Finding the motive will be difficult. LE should check his close friends and any medical people who may have some knowledge of his health. He could have a cancer of the brain that affected his behavior.
We don’t have a time line at this point. His position in the hotel was approximately 450 feet above the ground. This is like a military sniper situated in a cave above a valley. He could shoot a wide arc and long distance.
In a situation like this one at Vegas where hotels overlook blocks of empty space at ground level LE will need to learn military tactics. The military would have fired on the two window locations from the ground with automatic rifles to stop the shooter from accessing his shooting position.
Senseless destruction of innocent people-may God help their families to heal.
