33 year old Lance Calvin Buckley has been missing since Tuesday, May 5, 2015 while commuting from Stafford County, VA to Howard University in Washington, DC. Buckely was last seen on Tuesday when his mother dropped him off at the Staffordboro Commuter Lot off Route 610 where he slugs, or gets a ride with a stranger, to school. The commuter lot is about 40 miles from Howard university. Lance Calvin Buckley is a PhD student was going to Howard University to pick up his graduation packet from the Washington, DC.

He was last seen by his family at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Staffordboro Commuter Lot, where he uses a slug line to commute to Howard University. “Sluggers” are commuters who wait for rides from strangers who can then use the high-occupancy vehicle lanes. Police say Buckley, a PhD. student at the university, was on his way to campus to pick up graduation materials.
Stafford authorities said Buckley used an ATM after arriving in D.C., and at 10:16 a.m., he sent a text message to his wife, Amy, from the area of Howard University.
He never showed up for a scheduled meeting at noon. His family has not heard from him since the text message.
Buckley is the father of an 11-day-old baby girl and a 3-year-old daughter.
Authorities say it’s out of character for him not to keep in contact with his family during the day.
Buckley is 5-feet-11-inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has brown hair. He was last seen wearing bluejeans, a dark-colored T-shirt and gray Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.

The Howard University Department of Public Safety, in conjunction with the Stafford County, VA Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person, Mr. Lance Calvin Buckley. Buckley is a Howard University graduate student, reported missing by his family at 7:49 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Buckley was last seen at approximately 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Staffordboro, VA, commuter lot.
Mr. Buckley is described as a 33 year old white male, 5’11, and 150 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark colored t-shirt and gray Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.
Investigators have information that Buckley may be in possession of a firearm. The phone of a missing man scheduled to graduate from Howard University this weekend was briefly electronically located in a Montgomery County park Wednesday, authorities said.
Lance Calvin Buckley, 33, of Stafford County, Virginia, has been missing for more than two days.
Stafford County authorities said on Thursday that Buckley’s phone pinged a day earlier in the area of Blockhouse Point Conservation Park near Darnestown, Maryland. Montgomery County Police searched the area, but didn’t find him.
UPDATE III: Missing Howard University student Lance Buckley found alive.
A 33-year-old Howard University student from Virginia who had been missing since Tuesday has been found safe in Maryland, Stafford County authorities said.
Lance Buckley was located Friday in Frederick County at a family campground near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
“We are truly pleased that Mr. Buckley was found safe and in good condition,” said Stafford County Sheriff Charles Jett. “The partnership between the law enforcement agencies, the Media and citizens in this region were critical to locating Lance Buckley.”

Missing Howard Univ. student’s phone pinged in Md.

Police are still looking for a missing Howard University student but say that they briefly located his phone at a park in Maryland.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Lance Calvin Buckley’s phone was electronically located “very briefly” in the area of Blockhouse Point Conservation Park in Montgomery County, Md., according the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office authorities. Montgomery County Police searched the area but did not find Buckley. Police continue to search for him. ….

So the family pleads with the public and law enforcement to find a man that wasn’t actually ‘missing’ he was upset and left to be alone? This is why police hesitate to go searching for adults, because of people like this that tie-up so many agencies looking for people that were never in danger, the only foul-play is the family abusing the system.
