Body of Missing Virginia Police Capt. Kevin Quick Found; 3 More Arrested in Officer’s Murder (Halisi Uhuru, Anthony Stokes Jr. & Leslie Casterlow)(Update: Suspects Had Gang Ties, Prior Criminal History)

Three more individuals have been arrested in the death of  Waynesboro Police reserve Captain Kevin Quick. Halisi Uhuru, Leslie Casterlow and Anthony Stokes are accused of killing Kevin Quick during an abduction early this week. Quick’s body was found next to a road in Goochland County, about 60 miles west of Richmond, on Thursday afternoon. An autopsy has confirmed that found human remains are those of a Waynesboro reserve police officer who was reported missing a week ago.

Three people were arrested after the body of a missing Virginia police captain was found dumped on alongside a rural road, according to a report.

The trio of suspects — Halisi Uhuru, Leslie Casterlow and Anthony Stokes — are accused of killing Waynesboro Police reserve Captain Kevin Quick during an abduction early this week.

UPDATE I: In a press conference police said the case has changed status to a death investigation.

“Unfortunately this case transitioned from an investigation into a disappearance, into a death investigation, and as a result we are still very actively pursuing new leads,” Geller said Friday afternoon, a week after Quick disappeared.

Late Thursday night police made more arrests in connection with the case; two men and a woman were arrested. Police believe additional charges could be made, and possibly additional suspects charged.

Forty-nine-year-old Leslie Hope Casterlow, of 10900 block Wild Ginger Cir. in Manassas, 31-year-old Anthony Darnell Stokes Jr, of the 10000 block Portsmouth Rd. in Manassas and 22-year-old Halisi Uhuru, of the 1700 block Franklin Tpke. in Danville, were charged with Principle 2nd Degree Capital Murder During Abduction.

This charge is different from Capital Murder in that it is not punishable by death penalty but is punishable by life in prison.

The Commonwealth’s Attorney has also added a felony count of Gang Participation for each  individual arrested Thursday, though investigators would not go into detail.

UPDATE II: Suspects in Capt. Kevin Quick’s death had gang ties and were out on early prison release.

What a shock, some suspects involved in the death of Kevin Quick had a criminal history and had been let out on good behavior. Gert Wright, also known as Halisi Uhuru, was let out of prison early. Wright’s family wrote letters to the state requesting that he get out early, saying “Gert is destined for Greatness.” Yeah, this punk was destined for murder.

Early prison release of those with gang ties just gets them out to go right back into the regular gang activities. These types need to be put away forever.
