File this one under one of the most inappropriate comments ever … What Commander in Chief says this about the death of four Americans at the hands of terrorism?
President Barack Obama went on Comedy Central and said to Jon Stewart the following with regards to the Benghazi, Libya attack, “When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal”. WHAT, NOT OPTIMAL? Could a less appropriate word have been used? It is not optimal for your reelection campaign, it is a tragedy for the rest of America. These are the comments from a president who America thinks cares about them? Think again folks.
“Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page,” Stewart said.
“Here’s what I’ll say. When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal. We’re going to fix it. All of it,” Obama replied.
“The government is a big operation and any given time something screws up. And you make sure that you find out what’s broken and you fix it.
Actually Mr. President, you are a screw up. Let me be the one to inform you, when four Americans die at the hands of radical Islamist terrorists, it is a national tragedy. When four Americans die due to your administration not supplying them the proper security, even after they continually asked for it is a disgrace. And when a White House tries to cover up their colossal screw up and the deaths of four Americans due to your actions or inaction … it is not optimal, IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO GO!!!

I’m sure the proprietors of this blog were just as angry and disgusted when the previous administration failed to put in place proper security measures and contingency plans when regime change in Iraq didn’t result in flowers and candy.
at least he admits it was a screw up even though it was a major F’up.

It is not optimal … it should be deemed a crime!!
The buck stops with the President. The deaths which occurred in the attack in Benghazi that resulted in the brutal assinations of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans could have been avoided. At the very least Obama should be impeached and Clinton should resign.

What absolute arrogance. For a sitting President who for 4 years has always been so concerned with putting out über “pc” statements and sound bites to the public…..I’m still pretty dismayed the Obamassiah would make a careless declaration like this.
As flutter posted, the parents of the victims aren’t having it.
Talk about disconnect. With all the campaign rhetoric with this remark, and that remark, you think he would have refrained from stepping in crap.
But to make that remark about Americans who died in the circumstances in Libya, with all the dissembling around the matter, he talked about these gentleman in the most impersonal, unsympathetic manner possible.
It is all W’s fault for the inarticulate phraseology.

My son got one of the emails from Smith. That poor guy knew he wasn’t going to live through the night. Can you imagine the emotional terror he lived through even before he was physically attacked. I don’t think the WH wants to release the information on his cause of death because of the backlash that it will cause.

New details emerge of deadly attack on US Consulate in Libya

The attack, Fox News is told by multiple witnesses, was strong, multi-pronged and organized. Those involved, said the attack involved various gauge weapons, including machine guns and RPGs. …
What was apparent: Defenses at the mission clearly proved ineffective at fending off those who decided to take on the mission.
The compound was surrounded by walls 10 to 12 feet tall, topped by concertina razor and barbed wire. They were not breached. The lower metal front gate was undamaged. They didn’t have to be.
It appears that the mob either scaled the gate and opened it from behind or simply pried open a side smaller door to gain access.

Rep. Rogers calls latest Libya intel disclosures ‘orchestrated defense’ of administration

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers said over the weekend that recent disclosures by intelligence officials that once again revise the narrative on what happened during the deadly attack last month in Libya suggest an “orchestrated defense of the administration.”
The Michigan Republican congressman did not specify what disclosures he was talking about, but was likely referring to recent news articles downplaying the role of Al Qaeda in the Sept. 11 strike, as well as comments by intelligence officials claiming once again that protests elsewhere over an anti-Islam film may have played a role in inspiring the attack.

@Tamiko’s Mom- My sincere wish for the last debate this evening is that Mitt Romney does not back down on this crucial debate about Foreign Policy and the handling of the most recent Embassy breach which led to death of Americans.
He has to continue to hammer home what an egregious and careless screw-up, then subsequent cover-up from the State Dept. directly UP to the President afterwards. This of course was done because the event is so close to election time.
He needs to shoot down Barack attempting to say that Mitt “jumped the wagon” and is only using this instance as fodder or to make it into a political issue to use for his bid to seek the Presidency.
Uhmmmmmmmmm, HELLO?! Mr. President—anyone home?! It IS- OF COURSE, 100% political and why should you not be called out on your failure to protect Americans?!?! Big, HUGE FAIL in this arena for starters and there is positively not a reason on God’s Green Earth why Obama shouldn’t be nailed for it. (Cue clips of Biden yelling at Ryan ” But we didn’t know! We didn’t know about the requests for more Security” !!!)
Funny how there is documentation suggesting the exact opposite. Not only did the State Department know—they repeatedly ignored requests.
Ignorance in Leadership and Accountability of same has no place in Office.
