Resellers Still Selling Tainted Pet Food From Menu Foods

If it is not bad enough that our pets were killed by the tainted food that came from Menu Foods and sold through many different suppliers, the FDA is now saying that it is still being sold by retailers that have not removed the recalled food from their shelves.

There should be some recourse to fine or punish retailers that do not respond to recall notices.

The Food and Drug Administration said it had inspected about 400 stores nationwide and still found some dog and cat food products affected by last month’s recall by Canada-based pet food maker Menu Foods Income Fund and other manufacturers.
“FDA believes most companies have removed the recalled product; however, some have not,” the agency said in a statement.  Reuters.com

That is pure greed, 100% profit for the unscrupulous retailer who receives billing credit for product that was supposed to be removed from stock and disposed of but was instead sold as usual. They sell it and don’t have to pay for it. The sonofabitches who are doing that should be publicized and severely punished, including one count of criminal animal abuse for each can of the recalled product they sold and have their retailer license revoked.

I was at a K-mart recently and was going to buy some dog chews. I got kinda nervous because I didn’t know exactly which ones were recalled, and the brand seemed like it may have been one I saw. The manager was there, so I asked about it and he said “I am pretty sure they are fine, we usually get a fax showing what to pull, and I am sure that would have been done”. I didn’t buy them. I am appalled at all the recalls on food. Everyone really should subscribe to the FDA recall notices. http://www.fda.gov/opacom/Enforce.html
