Louisiana Sheriff Deputy Detective David F. Michel Jr.

A sheriff’s deputy in a New Orleans suburb was just about to search a suspect when the 19-year-old flipped around, pulled out a gun and reaching over the officer, shot him in the back, a Louisiana sheriff said, calling the incident a “cold blooded murder.”

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand late Wednesday said the suspect, identified as Jerman Neveaux, was later apprehended and admitted to shooting Detective David F. Michel Jr. The sheriff said Neveaux was on probation for a previous crime and didn’t want to go to jail if Michel found the weapon he was carrying.

“So he killed the deputy,” Normand said. “What do you say about that?”

The sheriff said the officer had noticed Neveaux walking behind another person who appeared to be nervous, so he pulled over. Michel approached Neveaux and placed him up against the police vehicle so he could search him, Normand said. But Neveaux flipped around, “went chest to chest” with the officer, pulled out a gun and shot him in the back.

“As Detective Michel fell to the ground, he fired two more shots at point-blank range into the back of Detective Michel,” Normand said.

Federal Grand Jury Could Charge Wife, Noor Salman, of Orlando Nightclub Shooter Omar Mateen

WHAT DID SHE KNOW AND WHY DIDN’T SHE SAY ANYTHING?

Is it possible that the deadliest mass shooting in American history could have easily been prevented? It certainly is starting to look that way. A federal grand jury has been convened to look into possible wrongdoing by the wife, Noor Salman, of the gunman who killed 49 people at an Orlando gay nightclub. Possible criminal charges could be brought against her. As reported at NBC News, Noor Salman feared he was going to attack a gay nightclub overnight Saturday and pleaded with him not to do anything violent, but failed to warn police after he left. WHO DOES THIS? How on earth do you dot say something? She feared he was going to go to the Pulse nightclub and shoot someone and she still did not notify the authorities. UNREAL.

A federal grand jury has been convened to look into possible wrongdoing by the wife of the gunman who killed 49 people at an Orlando gay nightclub, and criminal charges could be brought against her early as Wednesday, a law enforcement source said.

Omar Mateen’s wife, Noor Salman, knew of his plans for what became the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, said the law enforcement source who has been briefed on the matter.

“It appears she had some knowledge of what was going on,” said U.S. Senator Angus King, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which received a briefing on the attack.

“She definitely is, I guess you would say, a person of interest right now and appears to be cooperating and can provide us with some important information,” King told CNN.

Salman was with Mateen when he cased out possible targets for an attack in the past two months, including the Disney World resort in April, then a shopping complex called Disney Springs and the Pulse nightclub in early June, CNN and NBC reported.

22 Year Old Former ‘Voice’ Singer Christina Grimmie Dead, Shot to Death Following Orlando Concert (Update: Gunman Kills Himself)

TRAGIC

22 year old Christina Grimmie  has been shot dead following her concert in Orlando, Florida. The former NBC “The Voice” singer was shot to death while she signed autographs for fans following her concert. Grimmie was performing with the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live on Bumby Avenue. The gunman, who was described as a 21-year-old white man, walked toward Grimmie with two guns and shot her. The unidentified gunman shot himself in a scuffle following the shooting. Sadly, Grimmie has taken to a local area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Hours before what would be her last concert, singer Christina Grimmie jovially invited fans to see her show in central Florida in a video that she posted on social media on Friday afternoon.

Not long after, the former star of NBC’s “The Voice” would be dead — shot by a man who walked up to her after the performance in Orlando, police said.

The man who shot and killed singer Christina Grimmie in Orlando on Friday night was not from that central Florida city, and “traveled to Orlando apparently to commit this crime,” Orlando Police Chief John Mina told reporters Saturday.

The gunman — who authorities say fatally shot himself after shooting Grimmie — was a 21-year-old white man, and had two handguns, two additional loaded magazines and a large hunting knife, Mina said.

REST IN PEACE

At some point during the interaction with fans, the gunman, who was described as a 21-year-old white man, walked toward Grimmie with two guns and shot her.

At a news conference Saturday, police said the gunman was not from the area. They said he was carrying two extra magazines of ammunition and a hunting knife.

Police said Grimmie’s brother immediately tackled the assailant, and during the subsequent struggle, he shot himself.

UPDATE I: Police: Suspect specifically targeted Christina Grimmie.

The 27-year-old man, whose name police did not release, travelled to The Plaza Live theater with two small-caliber handguns Friday night. He walked up to Grimmie, who was signing autographs after the show, and shot her at about 10:30 p.m., Police Chief John Mina said. Her brother immediately tackled the suspect and the man shot himself at the scene.

The man came to Orlando from another city in Florida with the intention of killing Grimmie, Mina said. He declined to say which city.

Mina said no car was found at the venue and police believe the man arranged transportation to and from the venue. No detail was given about how he originally arrived in Orlando.

Jose Baez to Defend Aaron Hernandez in Double Murder Case

HE’S BACK … HMM, LOOKS LIKE A CERTAIN ATTORNEY WANTS MORE TV FACE TIME .

It would appear that Aaron Hernandez has hired new counsel for his double murder trial. Jose Baez, yes that Jose Baez, announced on Wednesday that he will be defending former New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez in his upcoming double-murder trial. Aaron Hernandez has already been convicted in 2015 of a murder in Massachusetts, is charged with shooting to death two men, Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, in 2012 outside a Boston nightclub.

A top Florida lawyer who stunned the nation when he won a murder acquittal for a mother accused of killing her toddler has taken on another high-profile, high-hurdle case.

Jose Baez announced Wednesday he was defending former New England Patriot standout Aaron Hernandez in his upcoming double-murder trial.

Baez, best known for his defense of Casey Anthony, said he realized Hernandez was the subject of much speculation in the court of public opinion — after being indicted in three homicides — but asked the public to keep an open mind “and let the facts unfold in a court of law.”

Of course we all know Jose Baez as the Florida defense attorney who gained fame during the Casey Anthony murder trial in 2011 where a just of fools inexplicably found the tot mom “not guilty as sin” of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. So what else would Hernandez have to lose than hiring Baez, he already got one murderer off Scott free. Hmm, better be careful Aaron, just how do you plan on paying for Jose’s services?

People have speculated why Baez would take such a case. Are you joking? Baez will get all the face time in the world as he has attached himself to a high profile case and there really is no expectation that he will win.
