SHAMEFUL … Sons of FDNY Firefighters Killed By 9/11 Illness Losing Chance to Serve … Government Bureaucrats Say Their Father’s Deaths Weren’t Heroic Enough to be Considered “In the Line of Duty”

And we wonder why people hate the government … What a disgrace, shameful, simply shameful!!!

Ever wonder why Government  bureaucrats  are hated so much? One needs to look no further than the NY Post exclusive story where the son’s of fallen New York City firefighters that were killed because of post 9/11 related illnesses. These government bureaucrats, who will never be confused with heroes, made the determination that the son’s of  firefighters as a result of ‘Ground Zero” illnesses, that their deaths were not heroic enough to be considered killed “in the line of duty”. NYC has a convoluted point system that is provided to those that want to be firefighters and given the son’s of fallen heroes added bonus points, called “legacy points”. However, NYC bureaucrats denied these points to the son’s who’s fathers died as a result of illnesses that resulted from them being at Ground Zero on that fateful day that terrorists attacked the World Trade Center killing nearly 3000 individuals.

They dreamed of following in the firefighter footsteps of their fathers who died of 9/11-related illnesses.

But then government bureaucrats declared their dads’ deaths weren’t heroic enough to be fully considered “in the line of duty.”

At least 13 men who banked on a longstanding FDNY policy granting children of firefighters who died on the job preferential status are devastated because their dreams have gone up in smoke.

“We’ve all been waiting at least five years just to get in the running to get the job. And now that we’re here, they’ve taken away the legacy of our fathers,” said Scott Barocas, whose father, Capt. Sheldon Barocas, died in 2011 from a 9/11-related cancer.

Barocas, 28, is among the unlucky group who received a letter in May from the FDNY notifying them of a mind-boggling interpretation of civil service law that their dads — who endured slow deaths from 9/11-related illnesses — died on administrative duty.

New York Gov. Cuomo has not signed the bill that would redefine death by 9/11 illnesses to as ‘killed in line of duty.’

What else would we expect these days from morons who deal with the 9-11 terror attack and the brave heroes who gave their lives and ran into buildings and helped other at Ground Zero not knowing what they were being exposed to? Is this the way we honor their memories? But when we have idiots at the 9-11 Memorial museum dissing the iconic picture of firefighters raising the America flag as being too ‘rah-rah” America … what would we expect from ignorant liberal government bureaucrats.

This needs to be changed and changed now!

Wikileaks Leaker Bradley Manning Convicted of 5 Charges of Espionage & Theft, Computer Fraud … But Not Guilty of Aiding Enemy (Update: WikiLeaks Blasts Obama)

A military judge has Army Pfc. Bradley Manning was convicted five espionage counts, five theft charges, a computer fraud charge and other military infractions, but found Manning not guilty on the greater charge of aiding the enemy. Even though, convicted of several lesser charges could carry a maximum of  a 136 year prison sentence. Obviously the information that Manning released through WikiLeaks aided the enemy as some of it was found in Bin Laden’s complex when he was killed. This issue was where Manning’s intent was to aid the enemy, not whether it actually did. It is hard to believe that it some one would not think that the release of such classified information would not aid the enemy, but it all comes back to intent.

A military judge acquitted Army Pfc. Bradley Manning on Tuesday of aiding the enemy, but convicted him of violations of the Espionage Act for turning over a trove of classified data to the website WikiLeaks, in a case where the soldier has been portrayed variously as a traitor and as a whistle-blower.

The verdict by the judge, Col. Denise Lind, dismissed the prosecution’s argument that Manning released documents — in the largest leak of classified information in U.S. history — that he knew would end up in the hands of al Qaeda. The verdict also found Manning not guilty of unauthorized possession of information relating to national defense.

FOX News:

The U.S. Army soldier charged with providing troves of government documents to WikiLeaks was found not guilty Tuesday of aiding the enemy, the top charge in his 21-count indictment that could have carried a life sentence, however, he was convicted of several lesser charges that can carry a 128-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors had to prove Army Pfc. Bradley Manning had “a general evil intent” and knew the classified material would be seen by the terrorist group Al Qaeda. Legal experts said an aiding-the- enemy conviction could set a precedent because Manning did not directly give the classified material to Al Qaeda.

The judge, Army Col. Denise Lind, deliberated for about 16 hours over three days before reaching her decision in the case.

Manning was convicted of five espionage counts, five theft charges, a computer fraud charge and other military infractions. The sentencing phase of his trial is scheduled to begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., and will likely go on for several weeks.

Legal Insurrection has a list of all counts and whether manning was guilty or not guilty.

Sentencing for Manning on his convictions of espionage will begin tomorrow at 9:30 AM.

Operation Cross Country: FBI Raid in 76 Cities Rescues 105 Missing Teens Forced into Prostitution and Sex Trafficking

Operation Cross Country … FBI raid in 76 cities across the United States rescues 105 missing teens as young as 13 forced into prostitution and sex trafficking.

Win one for the good guys. A massive nationwide law enforcement sweep targeting child sex-trafficking and the exploitation of teens has rescued 105 sexually exploited children and the arrest of more than 150 pimps and others. It is about time these vermin who pray of minors get what is coming to them. It is bad enough that adult prostitution exists, but the exploitation and child prostitution of underage boys and girls is beyond reprehensible. We cannot do enough to help these kids and stop sex trafficking in the United States. These parasites that were arrested should never see the light of day.

The coordinated action between multiple federal, state and local agencies was the largest such enforcement action to date, according to the FBI. Seventy-six cities took part, as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as part of the Bureau’s Innocence Lost National Initiative.

Authorities rescued 105 children who were forced into prostitution and arrested 150 pimps and others in a three-day law enforcement sweep in 76 American cities, the FBI said Monday. The victims, almost all girls, range in age from 13 to 17.

The largest numbers of children rescued were in San Francisco, Detroit, Milwaukee, Denver and New Orleans. The campaign, known as Operation Cross Country, was conducted under the FBI’s Innocence Lost initiative.

“Child prostitution remains a persistent threat to children across the country,” Ron Hosko, assistant director of the bureau’s criminal investigative division, told a press conference.

The FBI said the campaign has resulted in rescuing 2,700 children since 2003.

The investigations and convictions of 1,350 have led to life imprisonment for 10 pimps and the seizure of more than $3.1 million in assets.
