Barack Obama, Not Just a U.S Disappointment … But Also a Global Disappointment as Well
So much for Barack Obama, International Rock Star …
The International community is finally coming to understand what those in the United States have known for 3 years … Barack Obama is a disappointment. However, the International community takes a back seat to just how disappointed America is the Obama Presidency. Many in Europe are disappointed in Obama because he did not pass further Leftist, socialist policies. We in America can only thank God, he was prevented from doing so.
In Europe, where more than 200,000 people thronged a Berlin rally in 2008 to hear Barack Obama speak, there’s disappointment that he hasn’t kept his promise to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, and perceptions that he’s shunting blame for the financial crisis across the Atlantic.
In Mogadishu, a former teacher wishes he had sent more economic assistance and fewer armed drones to fix Somalia’s problems. And many in the Middle East wonder what became of Obama’s vow, in a landmark 2009 speech at the University of Cairo, to forge a closer relationship with the Muslim world.
In a world weary of war and economic crises, and concerned about global climate change, the consensus is that Obama has not lived up to the lofty expectations that surrounded his 2008 election and Nobel Peace Prize a year later. Many in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America were also taken aback by his support for gay marriage, a taboo subject among religious conservatives.
[...]
Obama’s rock-star-like reception at Berlin’s Victory Column in the summer of 2008 was a high point of a wildly successful European campaign tour. The thawing of a harsh anti-Americanism that had thrived in Europe was as much a reaction to the Bush years as it was an embrace of the presidential hopeful.
Those high European expectations have turned into disappointment, largely because of the continued U.S. military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan and Obama’s failure to close Guantanamo Bay in the face of vehement congressional opposition.
What about that Nobel Peace Prize that was ridiculously and prematurely given to The Obamamessiah? What must Europe be thinking of that prize being given to Obama as he has continued to prolong the US presence in Iraq and Afghanistan and Obama’s failure to close Guantanamo Bay. All things that he claimed he would end.

There were no high exceptations.
The Bush admin set the bar pretty low (globaly diplomacy speaking)
and about shifting the blame to Europe for the financial crisis…well….Europe has been blaming the US (both are at fault).
and the financial industry is laughing it asses off.
thank you politicians for doing nothing.
“the consensus is that Obama has not lived up to the lofty expectations that surrounded his 2008 election and Nobel Peace Prize a year later.”
That is the understatement of the year. I still have Relatives in Europe, and they say—at first, like Americans- Europeans heard great things about the wonderful new President…Hope and Change, Oh, Lawdy- The Messiah has come to deliver us all from evil. Some have repeated to my family—he was surrounded by the “magical aura” of JFK and Camelot. What happened, they ask, to all of the promises of the first Black President ever elected in the United States?
What happened is that he is an Empty Suit, and the great MISLEADER of the American People. At least that is what they think in Naples, Italy.
What we see here in Europe is that US politics have polarized even more then during the Bush admin.
It has happened here too, spineless politicians who put their own gain above the country.
Like Wilders did (how come you all like this guy?)
