Boston Marathon Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to be Tried in Civilian Court, Charged with Using Weapons of Mass Destruction Causing Death … Says His Brother Tamerlan was Driving Force Behind Terror Attacks
Suspect #2 Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the 19 year old who has been taken into custody in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings will not be charged as an enemy combatant. Instead as he lay in his hospital bed after suffering injuries after a shootout with police, Federal prosecutors announced terrorism charges against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The surviving suspect was charged with using a weapon of mass destruction and malicious destruction of property. This charge could bring him the death penalty. A grand jury will be convened where other charges will be filed against suspect #2.
The criminal complaint against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, filed in U.S. District Court in Boston, ended a debate over how one of the first successful terrorist attacks on the U.S. homeland since Sept. 11, 2001, should be handled. Some congressional Republicans had insisted that Tsarnaev be designated an “enemy combatant,’’ which would enable the government to charge him under the laws of war in a military commission or to hold him indefinitely.
White House press secretary Jay Carney rejected that approach on Monday, saying that the suspect cannot be tried in a military commission under federal law because he is a U.S. citizen. “We will prosecute this terrorist through our civilian system of justice,’’ Carney said at a White House news briefing.
Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will be tried in a civil court. Read the Unsealed Complaint and Affidavit – U.S. v Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at Legal Insurrection. As much as many wanted Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to be charged as an enemy combatant, under the laws, it really did make no sense. Like it or not, this dirt bag terrorist is a US citizen. Although I would say that they could have held him somewhat longer and interrogated him with out Mirandizing him under the public safety exception.
As reported at CNN, Boston bomb suspect says brother Tamerlan was brains behind attack. Wow, way to throw your terrorist brother under the bus. Then again, I guess that is appropriate as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev drove over his brother trying to escape from police and reportedly killing him as police had Tamerlan on the ground handcuffed. Authorities believe that the two brothers acted alone and had no outside terror help. They are classifying them as self-radicalized jihadists. Really, this from feds who did not act accordingly when they were informed by Russia that the older brother was a terrorist? Are we really supposed to believe that all the bombs made, the cool, calm and collective nature of how these two planted the bombs and their actions were not supported by a terror network? Really? Did Tamerlan have a job, how did he sustain his lifestyle? Where did the money come to buy the materials to make the bombs? It is truly amazing just how little the feds understand about how terror networks actually work.
Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has told investigators his older brother Tamerlan was the driving force behind last week’s attack and that no international terrorist groups were behind them, a U.S. government source said Monday.
Preliminary interviews with Tsarnaev indicate the two brothers fit the classification of self-radicalized jihadists, the source said. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, wounded and held in a Boston hospital, has said his brother — who was killed early Friday — wanted to defend Islam from attack, according to the source.
The government source cautioned that the interviews were preliminary, and that Tsarnaev’s account needs to be checked out and followed up on by investigators.
And a federal law enforcement official told CNN that while investigators have seen nothing yet to indicate the suspects were working with anyone else, a lot of work remains before they can say confidently that no others were involved. That official would not comment on any motive or specifics on what Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has communicated to officials.

Amazing, Senator Feinstein (D-CA) Says Watertown Citizens Don’t Need “Assault Weapons” During a Time When Killer Terrorists Roamed Their Town
Unbelievable, these liberal Senators who have their own protection tell you that you do not have the right to protect yourself.
Following the Boston Marathon bombings by Islamist terrorists, Senator Feinstein (D-CA) went on FOX News Sunday where she shamefully pushed once again for her failed assault weapons ban. As the city of Boston and surrounding towns were in lock down as two terrorist brothers roamed the streets with explosive devices and unregistered guns, millions of Boston area citizens were in fear as they who were told to stay inside during the door to door man hunt for the Islamist killers. When Chris Wallace asked whether the citizens should have had the right to protect themselves, Feinstein responded by saying … Watertown Citizens Don’t Need “Assault Weapons” .
Because she knows better than you America. How many people who were pinned down in their homes probably wish they had an assault-style weapon to defend themselves and their family? Shouldn’t that be “We the People’s” choice on how to defend ourselves and our right to bare arms and not a government who failed to act in the first place when they were first notified in 2011 by Russia?
“Some may have (wanted to have guns), yes. But if where you’re going is, “Do they need an assault weapon?” I don’t think so… We did away with machine guns because of how they’re used.”
Alleged ‘al-Qaeda-supported’ plot against Via Passenger Train from Toronto to New York Foiled … Two Individuals Arrested
EVIL TWARTED AGAIN, THIS TIME NORTH OF THE BORDER IN CANADA …
Two men have been arrested and are accused of conspiring to carry out an “al-Qaeda supported” attack targeting a Via passenger train in the Greater Toronto Area. The two would be terrorists are Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal, and Raed Jaser, 35, from Toronto. RCMP officials said the two accused were plotting to derail a Via passenger train. VIA is Canada’s equivalent of Amtrak and operates passenger rail services on track owned primarily by Canadian National Railway Co. According to a Reuters report, U.S. law enforcement and national security sources said the alleged plot targeted a rail line between Toronto and New York.
Police say they have arrested two men accused of conspiring to carry out an “al-Qaeda supported” attack targeting a Via passenger train in the Greater Toronto Area, following a cross-border investigation that involved Canadian and American law enforcement.
In a press conference that followed a report by CBC’s Greg Weston, police named the two accused as Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal, and Raed Jaser, 35, from Toronto. They have been charged with conspiracy to carry out a terrorist attack and “conspiring to murder persons unknown for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a terrorist group.”
RCMP officials said the two accused were plotting to derail a passenger train. Jennifer Strachan, chief superintendent of RCMP criminal operations in the province of Ontario, said the two suspects watched trains and railways in the Greater Toronto Area.
“We are alleging that these two individuals took steps and conducted activities to initiate a terrorist attack,” she told reporters.
Statement From RCMP On Canadian Terror Arrest:
Today, the RCMP arrested two individuals and charged them with conspiring to carry out a terrorist attack against a VIA passenger train. The accused have been charged under sections 248, 235 (1), 83.2, 83.18, 83.21 of the Criminal Code of Canada. As a result of extensive collaborative efforts, the RCMP was able to disrupt the threat early. While the RCMP believed that these individuals had the capacity and intent to carry out these criminal acts, there was no imminent threat to the general public, rail employees, train passengers or infrastructure.
The two accused, Chiheb ESSEGHAIER and Raed JASER, who live in the Montreal and Toronto area were conspiring to carry out a terrorist attack against a VIA passenger train. Charges include conspiring to carry out an attack against, and conspiring to murder persons unknown for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a terrorist group.
As Legal Insurrection reminds us of President Barack Obama’s false rhetoric … I guess it depends on what the meaning of “decimated” is. Where is the Obama propaganda media criticizing him for his “declaring victory” over ‘al-Qaeda, when its obvious nothing could be further from the truth.
Good grief, these friggin Islamist terrorist are like cockroaches.
