James J. Lee has had a long time dispute with the Discovery Channel and today has taken hostages and allegedly has bombs strapped to his body. The building is being evacuated:

He was arrested for picketing the Discovery Channel back in 2008 and now on his website has a manifesto of sorts directed at the Discovery Channel.

Differing reports regarding if shots fired and if there are any injuries. There was a daycare center in the building that has been evacuated.

UPDATE: Hostage crisis over - suspect has been shot - 3 hostages are safe. No word on the condition of James Jay Lee.
UPDATE II: Suspect James Jay Lee has died from his injuries, killed by police.
A radical enviornmentalist who took three hostages at the Discovery Channel headquarters while wearing what police may be explosives was shot and killed by officers, police said.
The gunman, identified as James Lee, was killed by police following four hours of negotiations but the hostages are all safe, said Montgomery County Police Chief J. Thomas Manger.

You know what? I’m sure I’ll get ranked on for saying this- but I am glad to hear this arsehole has been shot!
Most interesting thing I have read today about his background—-one of the main factors which inspired and motivated him to plan his protest a few years back & continue in targeting “Discovery” Channel—was Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth”.
