San Diego Getting a Taste of their own Boycott Medicine … Arizonians Canceling Trips to SD

RUT-ROH, It’s the law of unintended consequences that should have been easily predicted.

Suddenly when the “boycott” tables are turned, California, namely San Diego tourism whines as many in Arizona are canceling their trips to San Diego. Go figure, what a shocker.

San Diego tourism leaders and hoteliers fear they could lose a sizable chunk of business this summer from valued “Zonies” who are so angered by elected leaders’ recent censure of Arizona for its illegal-immigration law that they’re mounting an informal boycott of their own.

The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and several hotels report receiving e-mails and letters from Arizona visitors saying they intend to change their plans to travel here in light of local outcry over their home state’s anti-illegal-immigration stance.

As Red State brilliantly posted in SD’s comment to AZ …

Just because we called you a bunch of racist bigots does not mean we don’t want you to come to San Diego and spend your money. In the midst of SD local politicians calling those from Arizona racists, they intend to send an open letter to AZ residents, begging them to overlook being called racists.

Tourism officials are striking back. In an open letter, they urge Arizona residents to overlook local politics and come to San Diego just as they always have for its mild climate, beaches and attractions. The visitors bureau, in conjunction with the San Diego County Hotel-Motel Association, plans to circulate the letter to media outlets and in advertising this weekend in The Arizona Republic.

Are you serious that the SD Convention & Visitors Bureau and the San Diego County Hotel-Motel Association are going to send residents of Arizona a letter that says, even though we think your racist bigots, we still need your green backs.

How exactly would that letter read … Dear AZ misguided residents, we know your are for racial profiling and are a bunch of racists and not really interested in the rule of law, either state or federal. BTW, we have not read the AZ immigration law either, but we still think you are racists. However, please come to SD as we allow bigots to vacation here as well.

Those that have declared Arizona’s immigration bill and called for boycotts are in for a rude awakening. The mood of the country is for securing the borders, it is for making individuals verify they are here legally and it is for the rule of law.

      Karma is a bitch.

A Tea Party boycott of California would pretty much finish it off and assure all the Democrats got kicked out across the state, would it not?

Tens of millions of Americans saying “no” to anything from California just might get some attention.

As much as I love SD, and that is the only part of Cali that I love, GOOD. They need to stop the nonsense.

California has spent itself into oblivion as a welfare state.
Inability to control Illegal Alien invasion is straw that
broke it’s back. Now, poverty stricken San Diego is attempting
to influence Arizona’s courageous work in stemming the
flow of criminals across it’s borders? Ha!

The government idiots at all levels in California need to keep their mouths shut. California is broke and will have to be bailed out by the rest of us or just go bankrupt.
If the local and state governments in California cannot manage their own business, they should learn to leave the other states alone.

Strike a ball and when the ball. It hurts the one you hit. But what is much more hurting is when the ball bounces back to your face. Karma . . . Karma . . . Karma chameleon . . .
