Is it True? Is There a Michelle Obama “Whitey” Tape??? If So Barack Obama Best Get the Tylenol and Pepto

It has been widely rumored that a Michelle Obama “Whitey” tape exists that could cause major damage to the Barack Obama campaign. It is now being reported by a GOP analyst that there actually is such a tape. Wouldn’t this be priceless if it actually does exist? A future First Lady using the term “whitey”. If so as Stop the ACLU states, Obama is toast.

Read the transcript here from the Geraldo Rivera show.

Larry Johnson at No Quarter had earlier stated the following regarding the what could be explosive and damaging tape.

New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.

As the Gateway Pundit also puts forth, if there is such a tape and it is released in the 11th hour prior to the final two Democratic primaries on Tuesday … this is all about the Hillary Clinton camp and not Republicans. We had always joked that Hillary Clinton would release embarrassing and compromising Obama picture with farm anaimals during this campaign as a last ditch effort. We were being sarcastic. However, it looks like the pic may be a tape instead.  Is it urban legend or real? We shall have to wait and see at 9:00am today. One thing if it is for real, the Obama camp will be screaming is a fake or you can’t attack Barack’s wife, Michelle Obama.

UPDATE I: Where is the tape? From No Quarter, they learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about “whitey” describe it as “STUNNING.” Well if you are going to say you are going to produce the tape … produce it already.

I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks. Whoops!! When that image comes out it will enter the politcal ads hall of fame. It will be right up there with the little girl plucking daisy petals in the famous 1964 ad LBJ used against Barry Goldwater.

I think Whitey is voting for McCain.

    2. Rusty Bridges on June 2nd, 2008 8:51 am

I know of one for sure that is voting McCain.

I wonder what Obama will do if it is true? Divorce her, but not denounce her?

I heard that Tom Cruise’s family was off limits, but not Obama’s. But then Tom Cruise isn’t running for office and some were saying his infant daughter was the spawn of the devil. If that had been a Baldwin brother, there would have been blood. Michelle Obama is not off limits and thank goodness I live in America where my right to say that is protected by the Constitution.

if this is true .. it’s over for him.. what!! they all of a sudden like whites .. because that’s the thing to do if your running for office..get the white votes … charm them… make them think your on their level …when actualy you resent them..obama tells people what they he is in office in office he will more than likely betray the very whities that voted for him…… geez.. how quaint essential is that…

they had been attending wrights church for many many years and seeminly it seems like wrights messages penentated their minds as he harped on the whiteys constantly….

if this man makes it to the WHITEY HOUSE…
      were in big trouble

by the way since she doesnt like whitey pray tell will they paint the whitey house black…????

I MEANT TO SAY OBAMA TELLS PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANNA HEAR.. HEY ITS EARLY MY MINDS STILL ASLEEP

    7. caesu on June 2nd, 2008 10:00 am

      probably not true.
another dirty campaign trick which will backfire.

put some people who can only read one-liners probably think it is true.

it shows again the anti-obama camp can’t find anything solid to attack obama with.
so they start making stuff up.

    8. Miss-Underestiamted on June 2nd, 2008 10:36 am

I will lend the benifit of the doubt, but in reality it would not surprise me, since she only recently is proud to be Ameican.

    9. Rusty Bridges on June 2nd, 2008 10:41 am

They are already starting with the “starting to make stuff up” excuses? That didn’t take long. Nothing solid to attack Obama with? Like the fact that he is a racist and is trying to hide that fact as much as possible. The fact that he is aligned himself with the very people that would like nothing more than to destroy the very principle of this countries foundation. Go bury your head in the sand if you want, Obama is a menace to the greatest country in the world. If he has his way this country will only be what is good for a very few who will end up dragging us all down.

    10. brenda on June 2nd, 2008 10:55 am

Does Michelle realize Obama is 1/2 whitey…or maybe better said as only 1/2 black? Why is it OK to discount your white ancestory ONLY if you are also 1/2 black? Imagine if I were 1/2 black and 1/2 white and fought to only be viewed as a “whitey”??? I would be ABANDONING my black heritage…right? Why isn’t it being shown that Obama is “abandoning” HIS white heritage? I hear very, little of it.

Is it ok if I notice THEY ARE INSANE!??

      this is clearly made up.
just as all the out of context and false qoutes and guild by association crap that is going around on right-wing blogs and viral spam e-mails.

this is only encouraging for the obama campaign that this is the best they can come up with to attack him with. :)

they really have to do better if they want to defeat obama.
clearly most people are fed up with being lied to after 8 years.

    13. Rusty Bridges on June 2nd, 2008 12:41 pm

caesu, The Che Guevera flag in his office was photoshopped I guess. The decision to not wear the American flag lapel pin to show his allegiance was just a fashion statement? Refusing to show respect to America by placing his hand over his heart during the National Anthem was just because why? Failure to remove himself from a hate mongering pastor until it is only advantages to his political carrer is gutless. He claims to be Christian, but is sworn into office with his hand over the Koran. This change he his talking about, what is it exactly? I don’t know because he hasn’t had the stones to actually tell us what it is. Has he told Wright and Farrahkan? I’ll bet they all know what the big “change” is. The problem I personally have with him, I don’t know what he stands for. Is he just running to be the first black President? All I have to go on is his track record. He never votes as a Senator and surrounds himself with America haters. So maybe you can tell me what he stands for. He seems to me as a person with no real goal and doesn’t deserve my vote.

      Hey Rusty…First 1/2 black president ;>)

    15. LilPuma on June 2nd, 2008 1:18 pm

13 Rusty Bridges. You can read about his stand on issues at http://www.barackobama.com/issues. I couldn’t get in thru the front door of the site without giving my name and address, so put the /issues in.

If I can’t trust Obama to see the darker side of people with whom he’s been friends for years, friends like Wright and Pfleger, how can I trust him to use good judgment in a short meeting with Ahmadinejad?

His solution to foreign policy issues is sanctions, task forces, committees, and US$$. I do agree that military action is a last resort. He speaks of genocide in Africa’s war-torn nations and has appropriated money to help solve those problems. No word on how those methods are working. IMO, we hear too little about this from our media. No word on the genocide by Hussein against the Kurds, other than he was opposed to the war in Iraq.

In case you missed my post on a previous article, he takes pride in his health care plan, pointing out that his plan will provide health insurance to 7 million illegals.

+the flag lapel pin. are you being serious?
since when does one need to wear that to be patriotic.
a flag pin doesn’t change anything.
the biggest terrorist can wear a flag pin.
look at the deeds, not the decoration.

this is an urban legend. but feel free to be misinformed if that makes you feel better.

      still no tape of course.

as expected another hoax out of the always busy but increasingly desperate rumor mill. LOL

but it bet this urban legend will be copy-pasted posted everywhere.
and everyone who wants to have their prejudices confirmed takes it for fact.

    20. lotte lenya on June 2nd, 2008 7:15 pm

Of course it’s true. Barack Obama is deeply tied to every Chicago area black nationalist. In Chicago it’s ok to be a black nationalist, anti-gay, an anti-Zionist, a pan-African/Islamic Socialist, a whitey hater and a Senator all at the same time! Just ask Senator James T. Meeks aka Pastor Meeks.

There would truly be no reason for Michelle Obama to think twice about screaming whitey while in the presence of Farrakhan. It’s just the culture and or corruption of the city.

I’m guessing the tape predates Barack’s decision to run for President…BAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

    21. katablog on June 2nd, 2008 8:50 pm

What is truly “enlightening” about Obama is to find out the party he ran his first political race in. It was called the New Party and is totally aligned with ACORN – the people that get out the illegal vote anyway they can. The New Party was a socialist / Marxist party with the intend of taking down capitalism and introducing a new third party. Obama sought them out. Jeremiah Wright is also in bed with ACORN.

Now whether the “Whitey” tape is true or not, I’ve got no clue, but I do know this, it “fits” with the Trinity church, it fits with Michele’s “proud to be an American” comment, it fits with Pfleger, it fits with throwing Obama’s white grandmother under the bus, it fits with the Che flag, it fits with the flag pin and no hand over the heart when the pledge or allegiance or Star Spangled Banner and it fits with the ACORN and New Party. So it’s certainly “possible”.

Yep, change you can believe in, but certainly not change you want!

Inside the beltway it’s ok to be an adulterous, cradlerobbing, racist, lobbyist-owned, scandalous swiftboater.
There’s a reason Cindy McCain didn’t go to jail after getting caught stealing drugs. It’s the culture of the privileged.

Ceasu- you really need to CAN it, Buddy. I am not even going to try to argue my opinion or points to you—instead—just go to

POST # 16- by Rusty Bridges and CAREFULLY re-read every word. It is 100% accurate and expresses the sentiments and thoughts of many Americans that I know today.

So, if there is a “whitey” tape somewhere out there—great! But I say, even though Obama may get the Dem nod as early as next week …he still will not win the general election.

Of course, there is always the chance that I’ll have to eat my own words in November. If he does suceed–we are all in trouble! I will move to Canada, I swear to God.

    24. A New Girl on June 2nd, 2008 9:07 pm

Ceasu— Rusty’s post was # 13 — Sorry about that. Anyway- read it and weep. Every word of it is true.

“He claims to be Christian, but is sworn into office with his hand over the Koran.”

New Girl – prove to me that’s true?
If I prove to you that is 100% false, will you concede that “not every word of it is true”, and not “100% accurate”?

Can you link to a picture of Obama swearing in with the Koran?
Should be easy – link to the picture.

      read it and weep: http://tinyurl.com/5np366

      #23 & #24 A New Girl

i’ve read every word #13 Rusty wrote carefully.
it is definitely NOT 100% accurate.
      maybe 5% at most.
correction: i read it again and it is 0% accurate.

anyone with who is able to use their own brain and start an independent thinking process knows that.

but you are right that many have those thoughts and sentiments.
and that’s a shame, because it is not based on facts.
just on rumors out of the right-wing rumor mill.

if you just had to courage to see that…

lets go at one thing Rusty wrote:
“obama was sworn in on the Koran.”
      total bull crap! :D
but believe it if that’s makes you happy… ;)

Is it true that when Obama was sworn into office he used the Koran (Qur’an) instead of the Bible?

No. According to news accounts Barack Obama placed his right hand on his personal Bible during his Senate swearing-in ceremony, which was conducted by Vice-President Dick Cheney. Those making this allegation have apparently confused Obama with Congressman Keith Ellison, who actually is a Muslim and was sworn in on January 4, 2007 using a copy of the Koran.

      http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_barack_obama_muslim.htm

so many false urban legends going around about obama on the right-wing blogs. they got copied pasted all over the internet.
what is the driving force behind this?
is there then really nothing substantial to attack obama with?
so the only way is to use rumors and false quotes and guild by association…

unfortunately in a country so gullible that swallowed 8 years of lies from the President there they easily believe in urban legends that confirm their prejudices.

    28. yoyo muffintop on June 2nd, 2008 10:46 pm

Hey, ya know what? Let’s bring back Bush for 3rd term because there’s no threat of an attack from Muslim extremists with him at the helm. The Muslim world really likes him – they’re always throwing him parades and chanting his name. Why change things, we wouldn’t want to give bin Laden any reason to attack us.

Think about it…some of us still have jobs, gas isn’t $10 a gallon, and we aren’t in a war with everybody yet.
There’s still work to be done! 4 more for Bush!

    29. yoyo muffintop on June 2nd, 2008 11:38 pm

Ahhhhh – a tried and true Republican tactic…portray the Democratic opponent as a communist. While they instead portray the Republican nominee as our patriotic Savior.

And when Republicans label someone as “Marxist” there should be a translation for the American public. Instead of the word Marxist (or Marxian to use the Rovian reference) the code word “boogeyman” should be inserted.
      _________
SM: Obama is not a communist.

He is a socialist. Worse yet, he is either an incompetent novice or a calculating win at all cost politician. In either case … it makes him typical. No different than any other politician which he claimed to be.
      R

    30. A New Girl on June 3rd, 2008 4:42 am

Ceasu, you said “unfortunately in a country so gullible that swallowed 8 years of lies from the President there they easily believe in urban legends that confirm their prejudices.”

Please do NOT lump me into that category ok?? That is one part of your post that I will agree with. And, NEWS FLASH ! All Politicians lie- get real would you please?

      And to #25- Yoyo
      as far as this goes:

lets go at one thing Rusty wrote:
“obama was sworn in on the Koran.”
      total bull crap!
but believe it if that’s makes you happy…

I guess after reading what you posted…I don’t truly believe that either…probably is an urban legend or not entirely factual, and no I cannot prove or disprove that one nor do I care to.

I will still defend the crux of Rusty’s post in #13. And you can both continue to believe what you want to about BARRACK HUSSIEN OBAMA.

You both seem too educated to vote for such an Elitist, Anti-American RACIST—but go right ahead and keep drinking his “Kool Aide”.

Tell me the following things, please specifically—#1. What does the MAN STAND FOR??
#2. What do you think about his CHARACTER, and EXPERIENCE??
#3. Show me or tell me WHERE his PROVEN ABILITY is to act as the leader of our Nation??

So, Barrack is a good Orator and impressive to listen to—that is about ALL I will give him. His own words continue to be the gift that keeps on giving….Same with Michelle.

Save all your other rhetoric though and please just address the questions above I have asked you both. These are the points in Rusty Bridges post that I believe were/are 100% accurate. Would you also care to address the whole Reverend Wright mess? lol No, you’d rather ignore that, too and blame his association with the man for over 20 years who baptized Barrack’s own children on what???? Oh, wait- I know- you are both just going to throw around more accusations about “Right Wing” blogs or groups again, correct?

P.S. I am obviously able to use my own brain and am quite the independent thinker, thank you very much.

Again, I’d like to see the BOTH of you respond above to the 3 questions. Give it a shot.

    33. A New Girl on June 3rd, 2008 6:55 am

Yoyo Muffinhead and Ceasu—Here is something else for you to consider…..

      Subject: The 545 people
This is the simplest, most understandable explanation of the woes of the nation and who caused them, as well as how to cure them. This should be sent to every person in the U.S., including the ’545′.

      ————————————————–

      545 People
      By Charlie Reese –
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy, The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justice s – 545 human beings out of the 300 million – are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thi ng. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.

Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts – of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.
If the Marines are in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ.
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like ‘the economy,’ ‘inflation’ or ‘politics’ that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses – provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

So YoYo, you agree that a Marxist is a communist? Now would you like proof of what I said?

“Obama’s 1996 senate campaign also secured the endorsement of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the largest socialist organization in the United States and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. Obama’s affiliation with DSA was longstanding, as evidenced by his reference, in Dreams From My Father, to the fact that during his student years at Columbia University he “went to socialist conferences at Cooper Union,” a privately funded college for the advancement of science and art. From the early 1980s until 2004, Cooper Union had served as the usual venue of the annual Socialist Scholars Conference. According to Trevor Loudon, guest speakers at these conferences included “members of the Communist Party USA and its offshoot, the Committees of Correspondence, as well as Maoists, Trotsyists, black radicals, gay activists and radical feminists.” Mr. London observes that “Obama speaks of ‘conferences’ plural, indicating [that] his attendance was not the result of accident or youthful curiosity.”

caesu, I’ve been reading left wing sites also. The Dems of this country are very confused as to why everybody in the mainstream media is so in love with this guy. They are I’m sure Hillary supporters for the most part. But the Hillary supporters do make up the majority of the Democrats so I’m confused too. The states that he is winning in Republican states, so when it comes down to the GE he does not stand a chance. So I really don’t care who the Dems decide to go with really, it is a lost cause as far as I’m concerned. As far as the statement I said about the Qu’ran, I apologize if I was incorrect. I’m sure there is a lot of bs out there. There is a lot of bs in a political struggle. All I have to go on is what I feel. When I said that I don’t know what Obama stands for, I did not mean that I havn’t listened our watched him. It was a condensed version of what I meant. He sways with the wind and that is not what I want in a President. I think he can’t tell us what he really feels. If he has been going to a Church for 20 years he must believe in something that this Church stands for. Instead he “half” denounces the Church and quits it. If there is nothing us to be concerned about why didn’t he just state that and continue his relationship with its Pastor? Because he knew the implications of this Church and its radical teachings. I’ll say that much for Rev. Wright, he at least has conviction in his beliefs. If Obama did not agree with the atmosphere of this Church why did he stay for so long? Is he trying to hide from us his beliefs or is he just that wishy washy. Either way I don’t want this person as my President. And please, we have been being lied to for more than 8 years. I surmise that I have been lied to my whole life. That is the way the world works. All I care about is my family’s freedom and safety and the ability to further ourselves. Barack Obamas beliefs are a whole lot different than mine. Do some research and you will find some shocking discoveries. Read Dr. Cones work and tell me if that is what you want, because that is what Barack wants.

#35- Rusty “All I care about is my family’s freedom and safety and the ability to further ourselves”.

DITTO !!!!! That IS the bottom line, right there!

Obama is NOT the man whom I see giving that to my family or our Nation as a whole. Not that I particularly love our choices for candidates this year, however one must go with the BEST of the WORST.

i respect your opinion of course.

but i hope that opinion is not (solely) based on the right wing rumor mill who is putting stuff like this ‘whitey’ rumor out.

the guild by association allegations are unfair IMO.

member of that church doesn’t mean that he agrees with every single word coming from that pulpit.
clearly he doesn’t, i you would take the time to read his books and speeched in context.

and there is some truth in what wright and cone are saying.
as you know the founding of the country is partly based on the oppression of one race.
so not surprisingly some are still a little bit angry about that.
especially when injustices are still taking place.
to name a few: sean bell, jena high.
although a agree that the current generation doesn’t need to apoligize for that.
but some compassion, understanding – is that too much to ask for?

but i don’t think obama is very worried about this rumor mill.
he broke with the church. so that’s behind him now.
some small groups will keep bringing it up again and again, because that’s all they have.
he doesn’t want or need the vote from that xenophobic part of the right anyway i think.

I don’t know who Rusty is and I’ve been sitting hear listening to this debate for, oh, 8-10 minutes. Well said, New Girl and Rusty.

If you read what Obama wants to do and how he ‘s going to do it, it’s all about the government spending uber amounts of money doing it for the people (socialism) rather than creating an environment in which people have to do for themselves if they are able (which would exclude children, elderly and disabled).

I’m no economist, but reading Obama’s website, he has some lofty ideals that everyone cheers, yet his plans to get it done don’t seem feasible.

He has affiliated himself with racists who blame whites, especially the rich ones, for whatever ails the planet. He denounced their words for political reasons, but he’s one of them. If he’s not, then his judgment is so poor and he is so incapable of reading his closest associates that I could never trust this man not to put us at great risk by meeting and cutting deals with Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Hezbollah or the Palestinians.

Don’t just listen to what he wants to accomplish. Obama makes it sound real good and tells you he’ll do it by eliminating the things he knows you don’t like. Look at how he intends to do it and ask yourself if it’s realistic.

    39. LilPuma on June 3rd, 2008 10:49 am

This is interesting. It shows longer clips of Rev. Wright, Pfleger and Meeks than i saw on TV. It’s from one of the links Red provided in the original article. The caption on the video says that Obama told a Chicago newspaper reporter in 2004 that he had three spiritual mentors and advisors: Wright Pfleger and Meeks. http://tinyurl.com/63nk5b

      Wright: US of KKKA
Pfleger: You’re responsible for slavery because you have reaped the benefits of what your ancestors did, so unless you want to give up your 401(k)s and trust funds, you have to answer for the actions of your ancestors.

Bottom line of all of this is that blacks and people of color are victims of whites and whites owe them and have to pay.

I have to call my mother and find out about my trust fund. She’s never mentioned it before. I just know I’ve got one cause Pfleger says so. In fact, I remember not having much money and my mom working two jobs to keep me in a private school. BBL

Addendum to my post #39: the government is responsible for AIDS and drugs and the damage done in the black community. There’s only a war on drugs because the problem went beyond the scope that was intended.

The current minister of Trinity goes into a long sermon about the “enemy”. He doesn’t say whites, but, just a wild guess, that’s what he means.

Miss Underestimated…I read Obama’s father met his mother in the 60′s, got her pregnant, married her, then left when Obama was 2 yrs. old. They had been living in Hawaii and the father left for the upper 48 to finish his education and returned to Africa. Weirdest thing I read was that supposedly Obama’s father HAD ANOTHER WIFE in Africa while married to Obama’s white(y) momma.

I find this incredible in that Obama’s “black heritage” consists of 1/2 of his genetic makeup and nothing more. Read he only saw his father ONCE that he remembered at about 9 yrs of age. Other than that…raised by whities ;>)

Few years later after daddy left, momma married an Indonesian in the oil business. About all I know, hope it helps. Google “Obama’s parents” and you’ll get some interesting links to browse.

Sadly, I also read on Free Republic the Whitey thing is a hoax, but the fact no one in Obama’s camp is saying much is odd. Figured they’d come out swinging on that one.

#37—Caesu—-Thanks for your response. Thank you also for respecting my opinion.

I read your post, and funny thing is, you did not answer those 3 questions at all. You can’t answer that’s why….

You said ” but i don’t think obama is very worried about this rumor mill.

you said “some small groups will keep bringing it up again and again, because that’s all they have.”

(What do you and YoYo have for answers to those questions? Uhmmh, Yeah- that would be a whole lot of NOTHING. STICK TO THE QUESTIONS ABOVE, PLEASE! I knew you would fail to address those!)

——-> Don’t worry though, Caesu- Mr. Obama cannot even answer those questions for himself. (and it’s going to cost him).

AP REPORTS OBAMA CLINCHES THE NOMINATION; CLINTON DENIES SHE WILL CONCEDE TONIGHT

Barack Obama has effectively clinched the Democratic nomination, The Associated Press reported Tuesday afternoon, even as Hillary Clinton’s campaign rigorously battled reports that she would concede the race Tuesday night.

The Associated Press reported that based on public and private commitments from superdelegates, as well as the minimum amount of delegates Obama will earn in the final South Dakota and Montana primaries, Obama will have secured the Democratic race Tuesday. That was after the AP reported Clinton will concede later in the day that Obama has enough delegates to stake claim to the party’s presidential nomination.

The Clinton campaign issued an immediate denial to the latter story, though it left the door open for what would happen come Wednesday morning.

“The AP story is incorrect. Senator Clinton will not concede the nomination this evening,” the campaign said in a statement.

Clinton aides told FOX News that the only concession she will make Tuesday night is that Obama “has a slight lead in the delegate count.”

They said Clinton plans to claim she has won the popular vote, and is working up a victory-type speech for her address in New York City.

“She is definitely not conceding tonight,” a senior aide working on the speech with Clinton told FOX News.

“She is in this race until we have a nominee. We do not expect there to be one tonight,” Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee said.

Elleithee said Clinton is spending “the coming days” trying to convince uncommitted superdelegates that she is still the stronger candidate to battle presumptive GOP nominee John McCain. And he said she is still “weighing her options” on whether she will appeal the Democratic National Committee decision to award disputed Michigan delegates in a way he said was “fundamentally flawed.”

Obama, meanwhile, was steadily picking up superdelegates Tuesday and inching ever closer to securing a majority of Democratic delegates, although it remained unclear whether he would go over the top Tuesday night.

The outcome of the Democratic contest could come by the end of the day with some choreography by the party’s superdelegates.

But if Obama can’t claim victory Tuesday night, he’ll be awfully close.

Six more superdelegates endorsed Obama Tuesday, leaving him just 37.5 delegates short of the 2,118 needed to secure the nomination.

Montana and South Dakota together offer 31 pledged delegates, so Obama would undoubtedly need more superdelegates to make his victory official even if he fares well in those states.

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a Clinton backer, told FOX News she’s heard that about 12 uncommitted senators — who are superdelegates — will announce their support for Obama Wednesday. That report has been circulating on Capitol Hill.

The AP, citing two unnamed sources, said Clinton will likely stop short of formally suspending or ending her quest for the White House Tuesday night. The AP said she will pledge to continue to speak out on issues like health care, although the sources told the AP they acknowledge the campaign is basically over. The campaign is expected to release most of its staff on June 15, according to the report.

In another signal that Clinton might be coming to terms with her situation, Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe said Tuesday that once Obama gets the majority of convention delegates, “I think Hillary Clinton will congratulate him and call him the nominee.”

But he denied the AP report in a televised interview. Clinton aide Howard Wolfson also denied it, according to Politico.com.

Clinton, once seen as a sure bet in her quest to become the first woman president, was still pressing superdelegates to support her fading candidacy. But McAuliffe indicated she was not inclined to drag out a dispute over delegates from the unsanctioned Michigan primary, despite feeling shortchanged by a weekend compromise by the party’s rules committee that she could still appeal to a higher level.

“I don’t think she’s going to go to the credentials committee,” McAuliffe said on NBC’s “Today” show. Taking the matter to that committee would essentially extend the dispute into the convention and deny Democrats the unity they want to battle McCain.

Seeing the cards fall into place for his November rival, McCain planned a prime time speech Tuesday night in the New Orleans suburb of Kenner, La., in what will essentially be a kickoff to his fall campaign.

Obama told The Associated Press on Monday that “we’ve got a lot of work to do in terms of bringing the party together” with the convention approaching.

“Once the last votes are cast, then it’s in everybody’s interest to resolve this quickly so we can pivot,” he said.

Obama said there were a lot of superdelegates who have been private supporters of his but wanted to respect the process by not endorsing until the primaries were over.

“We’re still working the phones and we’re still talking to people … so we’ll certainly have to wait until a little later tonight to see what the final tally is, but we certainly feel good waking up this morning,” Robert Gibbs, Obama’s spokesman, told CNN on Tuesday.

In a defiant shot across the GOP bow, Obama, who returned to hometown Chicago late Monday, planned to hold his wrap-up rally in St. Paul, Minn., at the arena that will be the site of the Republican National Convention in September.

Clinton returned to New York, the state she represents in the Senate, planning an end-of-primary evening rally in Manhattan.

“I’m just very grateful we kept this campaign going until South Dakota would have the last word,” she said Monday at a restaurant in Rapid City in one of her final campaign stops.

She still sounded buoyant, but her biggest booster and most tireless campaigner, husband Bill Clinton, didn’t. “This may be the last day I’m ever involved in a campaign of this kind,” the former president said somberly as he stumped for his wife in South Dakota.

Ahead of Tuesday’s concluding primaries, Obama sought to set the stage for reconciliation, praising Clinton’s endurance and determination and offering to meet with her — on her terms — “once the dust settles” from their race.

“The sooner we can bring the party together, the sooner we can start focusing on McCain in November,” Obama told reporters in Michigan. He said he spoke with Clinton on Sunday when he called to congratulate her on winning the Puerto Rico primary, most likely her last hurrah.

That fueled speculation for a “dream ticket” in which Clinton would become Obama’s running mate — but neither camp was suggesting that was much of a possibility.

In the AP interview, Obama was asked when he would start looking for a running mate.

“The day after I have gotten that last delegate needed to officially claim the nomination, I’ll start thinking about vice presidential nominees,” he said. “It’s a very important decision, and it’s one where I’m going to have to take some time.”

FOX News’ Aaron Bruns and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Shows over folks :-) McCain clinches the Presidency!

Ya know, if we were discussing one little sermon or a paragraph in that little sermon, You’d be right. But I don’t know a person who stays in a church that preaches very basic tenants that the person doesn’t agree with.

For example, a big heartbreak for my family: We left a church after being fully involved for 4 years. I was President of the Woman’s group, worked heavily with the youth group and we supported the church. But then we got a new pastor and I began to see some inconsistencies in his family life with what I believed was appropriate. We left with broken hearts, but we left. We didn’t just sit in the pews and pretend it wasn’t happening.

Everything about Oh-bomb-a and Michelle indicate that what was coming out of their preachers’ mouths was indeed something they subscribe to. And whether there really is a “whitey” tape out there or not, this I do know: Oh-bomb-a and Michelle are both racists and show hatred toward my Country.

While expenditures and programs require congressional approval–and we have a voice there–my fear is his choice of close associates. Who will he appoint as cabinet members and advisers? What promises or deals is he going to cut with leaders of Syria and Iran and Venezuela? Will he put us and/or Israel at risk and then say “I wasn’t there when he said it. He’s not the man I thought he was.”?

    48. LilPuma on June 3rd, 2008 4:31 pm

      46. Brenda. Obama hasn’t made her the offer yet. Even with both of them on the ticket, I don’t know if Hillary supporters will vote for Obama. I suppose it depends on what McCain has to say once the Democratic nomination is made official. Obama’s website has him spending like it’s going out of style and I’m not convinced his answer to how he’s going to make it all work makes sense.

    49. Brenda on June 3rd, 2008 4:56 pm

      LilPuma,

I’m very concerned who Obama puts around him to advise. Hadn’t really thought too far ahead on that, but it’s a concern.

Hard core Hillary supporters want her in the White House regardless….but you give me hope in that he has not asked her yet. The picture accompanying the article I read showed the 2 of them shaking hands prior to a debate. Her smile was so forced, and his face so set as stone…I cannot imagine the 2 ever getting along. If he does choose her, I can only believe it is best for him as a ploy to clinch the White House, not a choice best for the country.

Additionally, Obama’s wife is every bit as strong as Hillary. What I’d give to be a fly on the wall if the two of them had a head to head. Whew~!

If you don’t leave a church when there is a constant barrage of offensive things coming from the pulpit that you don’t agree with then you better ask yourself why you go to church.

Church is a time of worship and strengthening you beliefs. How could one possibly do either if offensive things are coming from the very pulpit of the church?

It’s really offensive to hear some say this church thing is behind Oh-Bomb-A. How on earth could anyone in their right mind really believe that because something causes you a problem in your quest for the presidency and so you divorce it – it’s not there anymore? It’s there, some of you just don’t want anyone to focus on it because you are so in the tank for Oh-Bomb-A that you will ignore anything you don’t want others to hear.

Wake up! Smell the Coffee! If you have a job get ready to turn over your paycheck to Oh-Bomb-A and let him dish it out as he will. Get ready to be the laughing stock of the world ad your candidate shows just how ill-prepared and uninformed he is not only on the number of states in this great union, but how the real world works!

    51. caesu on June 3rd, 2008 5:34 pm

why are some of you so afraid for socialism?
communism and socialism are entirely different systems.

the majority of all countries in the world has adopted some aspects of socialism.
to appeal to the christian right: compassion and taking care of the poor – isn’t that a good thing?
and pro-life: why can’t everybody fit in a health care plan. or is it only pro-life until the baby is born and then the baby has to fend for her/himself?

an entirely capitalist economy isn’t the best idea i think.
look how the greedy corporations have taken over the country. making huge profits in the oil business and pharmaceutical business for example.
and even the war is outsourced now – 140.000 private contractors in iraq – no accountabilty, they are above the law.

so i think i mixed economy capitalism/socialism could be the answer.
of course every system has its downsides.
but maybe to take the best part of each system is a solution.

Sadly, Rev. Wright’s (Wrong’s) supporters ARE worshipping exactly what they believe in…their agenda of hate and self-promotion. In turn they ARE strengthening their beliefs in support of one anothers’ views. No different than any other church preaching hate.

My dad was a pastor, so I do get what you speak of. He got out of the ministry after nearly 20 years because (a) people didn’t want to be taught they need to improve and preferred “junk food sermons” (b) the organized church worked like a political machine (c) it was clear money was a big motivator for some denominations rather than “feeding the flock”.

He felt he was better off living a good life before others and helping out his fellow man by ministrying to them in every day life WITHOUT revealing he used to be a pastor. When people found out, they acted differently around him and treated him different (hid who they really were..you know, didn’t curse, didn’t smoke or drink around him although they had done so BEFORE finding out his former position!)

At his funeral, so many people told me they had no idea he was a pastor, but that it “made sense” in how he lived his life. That meant more to hear than anything he could have accomplished otherwise.

ceasu..scared of socialism? No. I’m not scared, but do not want it since it is nothing more than those who work paying for the lazy scum who will not in 80% of all cases.

Those who won’t care for themselves, too bad! It’s called survival of the fittest.

No, i have no pity for those who CHOOSE to live unhealthy lives or CHOOSE to screw around outside of marriage and have kids. I certainly have no intention of supporting that. Don’t care in the least….sorry.

I just love the MSM “First African American”. Labels are rascist, hello! They can’t even stick to the principle of this primary which is to select the best person for the job. All anybody on Obama’s side cares about is that there is an “African American” running for President. What a sad comentary on our state of being. I am embarassed.

Before you blast me let me start out by saying that I am a card carrying Democrat. My civil right was taken away by the Democrat party as I live in Florida. I tend to vote for anybody I see fit. I presently do not like any of our choices for president. I would vote for a qualified person no matter what their gender or ancestory. On a personal level I would have voted for Colin Powell over GW. I like the job GWB has done, I think he has had to do a tougher job than many previous Presidents and has had to make some very tough and bold decisions that many will not comprehend until revealed in history.

The Dems have picked a puppet that is basing his beliefs and agenda on antiquated ideals. He is still living in the late 60′s sitting around with radical thinkers that base there hatred of America on the past. Yes there was extreme wrongs against human beings. Yes, there is still racism in America, both ways, and it is not going away anytime soon. As long as people label each other it will carry on forever. Don’t forget that it was White Americans that freed the slaves, A White government that enacted civil liberties, and White tax payers that helped feed and clothe the poor. Affirmative Action has opened many doors for the willing.

We as a country have made great strides since the civil rights movement. Everybody has a chance in this country now, look around you. Why would you want to completley change a working system? Socilaism does not work! I’ll be the first to admit I hate seeing people in professional positions with bigger houses and better cars than me. I would rather deal with my personal jealousies than not have a capitolist society that challenges us to strive for more. Rich people create jobs and enterprise. Socialism creates sloth and contempt. The Dems have just taken a huge step backwards, good luck with that.

      yoyo,

I saw the McCain speech last night. You are most likley correct that it was the first time he saw the speech. Really not that bad considering that fact. It seems like sometimes he had to remember to smile at certain points and other times I noticed he seemed to be laughing at people off camera making comments also. Really who cares? You want to talk about speech styles? How about Obamas rythmic drone that seems to mimic the style of a radical Black Theoligist preacher that we all know.

Substance is what matters to me. I feel that McCain has a clear objective that will benifeit us all.

McCain also knows how many States are in the Union and what city he was in.

Ohbama is nothing but hot air in an expensive suit supported by a bunch of dangerous wealthy elitists bent on a new world order, who’ll be spending your hard earned money (not theirs) to bring about the socialist princples they discuss while smoking something at their expensive retreats where they dream up candidates they can manipulate to their ends.
Look at the one they’ve chosen…in the face of criticism he gives up his church he’s been attending for 20 YEARS. What will he do if the
WHITEY tape comes out…divorce his wife?? He will roll over and do exactly what his handlers want. Watch out America if this man gets elected the country will be set back years. The only thing that might happen is that the greeneyed monster in other countries will get back in its cage and they will love us again! Who needs it.
      Not me.

Leaving aside “taking care of the poor”, do you consider it appropriate for the government to use tax dollars to pay specifically for roads, policemen, and firemen?

Do these three specific items fall within the category of “providing services”? Is any service provided by the government a bad thing?

Is it “socialist” for the government to provide these three specific things?

#64 – you obviously believe in Illuminati. Haha.

      Katablog,

You know you shouldn’t be visiting those rightwing propoganda sites! Shame on you!
      (lo-F’n-l)

Funny, I was channel surfing last night and stumbled upon an old “Quantum Leap” episode. Scott Bakulas charactor is in the body of an “African American” in the 1960s. He was at the bank talking to a young “African American” bank loan officer about a loan for a blues club. When the officer turns him down, he says to him; “You know, as someone who has made it, (speaking in regards to white corporate/society) you have an obligation to help those who havn’t.” I thought to myself, no, he does not. Why should the bank take an obvious risk with no collateral whatsoever? That type of behavior would ruin the banking institution. When the recent housing market/foreclosure debacle struck and I noticed that the large percentage of people hurt where “African Americans”, I thought to myself “those greedy SOB mortgage companies took advantage of them”. It really did not make sense as to why the banks would do that to themselves, but I could think of no other reason than greed. Not until I read the article in the link that katablog provided did it make sense. It was Barack Obama walking on the backs of the very people he claims to be helping to get to power. Read the article, very informative and heartbreaking. Shame, shame, shame on you Obama.

    67. yoyo muffintop on June 4th, 2008 12:56 pm

Rusty – so now Obama created the subprime mortgage situation? omg. too funny. Here comes the boogeyman, the anti-christ.
You need to go study up on what caused the crisis.

ceasu..scared of socialism: I can’t say I’m “scared” of it. I can say that there’s no way on God’s green earth that I’m going to work hard so that the government can take my money and spread it around to those that don’t want to bother.

I am scared of Barack Oh-Bomb-a because here’s a dude that doesn’t even know how uninformed he is. He thinks there’s 58 or more states in the union and he thinks he can sit down and talk to the likes of the President of Iran. How absolutely foolish – and dangerous. This is the same guy that didn’t hear what his own pastor, friend and mentor said for 20 years. How can we expect him to size up the President of Iran?

Here’s a guy who as of 1999 was a friend of the Palestinians occupying the West Bank who now says he supports Israel. Yeah right.

    69. yoyo muffintop on June 4th, 2008 6:23 pm

“he thinks he can sit down and talk to the likes of the President of Iran. How absolutely foolish – and dangerous.”

      *71% of dems think yes
      *58% indys think yes
      *48% repubs think yes
*Current Republican President Bush says yes:”We can have meetings. Talking is not the problem. We can talk to Iran.”
*Defense Secretary Gates says yes: “We need to figure out a way to develop some leverage…and then sit down and talk with them”
      and the list goes on..

Oh, and John McCain, the old John McCain before he flip floped, wanted to talk to Hamas: “They’re the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so . . . but it’s a new reality in the Middle East. I think the lesson is people want security and a decent life and decent future, that they want democracy. Fatah was not giving them that.”

      And Syria:
LAUER: Let me ask you about Syria.
      Mr. McCAIN: Sure.
LAUER: They have denied possessing weapons of mass destruction, they’ve also denied harboring any senior members of the Iraqi leader. The US administration says they have evidence to the contrary. How would you proceed with that situation?
Mr. McCAIN: I think it’s very appropriate that Colin Powell is going to Syria. I think we should put diplomatic and other pressures on them. It’s also a time for Mr. Asad Bashar to realize that he should be more like his father was. I think he’s too heavily influenced by a lot of the radical Islamic elements and–and militant groups.

Of course when you don’t know the difference between Sunni/Shiite’s and the number of troops in Iraq, yet claim yourself an “expert”, you probably are best not to talk.

But “katablog” says talking’s foolish and dangerous.
ok…..so blinded by partisan politics…so sad.

    70. yoyo muffintop on June 4th, 2008 8:18 pm

“McCain, despite tough rhetoric on Iran, has several advisers with deep connections to the country; perhaps the most embarrassing of which is Charlie Black, the campaign’s chief strategist. Before leaving his perch as a D.C. lobbyist, Black represented a Chinese oil company that did business with the Iranian government. He and his firm also represented Ahmad Chalabi, the Iraqi exile who helped churn up support for the war in the United States and has subsequently been accused of selling U.S. secrets to Iran.”

If this is who McCain surrounds himself with…
See how easy this game is?

    71. Rusty Bridges on June 5th, 2008 7:10 am

      yoyo,

      I have studied. Have you?

“In a 1995 case known as Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank, Obama and his fellow Davis Miner attorneys charged that Citibank was making too few loans to black applicants, and they won the case.”

Why should a bank give loans to someone they don’t expect a return on? Because they where forced to, that is why. Do you really think in this day and age that a corporation would issue an order not to give loans based on a persons ancestory? A bank is a corporation just like any other and wants to make a profit, obvious to most. So they will loan anybody regardless of ancestory as long as it is in the banks best interest. Banking 101. Someone like Obama, with his extensive education would realize that, but for some reason he forced banks to go against the very principle of banking. Why did he do that? Is he just that ignorant? Or did he have other intentions? Was he fooled? You tell me, because I don’t think he is ignorant at all. Either way I do not like him as president.

Why don’t you do your home work and realize that there is a big world out there. Or keep your head buried, or what ever you do to get by.

    72. Rusty Bridges on June 5th, 2008 7:15 am

      yoyo,

And by the way, Obama debate McCain? Please, not if Obama can help it! The man was held POW and had been tortured, teeth broken out, bones broken. You think he would whither because of Obama? Please!

    73. yoyo muffintop on June 5th, 2008 12:54 pm

Ohhh Rusty – Ever hear of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)? Obviously not. It was enacted by Congress in 1977 (was Obama in Congress then?) and retooled in 1995 (was Obama in Congress then?). Blame the democrats but not Obama.
Btw – Do you know how the law works? A judge ruled against Citibank. So if you have a problem with Obama’s firm winning, you might want to take it up with the judge. Holy Cow – I thought people knew that.
Here’s your homework assignment – 1. Research how the judiciary works. 2. Read up on CRA. 3. Stay off the propaganda sites – they are making you seem foolish.

Hey, I realize it must be scary for you to have a black dude possibly run the country. But don’t worry – they don’t bite.

Huge bombshells today by the Senate Intelligence Committee:
      – Statements and implications by the President and Secretary of State suggesting that Iraq and al-Qa’ida had a partnership, or that Iraq had provided al-Qa’ida with weapons training, were not substantiated by the intelligence.
      – Statements by the President and the Vice President indicating that Saddam Hussein was prepared to give weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups for attacks against the United States were contradicted by available intelligence information.
      – Statements by President Bush and Vice President Cheney regarding the postwar situation in Iraq, in terms of the political, security, and economic, did not reflect the concerns and uncertainties expressed in the intelligence products.
      – Statements by the President and Vice President prior to the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate regarding Iraq’s chemical weapons production capability and activities did not reflect the intelligence community’s uncertainties as to whether such production was ongoing.
      – The Secretary of Defense’s statement that the Iraqi government operated underground WMD facilities that were not vulnerable to conventional airstrikes because they were underground and deeply buried was not substantiated by available intelligence information.
      – The Intelligence Community did not confirm that Muhammad Atta met an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague in 2001 as the Vice President repeatedly claimed.

I wonder if the wuss democrats that lead congress are going to do anything about it? Nancy?

“I hate the gooks,” McCain said yesterday in response to a question from reporters aboard his campaign bus. “I will hate them as long as I live.”

McCain, a former Navy pilot who spent five years in a Vietnamese prisoner of war camp, was questioned about the language because of a story last month in the Nation magazine reporting his continued use of the slur.

Since then, reports of McCain’s language have been circulating on Internet chat sites and e-mails among Asian Americans, many of whom find the the term offensive and inappropriate for an elected official.

“The use of a racist slur can’t be acceptable for any national leader, regardless of his background,” said Diane Chin, executive director of the San Francisco-based Chinese for Affirmative Action. “For someone running for president not to recognize the power of words is a problem.”

While McCain’s words may have little effect in conservative South Carolina, where few Asian Americans live, they could come back to haunt him in other states.

“Historically, straight talkers who say things off the top of their heads eventually hang themselves with those sorts of remarks,” said Bruce Cain, a political scientist at the University of California at Berkeley.

“While it might not hurt him now, Democrats are not going to have any hesitation about using this stuff to string him up later.”

      McCain made no apologies yesterday.

“I was referring to my prison guards,” McCain said, “and I will continue to refer to them in language that might offend some people because of the beating and torture of my friends.”

McCain made it clear that his anger extends only toward his captors. As a senator, he was one of the leaders of the postwar effort to normalize U.S. relations with Vietnam.

Campaign officials do not expect the controversy to hurt McCain, either in tomorrow’s South Carolina primary or later in the campaign.

“If people understood the context, they wouldn’t be upset,” Mike Murphy, a senior adviser to the campaign, said last night.

But the racial slur used by the senator has a long, painful history that is felt by many Asian Americans.

The word “gook” was first used in 1899 by American soldiers fighting Filipino insurgents. During the Korean War, the term was aimed at Koreans and Chinese. It was directed at the Vietnamese when Americans were fighting in Vietnam. It is now used as a slur toward any Asian or Pacific Islander.

      #68…I ditto this one too.

Sadly, so many NON-Americans no longer wish for the right to PURSUE life, liberty, and happiness unless it is done through the hard work of someone else. Those who wish for the socialist lifestyle are not true Americans…born here and citizens maybe, but do not hold the ideals of our beloved America at heart. They can argue with me all they want, but they’ll loose.

Many have lost their moral compass. Didn’t our founding fathers warn of this? I know they did!

    78. SolPred on June 15th, 2008 4:15 pm

How is it that the American people can so easily forget that Obama refused to swear in on the Senate floor with the Holy Bible, and instead insisted on swearing in using the Koran!?
