Global Warming? There is Snow in 49 Out of 50 States in United States
Global warming, eh?
USA Today is reporting that 49 out of 50 US states have snow on the ground. Of course for Barack Obama that would be 49 out of 57 states. Of course some states have more snow cover than other, like areas of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey that are getting hammered by the latest snowmegeddon. Other areas in the South like Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas were also pounded by snow and ice and from the latest storm.
Chart from NOAA
Snow is on the ground in 49 out of the 50 states — only the Sunshine State of Florida is completely snow-free, according to a map produced Thursday morning by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
(This doesn’t mean that those 49 states are snow-covered, of course, only that some part of each state has snow.)
Although this map doesn’t show it, there is snow in Hawaii, where webcams are showing snow on the high peaks of the mountain volcanoes of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea.
The map also doesn’t include Alaska, but it’s a given that most of that state is snow-covered this time of year. A quick check with the National Weather Service forecast office in Fairbanks found 19 inches of snow on the ground there.
‘Snow is a four-letter word’: Northeast hit with another storm; South still reeling from ice.
Deadly Storm to Produce Another Round of Snow, Sleet.
Another winter storm dumps on US East Coast; more than 6,500 flights grounded.
But of course according to Al Gore and Barack Obama, it is settled science, it’s global warming.

Body of Missing Garden Ridge Woman Leanne Bearden Found in Texas in Wooded Area … Death Appears to be an Apparent Suicide (MAP of Area) … Suicide?(Update: Death Ruled a Suicide … Asphyxiation by Hanging)
33 year old Leanne Bearden has been missing since January 17, 2014 when she was last seen going for a walk on Friday afternoon around 1:00 pm in the Garden Ridge, TX area. Several searches have taken place for the missing woman to no avail. Today, Garden Ridge police Chief Donna O’Conner said a body found in the backyard of a Garden Ridge home this afternoon is believed to be that of missing Leanne Bearden. According to reports, the death appears to be an apparent suicide. Bearden’s body was found a few blocks from where she was last seen walking on Jan. 17 by a man working in the area.
Seriously? Leanne Bearden has been missing for about a month, numerous searches were made, including a 23 sq. mile targeted area, yet a two block radius around the home that Bearden left to go on her walk on January 17th was not searched with a fine tooth comb, really? Law enforcement and the family believed from the outset that there was no foul play, Leanne might have left on her own, or she might have injured herself or gotten lost while on her hike. Neighbors and property owners were asked to be on the look out for the missing woman and to check their property and out-buildings. With all that, Leanne Bearden was sadly found today deceased what is stated to be an apparent suicide. I must admit having been a part of many missing person searches, I am a bit amazed and some what suspicious that this area was not previously and better searched.
The home where her body was found is located in the 21000 block of Fairview Circle, about two blocks from where she was last seen.
A source in Comal County confirmed to KSAT’s Steve Spriester late Thursday afternoon that her death was an apparent suicide.
Dispatch received a call at 12:18 p.m. on Thursday from a man who told them he spotted a body in a wooded area behind his house, O’Conner said.
The homeowner said he discovered Bearden’s body around noon on Thursday in a brushy area behind his home.
That area is an undeveloped part of his property he does not walk through often, but did on Thursday.
Garden Ridge police, Comal County Sheriff’s deputies and Texas Rangers went to the scene and examined the body, which had some identifying jewelry as well as a backpack, O’Conner said. She was apparently found with the same backpack she was carrying when she left her in-laws house.

UPDATE I: Thursday evening, Bearden’s family issued the following statement:
“Our family is understandably devastated by the news of the recovery of the remains of our beloved Leanne. We wish to thank the myriad of people who helped us search for Leanne, and who helped support us throughout this entire nightmare. We also wish to thank the members of the media who helped us tell our story. We thank the Garden Ridge Police Department and other agencies who provided such caring service to us. We especially thank the Heidi Search Center for their wonderful help and support. Although this is not the outcome we had hoped for, we draw comfort and strength from the outpouring of prayers, actions and good wishes from all — including over 20,000 Facebook friends. We ask for your continued prayers and good wishes for our family. Leanne was a lovely and remarkable young woman and we will all miss her greatly.”
UPDATE II: Body of missing woman found in wooded Texas area. … Chief of Police Not Speculating on Cause of death.
The body of a woman who had been missing for almost a month was found in a wooded area behind a home Thursday in Garden Ridge.
Leanne Bearden, 33, went for a walk on Jan. 17 while visiting her in-laws in Garden Ridge, and never came back.
Police responded to the scene around noon after receiving a tip from a person who spotted the body.
Donna O’Conner, Garden Ridge’s police chief, said both families had been notified after the body was found with ID, jewelry and a backpack, according to WOAI, the NBC affiliate in San Antonio.
The chief would not speculate as to the cause of death, and said they were waiting to get “all the facts.”
UPDATE III: Death Of Missing Denver Woman In Texas Ruled Suicide.
Police in Texas have released a statement saying a Denver woman who was missing for weeks and was found dead on Thursday killed herself.
Leanne Bearden went for a walk from her in-laws’ home in Garden Ridge, Texas on Jan. 17. She never returned. Her body was discovered just blocks from where she was last seen.
“Bearden’s preliminary cause of death result is asphyxiation by hanging,” according to a release from Garden Ridge, Texas, Police Chief Donna O’Conner.

Democrats Running Ads Criticizing Obamacare … Joe Garcia Running in Florida’s 26th District Hardly Praising O-Care
From NRO, Democrats are forced to run political ads that criticize Obamacare.
Nancy Pelosi said that Democrats would proudly run on Obamacare, not away from it in the 2014 midterm elections. Um, the Democrat political ad below is hardly a ringing endorsement of President Obama’s signature piece of legislation. Democrats feel the need to have to discuss Obamacare and continually bring up the fact that it is a disaster. This is hardly the word choice and lasting impression that you want to leave with voters. An already angry electorate who has lost their insurance because of Obamacare, lost their doctors and had their premiums increased. If this is how Dems are going to have to contort themselves in 2014, they are in some serious trouble.
Now, it is true that Garcia doesn’t call for repeal. Indeed, the ad boasts that the candidate is “working to fix” the law, and it praises him both for holding “insurance companies accountable” and for defending the provision that prevents insurance companies from denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. But it is fascinating to watch a Political Action Committee associated with Nancy “we’re going to run on Obamacare” Pelosi slamming the White House for “the disastrous healthcare website” and boasting — without any time qualification, it should be said — that its man “voted to let you keep your existing health plan.”
But, in Florida’s 26th district — as in much of the country one presumes — the choice in 2014 is going to be between a candidate who is criticizing Obamacare and a candidate who wants to get rid of it completely. Democrats are being forced to have a conversation they’d rather not have. Bottom line: The issue isn’t dead — far from it.

Liberal & Obama Supporter Attorney Jonathan Turley Says Expansion of Barack Obama’s Presidential Powers Threatens Liberty
WOW, IF THIS DOES NOT WAKE PEOPLE UP, NOTHING WILL … LIB ATTY AND OBAMA SUPPORTER BLASTS OBAMA’S ACTIONS
Last night on ‘The Kelly Files,’ Jonathan Turley, a liberal Constitutional attorney and Obama supporter said a mouthful last night with regards to the imperial president, Barack Obama’s “unilateral” and Unconstitutional actions. Turley stated, “I’m afraid this is beginning to border on a cult of personality for people on the left” and Well, you know, a system in which a single individual is allowed to rewrite legislation or ignore legislation is a system that borders on authoritarianism.”
This is a must watch interview and remember, this is coming from a lib. Turley is basically describing … “TYRANNY”.
Transcript from Real Clear Politics:
KELLY: Let me ask you about this because in that soundbite we played before we went to commercial, you said the framers would be horrified because everything they did was to create balance between the branches of government and we’ve lost that.
TURLEY: Well, I’m afraid it’s quite serious because the framers created a system that was designed to avoid one principle thing, the concentration of power in any one branch. Because that balancing between these branches in this fixed orbit is what not only gives stability to our system but it protects us against authoritarian power, it protects civil liberties from abuse.
And what we’ve been seeing is the shift of gravity within that system in a very dangerous way that makes it unstable, and I think that’s what the president is doing. I think that we’ve become a nation of enablers. We are turning a blind eye to a fundamental change in our system. I think many people will come to loathe that they remained silent during this period.
KELLY: We heard a lot of objections when President Bush expanded the powers of the presidency from the left and from the media. They haven’t been raising the same objections now that we have a Democrat in The White House. And you say they do so at their own peril.
TURLEY: I’m afraid this is beginning to border on a cult of personality for people on the left. I happen to agree with many of President Obama’s policies, but in our system it is often as important how you do something as what you do.
And I think that many people will look back at this period in history and see nothing but confusion as to why people remained so silent when the president asserted these types of unilateral actions. You have a president who is claiming the right to basically rewrite or ignore or negate federal laws. That is a dangerous thing. It has nothing to do with the policies; it has to do with politics.
KELLY: Why is it so dangerous? What’ so bad that will come of this?
TURLEY: Well, you know, a system in which a single individual is allowed to rewrite legislation or ignore legislation is a system that borders on authoritarianism. I don’t believe that we are that system yet. But we cannot ignore that we’re beginning to ignore a system that is a pretense of democracy if a president is allowed to take a law and just simply say, ‘I’m going to ignore this,’ or, ‘I’m going to shift funds that weren’t appropriated by Congress into this area.’
The president’s State of the Union indicated this type of unilateralism that he has adopted as a policy. Now, many people view that as somehow empowering. In my view, it’s dangerous, that is what he is suggesting is to essentially put our system off line. This is not the first time that convenience has become the enemy of principle. But we’ve never seen it to this extent.
KELLY: What is supposed to be done about it? You know, I know in your testimony before Congress you cited Ben Franklin who believed that the other branches would work in their own self interest to try to reign in a president who got drunk on his own power, or however you want to put it. You know, Congress doesn’t have — they can withdrawal money, they can move to impeach, they can file lawsuits –which they’ve done — I mean, what are they supposed to do?
TURLEY: Part of the problem really rests with the federal courts. For the last two decades, federal courts have been engaged in a policy of avoidance. They are not getting involved when the executive branch exceeds its powers, they’re just leaving it up to the branches. And often they say Congress has the power of the purse, Congress can simply restrict funds.
But one of the complaints against President Obama is that very clearly dedicated funds in areas like healthcare, have been just shifted by the White House unilaterally to different areas. And the courts have adopted this avoidance policy.
I am astonished by the degree of passivity in Congress, particularly by Democrats. You know, I first came to Congress when I was a young page and there were people that fiercely believed in the institution. It didn’t matter what party held the White House. But what we’re seeing now is the usurpation of authority that’s unprecedented in this country.
