WANTED: Jesse ‘LJ’ Matthew for Two Counts of Reckless Driving and POI in the Disappearance of Missing UVA Student Hannah Graham
WANTED: Jesse ‘LJ’ Matthew, for two counts of reckless driving and questioning in the disappearance of missing University of Virgina student Hannah Graham. A wanted poster was issued today for a nursing assistant described as a ‘person of interest’ in the case of missing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham. The Charlottesville Police Department released a wanted poster on Matthew stating, the 6-foot-2, 270-pound black man was last reported on Sunday as driving his sister’s 1997 light blue Nissan Sentra, and notes that he is said to have contacts in Virginia, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

Detectives on Monday returned for a second time to search the apartment of Jesse ‘LJ’ Matthew in Charlottesville. It is believed that Matthew is the last person to be seen with the 18-year-old before she vanished last week.
Matthew, 32, is wanted on two counts of reckless driving for speeding away from the police station. He hasn’t been charged in the student’s disappearance.
According to Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo, Matthew walked into the police station with two relatives on Saturday but quickly left the station after asking to speak to a lawyer.

Suspect Charged with Abduction with Intent to Defile in Graham Case

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) – Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr., previously a person of interest in the case of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham’s disappearance, is now charged with abduction with intent to defile.Charlottesville police announced the new charge, a class 2 felony, at a press conference Tuesday night. Matthew, 32, is now wanted on that charge as well as two charges of reckless driving. Police believe he was the last person seen with Graham, an 18-year-old, second-year student from Northern Virginia who has been missing since September 13.
