Democrat Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon Says “Vigorous Prosecution Must Now Be Pursued” …

GOV. JAY NIXON … JUDGE, JURY AND EXECUTIONER … HE SAID WHAT?

Seriously, imagine being a police officer in Ferguson, MO or in the state of Missouri for that matter with a governor that has already prejudged the shooting death of Michael Brown at the hands of officer Darren Wilson? Gov. Nixon (D-MO) stated that a “vigorous prosecution must now be pursued”. Not just any prosecution, but a vigorous one.  Actually sir, a vigorous investigation needs to occur to determine what actually happened the day of the shooting and the events that led to it, not a vigorous prosecution so to placate your voting base. Just curious … what is correct justice as defined by this governor? Does Gov. Nixon know something that we don’t? Hardly. This political gas bag is only making matters worse. Much can be inferred in the fact that he used the word “correctly” last.  I can’t imagine that police officers in Missouri are too enamored with Nixon seeing that he has pre-judged this case and his only idea of justice is for Michael Brown. No one at this point knows exactly what happened, not even Gov. Nixon.  Police officer Darren Wilson may be in the end at fault; however, what if he was not, the fact prove it and a jury finds him not guilty?  Would that be justice as well?

“A vigorous prosecution must now be pursued,”

“The democratically elected St. Louis county prosecutor and the attorney general of the United States each have a job to do.”

“Their obligation to achieve justice in the shooting death of Michael Brown must be carried out thoroughly, promptly, and correctly”

Gov. Nixon Calls For ‘Vigorous Prosecution’ Of Darren Wilson.

Not content with a regular prosecution or a vigorous investigation, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said he hopes that Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson will receive a “vigorous prosecution” in the shooting death of Michael Brown on Aug. 9.

“A vigorous prosecution must now be pursued,” Nixon said in a five minute video address posted to his website Tuesday.

“The democratically elected St. Louis county prosecutor and the attorney general of the United States each have a job to do,” said Nixon, a Democrat.

“Their obligation to achieve justice in the shooting death of Michael Brown must be carried out thoroughly, promptly, and correctly,” said Nixon of investigators.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder plans to visit Ferguson on Wednesday to meet with federal law enforcement officials and community leaders. Forty FBI investigators traveled to Ferguson over the weekend to interview witnesses.

Nixon has not directly justified his call for a strong prosecution. He has not indicated that he has any information on the shooting that has not been made public.

Jay Nixon is a disgrace to Missouri and needs to be removed from office, impeached for foregoing Daren Wilson’s constitutional right to “Innocent until proven Guilty”.

He has to say what the people want to hear or he may not get reelected. That’s his main concern.

Maybe the other side should stage a few protests, walks, chants, tear up the town.
Oh yeah, we don’t act like that.

This governor is playing to the news media. This sets a terrible precedent for the rule of law.

He, like most of the nation, has little to no knowledge of actual facts surrounding the case.

SM is exactly correct in calling for a vigorous investigation of the shooting. A perp that resists arrest by assaulting an officer and tries to run away may find lethal force used to stop them.

Most of the early story is based on the word of Mr. Brown’s partner in the strong-arm robbery, which has now been refuted by other witnesses.

A vigorous investigation of the facts may show that the officer was attacked in his vehicle. How did the officer obtain the broken bone around his eye?

The “rabble rousers” have accomplished their goal by looting and destroying businesses in the community and creating unrest for those citizens living there. The Federal Government via Obama and Holder have absolutely no business in sticking their nose into a local and state issue.

What you say now Governor Nixon? Could it be that the outcome of your statement upholding Michael Brown and vilifying Darren Wilson without any investigative foundation will result in your downfall? How much did you get paid?

The entire article is a good read.

That’s just crazy. I remember when Richard Nixon said something to the effect that Manson was guilty, and although it caused an uproar, the jury was sequestered and it didn’t make a difference. Another Nixon mistake. The only information we have which comes from the officer’s point of view is a woman who purports to be a friend to whom he told the story. I don’t know if she’s lying or telling the truth. If she is being truthful, although the woman who had the radio show to whom she called in to give the information, said she was using an assumed name. Don’t blame her for that, I wouldn’t give my real name either. But if her story is true, it now appears that the Michael Brown was the agressor. But we do not yet know the truth. I’m withholding judgement until I know more.
But I do know it disturbs me very much to see police officers armed to the teeth with military grade weapons. Obama said he would form a “Domestic army” and now he has one.

Jay Nixon is the kind of Democrat that blows with the wind. No guts, no brains, a lot like the ex-Senator from Illinois who is polluting the WH with his limp-wristed OTOH-OTO.

Holder is a corrupt criminal who should have a Special Prosecutor looking into his politicization of this case.

BTW, that 300-lb thug deserves to be dead for assaulting a police officer. One less POS to populate the streets.

I don’t believe that the penalty for hitting a police officer is death. However, if it is as it now appears to be, that the officer was injured and this thug was running at him apparently to do more bodily damage, then certainly the police officer had a right to shoot him. However, we don’t know the facts as yet and really haven’t even heard the officer’s side, except through a self-proclaimed friend. Hearsay. For reasons which remain unclear, the PD has not released the incident report. Why is that, do you suppose? Is there something in it which the PD feels should not be released? If there is nothing to hide and if the “Friend’s” account is true, then it should have already been released. Doing so might have prevented the rioting and looting, although there is no excuse for that kind of behavior. If it shows that Michael Brown was the agressor, why is it withheld? So far I see neither side as being absolutely right in this case. I withhold my judgement as to whom is at fault until the facts are in.
