The Hypocrisy of the Left, the Global Warming Folks and Tom Steyer … Billionaire Hedge Fund Hypocrite Made Money from Coal

Billionaire liberal and so called climate change activist Tom Steyer, he was for coal, before he was against it.

Define hypocrisy, see Tom Steyer. As reported in the New York Times this weekend, Tom Steyer, the most influential environmentalist in American politics, who has vowed to spend $100 million this year to defeat candidates through his PAC, NextGEN Climate, who oppose policies to combat climate change in fact made his billions by, hold it, hold it … investing in coal. You just can’t make this stuff up.  But then again, one does not have to when it comes to the liberal, double standard Left. Steyer has been one of the main opponents of the XL Keystone pipeline.

Talk about a complete loss of credibility. If  Steyer is so strongly opposed to climate change and has basically made his fortune by increasing global warming (this is the Left’s philosophy) then why doesn’t he give all his money away?

Hypocrisy Meter

To environmentalists across Australia, it is a baffling anachronism in an era of climate change: the construction of a 4,000-acre mine in New South Wales that will churn out carbon-laden coal for the next 30 years.

The mine’s groundbreaking, in a state forest this year, inspired a veteran to stand in front of a bulldozer and a music teacher to chain himself to a piece of excavation equipment.

But the project had an unlikely financial backer in the United States, whose infusion of cash helped set it in motion: Tom Steyer, the most influential environmentalist in American politics, who has vowed to spend $100 million this year to defeat candidates who oppose policies to combat climate change.

Mr. Steyer, a billionaire former hedge fund manager, emerged this election season as the green-minded answer to Charles G. and David H. Koch, the patrons of conservative Republican politics, after vowing that he would sell off his investments in companies that generate fossil fuels like coal.

Much, much more on the hypocrisy of the Left and Tom Steyer from Power Line, who was reporting on this story long before the NY Times decided that the news was fit to print.

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) says Obama Administration One Step Behind on Immigration Crisis And Should Have Seen It Coming

Who is to say he didn’t and this wasn’t his plan all along?

It is not just Republicans who are being critical of Barack Obama and his dealing with US immigration policies. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) appeared on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ this Sunday and stated, “let’s keep in mind, with all due respect to the administration, they’re one step behind.”  Hmm, just one step? What does anyone think would happen when you do not secure your border?

Full CNN transcript can be read HERE.

CUELLAR: It’s not the first time we have seen a surge, and we should have been ready for this surge. The administration should have been ready.

CROWLEY: Well, I think you both agree the administration, you don’t feel, was ready.

Let me ask you, Congressman, do you think the president will get the $2 billion plus that he’s asking for to meet this emergency situation, with more help at the border, more social workers to deal with the children?

CUELLAR: Well, again, we got Border Patrol securing the border right now, as you can see behind us.

But the president has asked for some money. He certainly can move some moneys around, and we can handle that at the end if we want to. Again, let’s keep in mind, with all due respect to the administration, they’re one step behind.

They should have seen this coming a long time ago. They should have seen this a long time ago, because we saw those numbers increasing. We’re hoping that we can get that money, so we can provide more detention spaces, more flights down there. And, again, if we put those young children and those mothers and the right caregivers in those countries, I think this would solve — there is an incentive, there is an incentive that, if you bring a child over here or your child by themselves, you’re going to be let go.

And that’s exactly what is happening. Our immigration courts are so backlogged, there’s not enough detention spaces. And, therefore, this is the incentive that we have to take away. And that’s the 2008 human trafficking law that needs to be changed at this time.

UPDATE I: Deputies & Citizens Continue to Search for missing St. James girl, Talaija Dorsey.

On Friday deputies extended their search all the way to Jefferson Parish.

On Saturday Sheriff Martin said deputies continued to search the fields around Dorsey’s residence and along the highways.  Sheriff Martin says deputies in surrounding parishes continued their searches as well.

Deputies have been focusing their efforts on less-traveled, rural routes along Highway 3127 in St. Charles Parish. It’s the route Talaija’s soon-to-be stepdad, John Celestine, 42, drives to work everyday.

Deputies are concentrating more and more on Celestine, but have yet to identify his as the suspect. He is being held on obstruction charges in this case. Deputies also say he has a prior, out-of-state arrest for child cruelty against a family member, though he was not charged ultimately in that case.

Authorities have made an arrest in the disappearance of a 12-year-old, booking the fiancé of the girl’s mother on obstruction of justice, St. James officials announced late Wednesday.

Deputies booked John D. Celestine, 43, who lived in the Pecan Street home with the family, on felony obstruction of justice and a false communication count, said Maj. Sid Berthelot, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Celestine was being held in the parish jail in Convent awaiting setting of bail. Because of the potential of additional charges against Celestine, investigators are not releasing further information, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The announcement was made during a Sunday afternoon news conference.

Sheriff Willy J. Martin, Jr., said that 12-year-old Talaija Dorsey’s body was found around 10:20 a.m. Sunday at the edge of a cane field in a wooded area. During the news conference Sheriff Willy said that he took Dorsey’s disappearance personally.  He also said that he discovered the body himself.

The sheriff did confirm that Talaija’s mother’s fiancé, John Celestine, 43, who had been named a person of interest in the case and was charged with obstruction of justice, has been upgraded to a suspect. He is being held at the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail in Convent, and reportedly has not been cooperating with investigators. Louisiana State Police are working forensics at the scene and hope to uncover evidence within the next couple of days to move the case forward.

Martin said he found the body around 10:20 a.m. Sunday. State Police Lt. Todd Toloudis said Martin was searching for the body alone this morning when he found it.

Is Barack Obama Really Privately Promising Elizabeth Warren His Support Against Hillary Clinton In 2016?

In the end, is there really any difference between Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren? I think not.

According to a NY Post article, President Barack Obama has quietly promised Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) complete support if she runs for president. That would be quite something since Hillary was Obama’s Secretary of State and had it not been for Bill Clinton’s speech at the Democrat National Convention in 2012, Obama most likely would have not been reelected. And what about VP Joe Biden, what if he runs?  However, to date Warren has claimed that she has no intention of running for president in 2016. But if she does become convinced to run in the Democrat primary, it would most likely cause a fissure in the Democrat Party and a political Civil War the likes we have not seen in years.

Of course I am going to back you in 2016 against Hillary Clinton

Of course I am going to back you Hillary in 2016

President Obama has quietly promised Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren complete support if she runs for president — a stinging rebuke to his nemesis Hillary Clinton, sources tell me.

Publicly, Obama has remained noncommittal on the 2016 race, but privately he worries that Clinton would undo and undermine many of his policies. There’s also a personal animosity, especially with Bill Clinton, that dates from their tough race six years ago.

A former Harvard law professor and administration aide, Warren would energize the left wing of the Democrat Party just as Obama did against Clinton in 2008.

Thanks to her outspoken stand against big banks and the top 1 percent, Warren is the darling of progressives. She won her Senate seat thanks to millions of dollars in donations from outside Massachusetts, including from rich environmentalists and Hollywood celebrities.

Barack Obama’s fear is that Hillary Clinton will undo many of Obama’s policies. Really, like what? Make no mistake out it America, Hillary Clinton is as liberal, if not more than Obama. The only difference is that she at many times lies about her true colors. She is certainly even more liberal than her husband Bubba. Hillary will not undo Obamacare, she is the Grandmother of Obamacare. She has pretty much painted herself into a corner defending Obama’s policies as a senator and Secretary of State. Face it, Hillary is just as much of an ideological as Obama. She is more like Obama, than her husband Bill Clinton.

Obama has authorized his chief political adviser, Valerie Jarrett, to conduct a full-court press to convince Warren to throw her hat into the ring.

In the past several weeks, Jarrett has held a series of secret meetings with Warren. During these meetings, Jarrett has explained to Warren that Obama is worried that if Hillary succeeds him in the White House, she will undo many of his policies.

He believes that the populist Warren is the best person to convince the party faithful that Hillary is out of touch with poor Americans and the middle class. Warren, in his view, would carry on the Obama legacy after he leaves the White House.

If this does come to fruition, it will be more about a power-play of who has the power in the Democrat party than Obama believing Hillary will change his policies. It is about the tension that still exists between the Clinton’s and Obama from 2008. However, make no mistake about it, if Elizabeth Warren does run, it will be a battle Royal for the soul of the Democrat party and all will see just how radically liberal and socialist the Democrat party has truly become.
