GOP Debate II: Donald Trump’s Best Liunes and Zingers of the CNN Republican Debate … “He (Obama) Just Doesn’t Have Courage, There is Something Missing From Our President.”
Republican GOP Debate on CNN …
It was the Donald Trump show once again as all of the other GOP candidates tried to knock The Donald off his perch. However, as usual Trump got off some zingers and lines that will be covered by the media in the post-debate analysis. Probably his best ones were pointed at Jeb Bush, especially when he said the following … “Your brother and your brother’s administration gave us Barack Obama.” Followed up with the disappointment with George W. Bush’s presidency made it impossible to elect a Republican to succeed him: “It was such a disaster those last three months that Abraham Lincoln couldn’t have been elected.”
Love him, hate him or if you are indifferent, Trump has a point.
The Politco: Trumped: His 14 most memorable debate lines.
Donald Trump did it again. After an explosive first debate in which Trump clashed with the moderators and stole the show, the bomb-throwing frontrunner came out swinging at the second Republican debate in Simi Valley, California, on Wednesday. He dissed Rand Paul (twice), put down George Pataki and hit Jeb Bush with a backhanded compliment. He also had plenty of praise — for himself and his business record.
Here are his 14 most quotable lines from the second Republican debate. (read here)

Whataburger in Lewisville, Texas in Tells Two Police Officers the Restaurant had a Policy of not Serving Cops
THE WAR ON POLICE CONTINUES …
A cashier at a Whataburger restaurant in Lewisville, Texas finds themselves in the frying pan as two police officers were allegedly told that the restaurant had a policy of not serving cops. REALLY? What the hell is going on in this country where we are continually seeing these acts of disrespect from restaurants where they are either refusing to serve police officers or in some cases let them use the restrooms? Two north Texas officers, Michael Magovern and Cameron Beckham, were working off-duty security at a construction site when they decided to grab something to eat and entered the Whataburger. The men were in uniform when they entered the restaurant and before he even got to the counter the man said, “We don’t serve police officers.” UNREAL. The manager tried to back peddle from his initial comment and apologize, but the damage had been done.
I guess we know how many people feel and the disrespect of people. I wonder what would happen if this same employee was denied service? Needless to say, the individual who made this pathetic comment as been fired. Free speech has consequences, doesn’t it?
A Whataburger location in Lewisville, Texas is under fire after a cashier allegedly told two police officers that the restaurant had a policy of not serving cops.
According to a local Fox affiliate, officers Michael Magovern and Cameron Beckham stopped by the location while working night shifts at a nearby construction site. But before they could order, the man working the counter told them, “We don’t serve police officers.”
Given that Whataburger is a Texas staple– and Texas is not exactly a hotspot of anti-police furor– the incident received widespread coverage in local media and flooded Whataburger’s Facebook with angry comments. “This is my favorite place to eat and to hear that one of your establishments refused service to an officer is appalling,” reads one complaint. “I hope y’all can make it right…”
UPDATE I: The Whataburger restaurant has fired the employee and the company released the following statement:
“We were appalled to hear of an employee refusing service to two officers, as we have proudly served first responders across our system for decades. As soon as we heard of this isolated incident, we began our own internal investigation overnight. The employee that refused service is no longer employed with Whataburger. We’ve also invited the officers back today so we can apologize in person and make this right.”

Daily Commentary – Thursday, September 17, 2015 – The 2nd GOP Debate Was Last Night on CNN
- As you know, these commentaries are pre-recorded so I don’t know at the time of recording how the debate went. I do know that CNN is hoping for some “fireworks” between candidates as it would be good for ratings!
