An Amber Alert has been issued for 8 year old Charish Lilly Perriwinkle who has been missing since Friday night, June 21, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida. Charish Lilly Perriwinkle is believed to have been abducted from a Walmart by a sex offender in Jacksonville, FL Friday night by 56 year old  sex offender Donald James Smith.  The police were contacted around 11 P.M. Friday night by the mother of Charish Lilly Perriwinkle at the Wal-Mart on 12100 Lem Turner Road regarding her missing daughter.  First Coast reported, Sergeant Lonnie Mills of Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the child was taken by a man who had befriended the mother at the store and said he was taking the girl to the store’s McDonald’s outlet for a snack. HUH?  Oh dear God, who does this in this day and age? Seriously folks, how in the hell do you allow yourself to be befriended by a total stranger and allow your 8 year old little girl to go off like this? What on earth was this mother thinking?

Charish Lilly Perriwinkle description: 4′ 3″-tall, 60-pound, white girl with hazel eyes and brown hair. She was wearing an orange sleeveless dress, a pink bandanna and purple flip-flops when she vanished from the Walmart off Lem Turner Road in Jacksonville, FL.

The mother of Charish Lilly Perriwinkle contacted cops at around 11 p.m., First Coast News reported. She told them she and her daughter were at the Walmart when a man befriended them, then disappeared with the little girl after saying he was going to take her to the store’s McDonald’s for a snack.

Police believe the kidnapper is 56-year-old sex offender Donald James Smith, who has previously served time for attempted kidnapping and lewd and lascivious assault on children, Jacksonville.com reported.

UPDATE I: The body of 8 year old Charish Lilly Perriwinkle found deceased at Highlands Baptist Church Saturday morning. Sex offender Donald James Smith has been taken into custody after officers surrounded a white van on southbound I-95 near the I-10 split.  Donald James Smith is a registered sexual offender and was recently released from jail on May 31, 2013. Well that didn’t take long for this predator to escalate his depravity from  attempted kidnapping and lewd and lascivious assault on children to kidnapping, probably rape and murder of a child. Smith has several previous arrests involving lewd behavior with children and has a registered address of 2495 Segovia Avenue.

UPDATE II: From CNN, the unbelievable accounts that lead to the abduction of and murder of 8 year old Charish Lilly Perriwinkle.  Personally, I am at a loss as to how any mother could allow their child to walk off with a complete stranger. I do not care what they bought you and were going to buy.

After the investigation revealed that the girl had been abducted, an Amber Alert was activated, Hartley said. He identified Smith, “a man with a very extensive criminal history” that included a kidnapping conviction, as a suspect.

Williams said the girl’s mother first met Smith on Friday night at a local Dollar General store, where he offered to take the family to Walmart to buy them some clothes.

“After being inside the store for a couple hours, the man then offered to buy some hamburgers,” Williams told reporters. “As he walked to the front of the store, he took our 8-year-old victim with him. They walked to the front of the Walmart toward the McDonald’s. They did not stop at the McDonald’s. They walked outside, got in his van and left the location.”

Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping and holding Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight for a decade has been indicted on 329 charges, including murder, kidnapping and rape. The indictment returned by a Cuyahoga County grand jury was a who’s who of sick and twisted depravity of crimes perpetrated upon the three woman he kidnapped, sexually abuses and held captive for a decade in his Ohio home. The list included 2 counts of aggravated murder, 139 counts of rape, 177 counts of kidnapping, 7 counts of gross sexual imposition, 3 counts of felonious assault and 1 count of possession of criminal tools.

A Cuyahoga County grand jury returned the indictment Friday against Ariel Castro, a former school bus driver fired last fall.

Castro, 52, is accused of kidnapping Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight and holding them captive along with a 6-year-old girl he fathered with Berry.

The grand jury charged Castro with two counts of aggravated murder related to one act, saying he purposely caused the unlawful termination of one of the women’s pregnancies. Castro also was indicted on 139 counts of rape, 177 counts of kidnapping, seven counts of gross sexual imposition, three counts of felonious assault and one count of possession of criminal tools.

Cuyahoga County prosecutor Tim McGinty said the indictment covers only the period from August 2002, when the first of the women disappeared, to February 2007.

The indictment refers to the women as Jane Doe 1, Jane Doe 2 and Jane Doe 3 and gives a glimpse into the circumstances of their captivity.

The aggravated murder counts stem from the unlawful termination of Jane Doe 1′s pregnancy in late 2006 or early 2007, the indictment says.

Ariel Castro was arrested May 6, 2013 after Amanda Berry was able to scape from Casto’s ‘House of Horrors’ by breaking through a door at the home, yelled to neighbors for help. She was able to borrow a cell phone from and tell the 911 operator, “Help me. I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been kidnapped, and I’ve been missing for 10 years, and I’m, I’m here, I’m free now.”

From the Anchorage Daily News, “Less than twelve hours later, the 24-year-old is alleged to have killed an elderly couple and sexually assaulted their 2-year-old great-granddaughter after slipping through an open window at the family’s Mountain View apartment”. UNREAL!!!  Active has been charged with murder, sexual assault, sexual abuse of a minor and burglary. A judge set his bail at $1.5 million on Sunday. There should not have even been a bail set for this danger to society.

Alaska Double Murder: Jerry Active, 24, charged with killing elderly couple, sexually assaulting toddler … arrested running away from scene in his boxers.

Jerry Andrew Active was arrested Saturday night as he fled the east Anchorage homicide scene dressed only in boxer shorts and socks. He is charged with first and second-degree murder, sexual assault and burglary in the deaths of Touch Chea, 71, and his wife, Sorn Sreap, 73. Police said Sreap and the toddler were raped.

A man suspected of beating an elderly Alaska couple to death and sexually assaulting their 2-year-old great-granddaughter over the weekend had been released from jail just hours earlier, according to Alaska Department of Corrections records.

Jerry Andrew Active, 24, was released from the Anchorage Correctional Complex where he was doing time for a probation violation shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday, according to the Anchorage Daily News. The attacks on the couple and the toddler occurred less than 12 hours later after he got into an apartment on the east side of the city by climbing in through an open window, police said.

• violated his probation repeatedly, sometimes being re-arrested on the very day he got out of jail.

WTF … I refer to the following as the Failed System axiom for sexual predators. How many times did this sexual predator have to assault innocent victims and violate his parole? Obviously, he needed to murder before he would be taken seriously. Sad, so very sad.

DNA Test Confirm that Ohio Kidnap Suspect Ariel Castro Fathered 6 Year Old Girl Rescued from Cleveland House of Horrors

In what is probably considered the most obvious conclusion of a DNA paternity test ever, it has been confirmed that Ariel Castro is the father of the 6 year old girl who was also rescued from Castro’s House of Horrors earlier this week. Officials also entered Castro’s DNA profile into a national database to see if it links him to other crimes. The profile didn’t match any other Ohio cases, but national results were still pending. Castro has been charged with 4 counts of kidnapping and 3 counts of rape of Amanda Berry, Gina Dejesus and Michelle Knight.  Kidnap victim Amanda Berry is the mother of the six year old girl.

As relatives of the Cleveland kidnapping and rape suspect recounted claims of his unnerving paranoia and violent outbursts, DNA testing confirmed the man accused of holding three women captive for nearly a decade is the father of a 6-year-old girl who also escaped from the house.

Ariel Castro, charged with rape and kidnapping, remained jailed Friday under a suicide watch on $8 million bond while prosecutors weighed more charges, including some that might carry the death penalty. Public defender Kathleen Demetz, who said she is acting as Castro’s adviser while he awaits a full-time attorney, said Friday she can’t speak to his guilt or innocence and said only that she advised him not to talk to reporters.
