Oh This Is Priceless; Prostitutes Exploited?

Spanish Unions look to save prostitutes from exploitation. But who will save them from the Unions?

Hundreds of thousands of prostitutes working in Spain urgently need labor rights to prevent them from being exploited, one of Spain’s most prominent union leaders said Wednesday.

“In a civilized country, we cannot tolerate a non-regulated sector where hundreds of thousands of people, particularly women and immigrants, are being exploited,” he told journalists ahead of a May 26 conference on rights for sex workers the union is organizing.

So the organization of a Union is going to cause prostitutes not to be exploited? Really. Don’t prostitutes already have unions? They are called pimps. Call it what ever you want there will always be exploitation, just a matter of where it comes from and what you call it.

Desperation; Zarqawi Tape Says Killing of Muslims Is Justified

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in order to justify his being has now transformed the Muslim religion from one of “peace” to one that states the killing of fellow Muslims is justified in attacks against U.S. soldiers and Iraqi security forces. Now it is OK for Muslims to kill Muslim’s in order to kill Americans, this will forever be know as the Zarqawi Principle.

The Zarqawi Principle states that the friend of your enemy is your enemy as should die even tough they are your own people and follow the same religion. The Principle also states that ant death that Zarqawi does is justified at any cost. Who really thinks that Mohammad is buying this?

“God ordered us to attack the infidels by all means … even if armed infidels and unintended victims — women and children — are killed together,” the speaker said. “The priority is for jihad so anything that slows down jihad should be overcome.”

The speaker on the tape argues that deaths of Muslims in insurgent violence are justified if it is impossible to avoid such bloodshed, saying the call to holy war is too important to be hindered.

Didn’t Jim Jones make this same comment right before everyone drank the Kool-Aide in Jonestown? At least Jim Jones took part in the drink himself which is more than I can say for Zarqawi killing innocent women and children and sending suicide bombers off to do his dirty work while he plans the events. I guess the war must be “too important” for Zarqawi to take part up close and personal?

So not only is Zarqawi saying that its OK to kill Muslims, but all people who try to rebuild Iraq in the Government are traitors and can be killed as well.

The man purported to be Zarqawi, who like the bulk of Iraqi insurgents is a Sunni Muslim, denounced Iraq’s Shiite Muslims as collaborators with the Americans and said leaders of the country’s Shiite-led government were traitors to Islam. The recording accused Shiite militias of assassinating Sunni leaders, kidnapping Sunni women and seizing mosques since the U.S.-led invasion two years ago.

This menace will stop at nothing to promote violence among his own people.

“We know who is killing the imams and preachers of the mosques. We know who is killing people going to prayers. The ones responsible for these killings are the Badr Brigades,” Harith Dhari, the head of the Association of Muslim Scholars, a Sunni religious organization, said in a televised address.

What kind of an individual promotes such hatred, violence and death among his own people? The promotion of death of Muslims. The Iraqi people are beginning to see what this mad man is all about. But remember this same man that justifies the death of people of his own faith is also considered a freedom fighter in certain circles.

Howard Dean, Just Keep Talking

Freedom of speech is a great thing and some people just don’t know when to stop. Howard Dean is a perfect example of sometimes too much speech is a bad thing.

Howard Dean, national chairman of the Democratic Party, said Tuesday that he thinks House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has committed crimes that could put the Republican in jail.

I realize Dean is a doctor and not a lawyer, but I am sure the former Governor of Vermont is familiar with the presumption of innocence that we have in our great land. He seemed to be aware of it when he referred to Bin Laden in 2004 during the Democratic primaries.

DeLay’s office fought back with Dean’s own words from the 2004 presidential campaign. The former Vermont governor had maintained that even terrorist leader Osama bin Laden should not be pre-judged if captured.

“I’ve resisted pronouncing a sentence before guilt is found,” Dean said during the 2004 Democratic primary campaign. “I still have this old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama, who is very likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials.”

I guess Howard Dean has a different set of standards for US Representative Tom Delay than he does a known terrorist like Osama Bin Laden? Looking at the big picture; isn’t this Dean’s & the Democratic Party’s larger issue? They have no idea who America’s biggest enemies are. The Democratic Party by electing Dean their Party chair has attached themselves to the most radical and nonsensical wing of the party. The Democrats must now ride the wave of the mental stability of what is known as the Dean Scream Machine.

Looks like one of the video kings seem to agree. Trey Jackson sends his best, “Hugs and kisses, Howie. Don’t ever shut up”. And a friendly hello from the Captain’s Quarters, “How long will the Democrats allow this lunatic to represent them as the head of the party”?

UPDATE TO: Another Airplane Diverted to Bangor, Maine

*** UPDATE***

Scroll down to the update link and read an amazing personal account of one individuals account, Blogger Nick Genes, of being on Alitalia flight 618 when it was diverted to Bangor, ME.

It would appear that for the second time in a week an International flight to the United States is being diverted to Bangor International Airport. This time it is an Alitalia jet en route from Milan, Italy to Boston, MA where it seems that a passenger on the flight matched that of a person on the U.S. government’s no-fly list.

Flight 618 landed shortly before 1 p.m after Canadian and U.S. fighter jets escorted the Boeing 767 to Bangor, where it was met by federal agents. It had been due to arrive in Boston about the same time.

It was the second time in less than a week that a Boston-bound European flight was diverted to Bangor. On Thursday, an Air France flight from Paris landed there because someone on board had nearly the same name and birth date as a person on the list of suspected terrorists.

Bangor International Airport has become a stopping-off point for problem flights because it is the last major U.S. airport for jets headed across the Atlantic and the first for incoming flights.

Let’s just hope that they diverted this plane for a good reason this time. Then again maybe we shouldn’t wish this. I guess the one explanation I would ask for is why can’t this be done when the plane is on the ground? It would seem a bit disconcerting being on a plane bound for Bangor, ME knowing there might be a terrorist on board. They may want to rethink the passenger list thing at Homeland Security.

UPDATE: A MUST READ
Get a first hand personal account of what it was like to be on the Alitalia flight 618 from the Blogborygmi. In his own words, Nick Genes :

When I explained that the luggage search, refueling, and flying home would take at least another hour, Mom asked what we were still doing on this plane. It’s a good question: if this man is wanted by the US, and dangerous enough to prompt a landing at the first available international airport on US soil, why not evacuate the plane during the luggage search? Wasn’t it possible we were sitting on a on a ticking bomb?

Staples Earnings Soar

Staples’ earnings up 27%.

The Framingham company said first-quarter net income rose to $159.4 million from $125.7 million in the same period last year, cushioning its lead as the nation’s number one office supply chain.

For the first time, Staples, which saw total sales grow 13 percent to $3.9 billion from $3.45 billion in the same quarter a year ago, made forays into Chicago. The office supplies giant opened eight stores in the city, going head-to-head with rivals Office Depot Inc. and OfficeMax Inc. of Itasca, Ill. — companies that have long dominated this Midwest market.

For as often as I use and frequent Staples, I feel personally responsible for these numbers. Seriously, Staples has charged to the top of the office supply mountain and has not forgotten that customer service is a valuable tool. The store service people are at your side to answer any question and find anything within the store with their hand helds. The Staples on-line ordering systems is also phenomenal. To top it off, shipments that are actually on time.
