Just Tried the New Diet Coke with Splenda

And it tastes different. I can not say whether I like it or not. We use Splenda in our coffee in the morning, and I do drink a few Diet Cokes a day.

I will give it another try later today.

Here is a comment on the new Diet Coke from Favorable Dicta.

t’s OK. There is a really weird sweet aftertaste. It doesn’t taste like the Diet Coke I’m used to, and since I’m an addict, that might be a problem, but it’s not terrible I guess. I think it tastes more like regular Coke, except the weird aftertaste. But, for me, the whole point of Diet Coke (besides the Diet part) is that it DOESN’T taste like regular Coke….so, not sure this is an improvement for me.

I tried a bottle a few days ago, and I liked it. Compared to the Nutra-Sweet version, I thought more of the actual cola taste came through.

Diet-Rite Cola has been using Splenda for years, but their cola recipe is different, and leaves me a fruity aftertaste that I don’t care for in a cola.

I can’t stand classic Coke anymore because the only thing I can taste in it is the corn syrup.

I am the same way… Regular Cola is way too sweet.

I have been drinking Diet Coke for so long the new splenda tastes different. I may end up liking it, but the texture of the drink is much much different.

They use splenda so it must taste slpendid.

You’re kidding, right? Tab had that awful saccharine aftertaste that sent all the soft drink companies running to Nutra-Sweet as soon as it was available.

I’ve drunk Splenda-sweetened beverages enough that I’m sure I would have detected that kind of aftertaste if it were there.

I have not had a TAB in 20 years. My Grandmother used to drink it and it was the only soda available at her house.

I definitely could be wrong, but that was an impression I got.

I think Diet Cold with Splenda is great, much better that regular Diet Coke. I can’t in back to aspertame.

It’s funny that you are discussing the Tab drink. My dad used to drink Tab when I was a kid and he’d offer me a sip once in a while as if it was the greatest thing ever. A couple of days ago I had a diet cherry coke because that was my only choice at the time and the taste of that soda took me back 40 years. Yuk! I’ve had Diet Rite with Splenda and to me it tastes better than the diet Coke. I can’t wait to try the Coke with Splenda.
