A body found in the Des Moines River on Friday evening is likely that of kidnapped 15-year-old girl who has been missing since she and another girl were abducted more than two weeks ago, state authorities said early Saturday morning. Authorities say they’re confident that the body a fisherman found Friday night in the Des Moines River near Boone is Kathlynn Shepard’s. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday. Gerard Meyers of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said Boone County dispatchers received a call from people fishing at 6:59 p.m. about a body in the river underneath the Kate Shelley High Bridge near Boone. “We believe it to be Kathlynn Shepard,” Meyers said at a news conference at the Boone Police Station just after midnight. He said the clothing was consistent with what Shepard was wearing when she was abducted, along with 12-year-old Dezi Hughes, while walking home from the school bus in Dayton in Webster County on May 20.

Dezi Hughes  escaped from the suspected kidnapper, a registered sex offender Michael Klunder. Hughes was found wearing zip ties and authorities found similar zip ties on the body located Friday night. Klunder, a registered sex offender, committed suicide hours after the abduction.

Bikinis Banned from Miss World Contest to Avoid Muslim Islamist Threats

Enough is enough, now they have gone too far. Banning the best part of Miss World because of Muslim Islamist threats?

Bikinis are being banned from Miss World pageant, which is being held this year in Indonesia, because … wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, radical Muslim Islamist threats. Good Grief! Just curious, what don’t these individuals bitch and moan about and threated to chop off people’s heads about? I mean honestly, who is sick and tired of cowtailing to this menaces? Seriously, a contest is not supposed to change its practices because of a country that it happened to be holding their event in. And if Miss World feels the need to so his because of fear of Muslim threats, here is an idea … STOP HOLDING THE PAGENT IN MUSLEM COUNTRIES!!!

When you give in to terrorism, you only embolden them.

Better watch the Miss World swimsuit competition from 2010 below, because you’re not seeing in in 2013

BIKINIS have been banned from this year’s Miss World contest – to ward off Islamic hardliners in Indonesia who threatened Lady Gaga.

The pageant is taking place in the Far East country for the first time and organizers are wary of upsetting Muslim fanatics.

In a bid to calm any tensions, the 137 women will ditch the traditional swimsuit round and instead wear more conservative outfits like sarongs.

The move comes after pop icon Lady Gaga was last year forced to scrap a gig in the world’s most populous Muslim country.

Valedictorian Roy Costner IV Rips Up Speech and Then Recites The Lord’s Prayer at Liberty High School in South Carolina

This is what leadership and character is about, standing up for one’s principles and beliefs, no matter what. There is hope for our future.

Roy Costner, the Liberty High School valedictorian, made a stand for the First Amendment, freedom of speech and freedom of religion and his religious beliefs and there was no government, school board, ACLU or anti-religious an atheist groups could do a damn thing about it. This is what leaders, character and heroes are made of. During his valedictorian speech at Liberty High School in South Carolina, 30 seconds into his faculty approved speech, Costner tore it up and ad-libbed it. Costner then began reciting the Lord’s Prayer, much to the shock of the school faculty and the applause from those in attendance. For all of you who think you have a right to have your 1st Amendment rights protected, by taking other’s away, you are wrong and clueless. And as for separation of Church and State, read the Constitution.

A special shout out to Roy Costner IV who dared stand up for his convictions and beliefs. In a time in which we are witness to adults in politics and government agency bureaucrats who have zero character, along comes this high school grad. He is our Scared Monkeys hero of the day.

AMEN BROTHER!!!

Watch the actual speech below from Valedictorian Roy Costner IV

Liberty High School valedictorian Roy Costner hadn’t been at the podium for more than 30 seconds when he tore up the speech he had gotten approved by the faculty and began reciting the Lord’s Prayer to thunderous applause.

Patrick Elliott with the Freedom From Religion Foundation says they have received complaints about the district in South Carolina in the past for having student-led prayers at school board meetings.

So they wrote to them and asked them to stop.

“Sometimes people think, ‘majority rules’ but that’s not really the case with a constitutional right. So students do have the right to attend school without the school promoting or endorsing religion even if you know a large amount of people in the community would hope that the school would do so,” Elliott said.

Judge Debra Nelson Considers Allowing Voice Experts in George Zimmerman – Trayvon Martin Murder Case … FBI Speech Scientist Says Current Technology Cannot Determine Voice

Circuit Judge Debra Nelson will be hearing testimony today as to whether or not to allow a voice expert to testify in the George Zimmerman -  Trayvon Marin murder trial. Zimmerman is charged with first degree murder of Martin. In question is whether voice experts will be allowed to testify as to whether the screams on the 911 tape the night of the altercation between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin are that of Zimmerman or Martin.  The hearing will resume again at 9 a.m. Friday, will be whether or not to allow the testimony of a state audio expert who says he heard Martin screaming and saying “I’m begging you” in the background of the same call.

The judge made rulings on other issues and heard other testy squabbling between attorneys. From going by the pre-trail hearings, this is going to be one ugly, ugly murder trial.

For a second day in a row, a Florida judge is weighing whether to allow certain voice experts to testify at the trial of a neighborhood watch volunteer charged in the fatal shooting of an unarmed teen.

Circuit Judge Debra Nelson is listening Friday to testimony from voice experts about whether witnesses with expertise in speech identification should be allowed to testify when George Zimmerman’s trial starts next week.

An FBI speech scientist, Dr. Hirotake Nakasone, a senior audio engineer, testified in court today that current technology cannot categorically determine whether a voice heard on a 911 tape screaming for help moments before Trayvon Martin was killed was that of Martin or George Zimmerman, the man accused of murdering him.

Hirotaka Nakasone testified that he dissected the 45-second sample and found only three seconds in which the screams were not at least partially obscured by other sounds.

That’s too little for a proper analysis, he said.

“It’s not really feasible and not possible,” he testified, saying he was “disturbed” that other scientists had made identifications anyway.

Some of those other scientists are scheduled to testify Friday at the continuation of a hearing that will determine whether Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson lets jurors hear anyone’s opinions about who made those cries for help.

Three audio experts have concluded that they either came from Trayvon, the unarmed 17-year-old who Zimmerman shot last year in Sanford, or ruled out Zimmerman.

In other rulings, George Zimmerman defense witnesses have been denied the request to testify confidentially and that they must do so publicly.

The trial is scheduled to begin June 10, 2013.
