On Tuesday, David Ferriero, the top United States archivist of federal records, told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that the IRS broke the law when it failed to report loss of emails. David S. Ferriero, the chief archivist at the National Archives said, “In accordance with the Federal Records Act, when an agency becomes aware of an incident of unauthorized destruction, they must report the incident to us.” Ferriero told the House Oversight Committee that federal agencies are supposed to report whenever their records are destroyed or even accidentally deleted; however, he stated that nobody told the National Archives after emails from IRS official Lois Lerner vanished after a computer failure in 2011. Imagine that? How about the six others whose computers miraculously crashed as well? Were they reported?

The top U.S. official in charge of archiving federal records testified Tuesday that the IRS ran afoul of the law by neglecting to tell his office that a trove of emails from the woman at the center of the targeting scandal disappeared after an apparent hard drive crash.

Archivist of the U.S. David Ferriero, speaking before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, made clear that federal agencies are supposed to report whenever their records are destroyed or even accidentally deleted. But he said that after emails from embattled IRS official Lois Lerner vanished after a computer failure in 2011, nobody told the National Archives.

“They did not follow the law,” Ferriero said.

Obamanomics at its finest … The Obama economy is worse than first reported. The GDP for QTR 1 for 2014 was not -1.0%, it was -2.9%!!! This marks the biggest decline since early 2009 when the Great Recession was winding down.

The U.S. economy contracted at a worse pace than previously estimated in the first quarter, marking its sharpest pullback since the recession ended five years ago.

Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of goods and services produced across the economy, contracted at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 2.9% in the first three months of the year, according to the Commerce Department’s third reading released Wednesday. That was the fastest rate of decline since the first quarter of 2009, when output fell 5.9%.

Commerce had previously estimated output fell by 1% in the first quarter as manufacturers drew down inventories rather than produce new goods and as unusually harsh weather kept consumers at home and shut down work sites. Exports also declined after a surge late last year.

Here are the excuses for the reason why you should not fret about the -2.9 GDP, it’s the weather’s fault, it’s not a final number:and other data show the economy is improving. Really, it’s not the final numbers? They just revised it down from -1% to -2.9%, do you mean it could get revised even lower?

Missing: Charlie Bothuelle V

The FBI joined Detroit police in the search for Charlie Bothuelle V, who was last seen at 9 p.m. June 14, leaving his home in the 1300 block of Nicolet Place, near Gratiot Avenue, after working out.

Last week, the FBI used cadaver dogs to search Charlie’s home, which led them to a nearby elementary school playground where Charlie is known to hang out. The search went cold at the playground, said the boy’s father, Charlie Bothuelle IV.

Bothuelle and several other family members passed out fliers last week at the nearby Martin Luther King Apartments, where one resident told relatives she saw Charlie walking east on Lafayette on June 14.

At the same time, the boy’s father has been hitting the streets every day searching for his boy. Tuesday night he appeared on “Nancy Grace” begging for help to find him.

UPDATE I: Lie detector twist in case of missing 12-year-old Charlie Bothuell.

Hmm, why would you not tell police the truth about something that seems so minor? Originally, the father of the missing boy told police that Charlie was working out when he stopped to go to the bathroom and never came back.   However, Tuesday he told a different story. He says there were some chores that he didn’t do and he cut his work out short.

There is a new twist in the case of a missing 12-year-old boy from Detroit who was last seen leaving his home on June 14.

Polygraph tests for Charlie Bothuell’s father have come back inconclusive. The child’s stepmother declined to take the polygraph test.

She tells 7 Action News her attorney told her to decline the lie detector test because she did not think she would be treated fairly.

The father and stepmother both say they feel like they have been treated like suspects.
