Pioneering Female Stand-Up Comic Icon Joan Rivers Dies at Age 81, Rest in Peace

How sad, one of the very most funny comedians ever has passed away … “CAN WE TALK HERE?”

Comedic icon Joan Rivers has passed away at the age of 81 at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC from complications of surgery on her vocal cords. Joan Rivers was groundbreaking, edgy, unabashed, but most of all she was just funny as hell. On a person note she is and will always be one of my all-time favorites. Rivers said things that no one else would, but the way she delivered it was not mean. Her mocking of others was only outdone by her incredible self-deprecating humor. She was born Joan Alexandra Molinsky on June 8, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY to Russian immigrants. Joan Rivers got her big break in 1965 when she appeared on the Tonight Show. Then In 1983, after frequent appearances on Carson’s “Tonight Show,” she was designated the first permanent guest host. She certainly did break down barriers for women in comedy.

One of the best comments in describing Rivers was, “Comedians typically push the edge of the envelope, but Rivers proved time and again that she didn’t even see the envelope.” So very, very true. The world just became a little less funny.

Joan Rivers, a pioneering female stand-up comic and the queen of “Can We Talk?” gossip, has died, her daughter, Melissa Rivers, said Thursday. She was 81.

Rivers was undergoing surgery on her vocal cords at a clinic in New York City on Aug. 28 when she stopped breathing and had to be transported to Mount Sinai Hospital. Melissa Rivers and Joan Rivers’ 13-year-old grandson, Cooper, who live in Malibu, California, rushed to her bedside.

“My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh,” Melissa Rivers said in a statement. “Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.”

Joan Rivers returns to The Tonight Show. She had been banned from the show forever after she took a gig with Fox and went up against the comedic king Johnny Carson. Rivers first appeared on the Tonight Show 49 years ago, then was banned. However, Jimmy Fallon welcomed Joan Rivers and she explained why she was a little late as only Joan could.

J.T. Smith, a Democrat candidate for Alabama’s 3rd Congressional district tweeted the following out on Monday stating that the “actions of Republicans in Congress are worse than #ISIL”. Smith is the Democrat nominee is facing Alabama GOP Rep. Mike Rogers. Smith actually took to Facebook to try and talk his way out of this nonsensical, reprehensible comment. Sorry JT, Iraq War veteran or no vet, you are an ass. ISIS rapes and murders little girls, they behead Americans, they savagely and brutally kill anything in their path and you would make such a comparison to the GOP?

So when Democrats are not calling Republicans racists, they are calling them terrorists instead. UNREAL.

Mr. Smith, an Iraq War veteran who faces Rep. Mike Rogers in November, later took to Facebook to explain his tweet.

“Twitter does not allow for context, but this does,” he said. “I am not saying that the Republican Party is beheading people in the streets, obviously. Here in America, because we are a civilized democracy, we do not use violence against each other as a means of control. The Republicans have used the economy as a means to terrorize the people of this country.”

This should be subtitled, Mr. Smith doesn’t go to Washington.

Barack Obama’s Gutless Meandering on ISIL: From Promises of “Degrade and Destroy” to a “Manageable Problem” all in One Speech

AND YOU WONDER WHY ISIS OR ANYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD DOES NOT FEAR THE US … THANKS BARACK OBAMA.

Yet another heading shaking speech for Barack Obama in reaction to ISIS … Barack Obama spoke earlier this morning in Estonia and once again made an attempt to address dealing with ISIS as he failed miserably last week with his, “we have no strategy” comment. This time Obama began by saying ...”Our objective is clear, and that is to degrade and destroy ISIL, so that it is no longer a threat”. Tough talk from a paper tiger who has done nothing but dither on ISIS and refuse to say that we are at war against them as they (ISIL) are most certainly at war against the United States. However, Obama’s lack of a strategy in dealing with ISIS and his definition of clear are a mystery to the rest of us. Yet again Obama presented a mixed message as he went from promises of bringing ISIS to justice and to “degrade and destroy” them to at the speech’s end saying that ISIS a “manageable problem” if the “international community” comes together. WOW, yet more lack of leadership from Obama.

A manageable problem? What’s that mean, only foreign media will be beheaded? Is it manageable Mr. President if ISIS only rapes and kills 10 women and children a day rather than 20? Or maybe Obama will manage the number of individuals who are stones to death or he are shot in the head by ISIS for not converting to Islam?  Maybe it’s manageable if ISIS only creates a caliphate of 3/4th of Iraq and Syria, rather than all of it?

Sorry Obama, under your dithering presidency, our objective has been never less clear. His speech was nothing but a cautious speech that rang hollow. Okay, I am just going to put the obvious out there … if your OBJECTIVE is to DESTROY ISIS, why in the HELL would you need to MANAGE IT? What is our mission, to crush them or contain them!!! What a clear message from Obama.

“And the question is going to be making sure we’ve got the right strategy but also making sure we’ve got the international will to do it. This is something that is a continuation of  a problem we’ve seen certainly since 9/11, but before and it continues to metastasize in different ways. And what we’ve got to do is make sure that we are organizing the Arab world, the Middle East, the Muslim world, along with the internationl community to isolate this cancer.

“This particular brand of extremism that is first and foremost destructive to the Muslim world and the Arab World and North Africa and the people who live there. They’re the ones who are most severly affected. They’re the ones who are constantly under threat of being killed. They’re the ones whose econimies are completely upended to the point where they can’t produce their own food and they can’t produce the kinds of goods and services to sell in the world marketplace.

“And they’re falling behind because of this very small and narrow but very dangerous segment of the population. And we’ve got to combat it in a sustained, effective way. And I’m confident we’re going to be able to do that.”

Needless to say ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Putin, Iran, North Korea and the rest of the enemies of the US are wetting themselves laughing at you and US.
