Virginia Democrat Rep. James P. Moran Says “The American People Should Know that the Members of Congress are Underpaid” at $174,000
These politicians are so out of touch with the American people and what is going on in the real world that they need to be fired and sent back to it …
US Rep. James Moran (VA-D) told CQ Roll Call that, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” Moran went on to say that with their $172,000 a year salary, many in Congress cannot “afford to live decently in Washington”. UNDERPAID, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Are we supposed to feel pity for these hacks who have pretty much forgot the reason why they are even in Washington, DC? As Weasel Zippers opines, “So he makes $3,300 per week and we’re supposed to feel bad for him?”
It is the Democrat party mindset where these fools think they should get raises for doing nothing, except things that are detrimental to America and Americans.
Virginia Democrat James P. Moran said he plans to highlight the injustice by introducing an amendment to the Legislative Branch bill during its full committee markup, and at floor consideration of the bill. Moran made the comments while the bill that funds member’s $174,000 salaries was being marked up in the Legislative Branch subcommittee.
“I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid,” Moran told CQ Roll Call. “I understand that it’s widely felt that they underperform, but the fact is that this is the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world.
“Our pay has been frozen for three years and we’re planning on freezing it a fourth year. … A lot of members can’t even afford to live decently in Washington,” he said.
This Moron Moran is complaining about having their pay frozen … welcome to the economic world that you, Barack Obama and the rest of the Democrats have created in a jobless recovery. This is just one of the reasons why the people give Congress such a low approval rating. Most politicians have forgot who they work for. With the work product they have put forward, had they been in the real world, individual like Moran would have been fired.
I have a better idea Mr. Moran, go get a real job!!! You were not sent to DC to get rich. If you do not like the pay, then resign from office and go find a job like the rest of America has to in this Obama jobless America. Personally, I think their pay should be cut in half and they should only be in Washington if they have to.They should be made to work the rest of the time in the private sector to deal with the garbage laws they pass.

Barack Obama’s Chickens are Coming Home to Roost
Obama’s Chickens coming home to roost means American’s goose is cooked …
I would add it is more than a mere coincidence that everything that Obama has done in his six years in office has made the United States of America a weaker nation. whether it be domestic or foreign policy, Obama has done what many believe is irreparable damage to the US. One would almost say, it would be impossible to get so many things wrong. One might even say it was intentional.
It is impossible to dismiss as mere coincidence the Russian Bear’s invasion of Ukraine and the continuing mayhem of the Affordable Care Act. In their own ways, each reflects the full flowering of the policies of Barack Obama.
His chickens are coming home to roost, and what a mess they are making.
Obama’s sixth year in the White House is shaping up as his worst, and that’s saying something. He’s been in the Oval Office so long that it is obscene to blame his problems on George W. Bush, the weather or racism. Obama owns the world he made, or more accurately, the world he tried to remake.
Nothing important has worked as promised, and there is every reason to believe the worst is yet to come. The president’s casual remark the other day that he worries about “a nuclear weapon going off in Manhattan” inadvertently reflected the fear millions of Americans have about his leadership. Not necessarily about a bomb, but about where he is taking the country.
Sen. Angus King (ME-I) Says, “There’s no such thing as Obamacare.”
I BET DEMOCRATS AND THOSE WHO CAUCUS WITH THEM BET THEIR BOTTOM DOLLAR THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS OBAMACARE …
Democrats and Indy liberals can’t run away from Obama’s signature piece of legislation fast enough. Now those who brought you Obamacare want to tell you there is no such thing as Obamacare. Nothing can be trusted what comes out of their mouths.
This morning on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, Independent Senator Angus King from Maine, who caucuses with Democrats, stated that there was no such thing as Obamacare. This clown is actually trying to make it appear that it is the private insurance companies that are to blame and use their name. Trust me from personal first hand experience, HHS is dictating to all carriers every aspect of how these plans look, walk and talk.
Oh, only if that were true and we could dare to dream. However, sadly there is Obamacare and as we are reminded by Democrats, it is the law of the land. Make no mistake about it Sen. King, the Democrats that you align yourself with are solely responsible for this disastrous healthcare train wreck as it was rammed down the throats of all Americans by a strictly Democrat partisan vote in the Senate (60-40) and in the House. Not one Republican in either chamber voted for Obamacare. Democrats own it and Democrats will choke on it!
“Two points if I may, sir,” says Fox host Chris Wallace. “One, then why is Harry Reid saying he’s not going to allow a vote on the fixes? And, two, speak directly and briefly, because we’re about to run out of time, to Senator Barrasso’s comment that a lot of doctors, a lot of hospitals are being excluded by what Obamacare is offering.”
“Now, now that’s a big — There is no such thing as Obamacare. You can’t sign up for Obamacare. You sign up for an Anthem policy or an Aetna policy or a WellPoint policy. It’s private insurance,” said King.
Sen. John Barrasso (WY-R), also appearing on FNS, stated regarding the so-called 6 million sign-ups for Obamacare, that the “White House was cooking the books”. and claiming that the signup numbers are far different than the enrollment numbers versus those that have actually paid their first premium.
“I don’t think [six million] means anything, Chris,” he began. “I think they’re cooking the books on this. People want to know the answers to that. They also want to know, when this is all said and done, what kind of insurance will those actually have?”
“Will they be able to keep the doctor that they want?” he continued. “How much more is it going to cost them? And we know that the best cancer hospitals in the country want very little to do with people that actually buy this insurance on the Obamacare exchanges.
Hey Angus, don’t tell Barack Obama there is no such thing as Obamacare. Because that would mean he has done zero as president and remember, Barack does not mind calling it Obamacare because He cares.
Leading Democratic Pollster Celinda Lake Says to Democrats, “Don’t Defend” Obamacare … Also Predicts “Huge Turnout Disadvantage” in 2014 for Dems
Democrats Obamacare chickens are coming home to roost …
Earlier this week, following the release of the George Washington University Battleground poll, leading Democratic pollster Celinda Lake, whose firm Lake Research Partners provides the Democratic analysis for that bipartisan poll, told Democrats two things they did not want to hear. One, defend Obamacare at your own peril and two, the GOP is going to have a huge voter turnout advantage in the 2014 midterm elections. At a briefing hosted by the Christian Science Monitor Lake said, “In terms of Obamacare, don’t defend it. Say it was flawed from the beginning, and we’re going to fix it.” Lake also said that the poll indicated that 64% of Republicans say they are “extremely likely” to vote in November’s midterms, compared with 57% of Democrats. Obamacare will be an albatross around the political necks of Democrats.
Full poll results can be read here.
A leading Democratic pollster predicted a “sobering” turnout disadvantage for her party in this year’s midterm elections and called on Democrats to articulate “a bigger economic agenda” this fall.
“There is a huge turnout disadvantage and challenge,” Democratic pollster Celinda Lake said Tuesday at a breakfast with reporters. “There is always a challenge in turnout in an off year, but it’s really dramatic this time.”
Lake was speaking a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. Lake and Republican pollster Ed Goeas revealed results of a new George Washington University poll that showed GOP voter intensity in 2014 outpacing Democratic intensity by seven points.
The poll indicated that 64% of Republicans say they are “extremely likely” to vote in November’s midterms, compared with 57% of Democrats.
So, what does she mean say it was flawed from the beginning? That Obama and Democrats knew that Obamacare was based on a lie to the America people that they could keep their healthcare plan, doctors and hospital, if they liked them and they voted to pass it anyhow? Going to fix it? How does one fix something that is so inherently flawed and based on a lie? How does one fix something so unpopular and most of the pain has not even been experienced by the American people because it has been purposely delayed by Barack Obama for political reasons.
Obamacare was never a popular idea, bill or law with the American people. It never garnered a majority of popular support with “We the People”. Now even those who were some what in favor or were willing to give it a chance realize it was all based on a lie. The 2014 midterm elections will right the wrong of the 2012 elections that we now know was a fraudulent election based upon lies and scandals.
Iowa’s Republican Senate Candidate Joni Ernst Says, I’ll Castrate DC’s Spending and Cut Pork
Let’s make DC pork spender squeal like a pig!!!
Joni Ernst, a GOP candidate for the US Senate in Iowa has certainly made a splash on the scene with a memorable political ad. If you have not already watched it, please take a look at the video below. The Conservative Republican candidate promises to cut pork when she gets to Washington. What are her qualifications you ask? Joni Ernst grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm that’s how, so when she gets to DC, she will know how to cut pork. OUCH!!! Ernst promises to cut wasteful spending, repeal Obamacare and balance the budget. Sounds like exactly what is needed to turn things around in the Senate and save America. Joni Ernst and several other Republicans are vying for the open Iowa Senate seat of the retiring Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin.
“I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm, so when I get to Washington, I’ll know how to cut pork.”
“My parents taught us to live within our means. It’s time to force Washington to do the same.”
Former Alaska governor and Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin is endorsing state Sen. Joni Ernst, a candidate in the Iowa Senate race, following Ernst’s tongue-in-cheek ad about castrating D.C. pork. The endorsement was made on Palin’s Facebook page:
“If Nebraska’s Deb Fischer can see through the bull in Washington, then Iowa’s Joni Ernst can help her cut through the pork,” Palin wrote. “Growing up on a hog farm in Southwest Iowa, Joni has taken her ‘pork cutting’ skills to the Iowa State Senate, where she has been a champion for life, small government, and lower taxes – voting for the largest tax cut in Iowa history.”
Posted alongside a picture of Ernst in uniform, Palin was paying homage to the TV ad Ernst released on Tuesday.
More from Real Clear Politics on the other GOP candidates vying for the nomination and missteps of Democrat leading candidate U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, who was caught on camera at the closed-press event suggesting that Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley is unfit to become the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman.
Ernst is one of a half-dozen Republicans vying to take on U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, the likely Democratic nominee, for the right to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin.
Braley has been considered the favorite but faced significant blowback this week over comments he made at a Texas fundraiser. The four-term congressman was caught on camera at the closed-press event suggesting that Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley is unfit to become the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman — should the GOP win control of the upper chamber — because he is a “farmer from Iowa who never went to law school.”
Braley later apologized for his remark, but Iowa Republicans seized upon it in an effort to portray the Democrat as being out of touch with the values of the farming-heavy state.
