Former Rep. Jesse Jackson (D-IL) Jr. Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison … Using His Campaign as his “Personal Piggy Bank”
Former US Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) was sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges that he illegally spent $750,000 in campaign funds on personal purchases. Jackson had previously resigned from Congress amid this campaign-finance scandal and had been absent from the Congress for months while undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder at the Mayo Clinic. Add another to a long line of corrupt Illinois politicians doing things the Chicago-way.
Federal Judge Amy B. Jackson reprimanded Jackson for using his campaign as his “personal piggy bank” as she handed down the sentence, which will be served in North Carolina. Jackson could have received as many as four years in prison.
The former Democratic congressman from Illinois choked up before the judge as he expressed remorse for his crimes, saying that he was “wrong” and had “misled” the taxpayers he represented.
“I take responsibility for my actions and am very sorry for what I’ve done,” Jackson said.
No, he was sorry he got caught.

Like father like son
“But your honor, I didn’t think that was wrong. After all, people gave me the money.”
It’s just so ‘out of character’ for the Jackson family
to get tempted by all the money floating around
within easy reach like that. Say, did the judge actually
say he had to return all that stolen money? What?
Well, it isn’t like $750K is a $Million now is it?
Only 30 mos!!!! A crook, a thug, a liar, a cheater, just like his father. Friend of barack(barry).
Glad to have him off the scene.
Hasn’t been all that long ago, the dems. We’re talking about what a good President he would make.
They bragged and bragged about him, how intelligent, how brilliant.
Sounds familiar doesn’t it?
