More Bad News … America’s Top Hospitals Opt Out of Obamacare & May Not Accept Policies

Now for something completely different. More bad news for Obamacare … Its the gift  law that was rammed down America’s throat along a partisan vote that keeps on giving.

Guess what America, not only may you not be able to keep your insurance if you like it, nor keep your doctor if you like them … now US News & World Report is reporting that because of Obamacare, you may not be able to keep your hospital if you like it as many of the top hospitals in the United States are opting out of Barack Obama’s signature piece of legislation. Could this law be any more of a disaster? Let’s understand this, the entire health care system in the United States was blown up for 5 to 7 million uninsureds? It would have been cheaper just to have subsidized them.

The Obama Administration has been claiming that insurance companies will be competing for your dollars under the Affordable Care Act, but apparently they haven’t surveyed the nation’s top hospitals.

Americans who sign up for Obamacare will be getting a big surprise if they expect to access premium health care that may have been previously covered under their personal policies. Most of the top hospitals will accept insurance from just one or two companies operating under Obamacare.

[...]

Watchdog.org looked at the top 18 hospitals nationwide as ranked by U.S. News and World Report for 2013-2014. We contacted each hospital to determine their contracts and talked to several insurance companies, as well.

The result of our investigation: Many top hospitals are simply opting out of Obamacare.

Chances are the individual plan you purchased outside Obamacare would allow you to go to these facilities. For example, fourth-ranked Cleveland Clinic accepts dozens of insurance plans if you buy one on your own. But go through Obamacare and you have just one choice: Medical Mutual of Ohio.

The NRO makes a couple of astute points that have left a bad taste in many American’s mouths. Had Barack Obama been upfront and truthful and not misrepresented the facts of Obamacare, there is no way that the Democrats could have been passed as “We the People” would have been outraged. Also, Obama has been able to deflect many scandals with the aid of the MSM, but the Obamacare debacle and the facts of the law may be Obama’s ‘Waterloo’.

Obamacare, even with massive Democratic supermajorities in Congress, would never have passed if Americans thought that they would be forced to give up their current plans.

The reason is simple. To begin with, Americans were overwhelmingly happy with the quality of their health care.

Obama might be able to weather many controversies — from IRS-gate to the NSA’s spying on Americans to the disastrous operation of the Obamacare website — by claiming he knew nothing about what was going on.  But his promise that people would be able to keep their insurance policies and doctors is hitting people on a much more personal level.

this was designed to fail folks. just talked to my doctor Monday and he says this is the biggest disaster to ever hit the medical industry. my wife has been a nurse for almost 20 years and along with the doctors at her clinic are having to plan to be out of a job if Ostupid Care is not repealed. even the black doctors are distraught !
older doctors at the clinic are being told that they will not be practicing medicine the way they were taught but basically will be running patients through like cattle with very little diagnisis. he refused to practice Obama type medicine and was told that he would no longer be needed but would have to work out his contract.
it is designed to kill people off, and within less than 2 years we will be forced once again by our black socialist thug government on to the single payer plan. and this will be more worthless than Ostupid care.

It is this type of idiocy that the founding fathers foresaw when they wrote the constitution and the bill of rights. They knew that government and in particular the federal government would never have the personnel required to run most businesses or to understand the business cycle when making law.

The commerce clause was put into the 10th amendment for the sole purpose of preventing a state from taxing another state’s product unfairly. It was never intended to be usurped by the federal government to intrude into every area of business with rules and regulations. It was to be the province of the states to regulate business and very little of that was to occur.

There are approximately six percent of the people in the federal government who have worked in the private sector. Many of them did not work at a management level.

This type of fiasco is exactly why overreach of the federal government should never happen. The Supreme Court has shirked their duty to reign in Congress and the Executive for over 100 years. Most of the laws could not stand true scrutiny of meeting their constitutional authority.

The Cleveland Clinic accepts Medicare and Medicaid. More are eligible for that hospital’s excellent care NOW then before, Any of the hospitals mention above turning down Medicaid and Medicare patients? Answer: NO

Last Summer I read an article in an online medical newsletter aimed at physicians that Obama had CONSIDERED attaching the medical licenses of physicians who refused to provide care ala Obamacare.

I asked one of my physicians if he was aware and he “yes”, confirming what I had read.

      The “how” was not stated

Again, be clear. Obamacare is not about health care for people its true purpose is about more government control of the economy $$$$$

That explains why health care access is actually worse under the ACA than now.

My primary doctor’s office, including billing and medical staff, when asked, has no contracts, no clue about Obamacare.

      And as for DEATH PANELS

Confirmation via Harvard Economist David Cutler (pro healthcare reform) in his Healthcare 2010 Memo to WH (warning of implementation diaster)

      http://www.scribd.com/doc/181039999/Memo-from-David-Cutler-on-health-reform-implementation

      Very interesting sentence
Page 2 number 1, end of paragraph 2

Cutler’s words: “the natural place to start demonstrations is in end-of-life care (Death Panels notwithstanding).”

“Notwithstanding”(syn. despite, in spite of , regardless )
      https://www.google.com/#q=notwithstanding+

In essence, death panels,i.e. “quality-adjusted life years”, the aged based actuarial determaination of medical cost vs life benefit, for the rationing or denial of care, originally did, or still does exist within the ACA, Obamacare law.

      @ #2 & #4

Texas Grandfather is exactly right to infer that government vs. private sector employees can be “different”

“There are approximately six percent of the people in the federal government who have worked in the private sector. Many of them did not work at a management level.”

As example: My ex’s friend, head of one of the largest US pension funds, a mid-western state’s teacher’s retirement fund, directly told him the company would not even consider hiring anyone, even at that advanced level, who had worked for the government for more than 5 years.

It was thought that after 5 years all initiative and drive were destroyed, history.

Having worked both for a mutual fund company and a private social services organization with government contracts I can attest to the general differences.

The entry level people at the mutual fund would run circles around even the master’s degrees in government social services

Generally speaking, the “fund” hiring process specifically required observable drive, high energy and internal motivation apparent from the first interview even at the entry level. Slackers need not apply. Attributes confirmed by their HR
