not withstand. Gifford played running back, receiver and defensive back for the New York Giants in his NFL career, which spanned from 1952-1964. Gifford sat out the 1961 season after a suffering a head injury from what many have said was the most brutal hit in NFL history (VIDEO) at the hands of the late Chuck Bednarik. Gifford returned in 1962 and won Comeback Player of the Year.

Frank Gifford, a Hall of Fame running back and receiver who personified the Giants’ glory years of the late 1950s and early ’60s and then became the low-key play-by-play voice of ABC’s “Monday Night Football,” teaming with the contentious Howard Cosell and the country-boy presence of Don Meredith in a broadcasting team that became must-see programming for much of America, died at his home in Connecticut on Sunday. He was 84.

After retiring from football, Gifford became a sports broadcaster, most notably as a play-by-play announcer and color commentator on Monday Night Football from 1971 to 1997 with Howard Cosell and Dandy Don Meredith. Sadly, all of the original members of the Monday Night Football broadcasting crew have now passed. Frank Gifford is survived by his wife, Kathie Lee Gifford, and children.

In a statement from his family:

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and friend, Frank Gifford. Frank died suddenly this beautiful Sunday morning of natural causes at his Connecticut home. We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being. We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank you for your prayers.

Frank Gifford, August 16, 1930 – August 9, 2015, Rest in Peace

NFL Legend Frank Gifford Passes Away at 84.

Born in Santa Monica in 1930, Gifford attended the University of Southern California on a football scholarship and went pro after being selected 11th overall in the first round of the 1952 draft.

Gifford played with the New York Giants his entire NFL career, from 1952 to 1964, with several visits to the Pro-Bowl. In 1956 he was league MVP and led the team to a championship (before it was called “The Super Bowl”).

The Giants used Gifford at running back, defensive back, wide receiver and on special teams. He went to the Pro Bowl at three different positions. His 5,434 yards receiving were a Giants record for 39 years, until Amani Toomer surpassed him in 2003. His jersey number, 16, was retired by the team in 2000.

After his playing career ended, he became a sports commentator, first for CBS and then as a co-host of Monday Night Football from 1971 to 1985.

The Original Monday Night Football crew has sadly now all passed away, right to left, Dandy Don Meredith, Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford.

Giants co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch both released statements on Gifford’s passing.

“Frank Gifford was the ultimate Giant. He was the face of our franchise for so many years. More importantly, he was a treasured member of our family. My father loved him like a son and was proud to act as his presenter for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a favor Frank returned years later by presenting my father in Canton. For my siblings and me, Frank was like a revered older brother whom we looked up to and admired. We loved him and will miss him terribly,” Mara said.

“Not only was Frank a member of the Giants family from the time he left USC, and will be forever, but because Frank, my father (Bob) and Pete Rozelle were so close in the ’60s, I felt like he was a member of my family. I always loved seeing Frank on our sideline before our games. He had the handshake of a 25-year old, and he looked you right in the eye with his big blue eyes. He was such a strong person in every way. He will be missed and will always be remembered as a Giants’ Giant,” Tisch said.

Frank Gifford was not only one of the legends who played the game but also took part in one of the more famous media events back in the day long before the immediacy of social media, Facebook and Twitter. John Lennon passed away as Monday Night Football was taking place, a game between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins. Frank Gifford and Howard Cossell learn about John Lennon’s death live on air and would announce to the world the death of John Lennon during of all things, a football game. Check out the VIDEO below where Frank Gifford becomes the voice of reason and talks Cossell into making the announcement. So with .03 seconds to go before a game winning field goal attempt, the announcement of John Lennon’s death came out over broadcast news via MNF.

“We all this morning have heavy hearts,” Gov. Maggie Hassan told WMUR-TV early Tuesday. “We lost two lives — a father and a daughter — at an event that was supposed to be fun.”

Authorities were looking at how the tent was put up at the Lancaster Fairgrounds, about 90 miles north of the capital of Concord. They also were talking to survivors and witnesses.
