Neighbors and Classmates Say Crazed School Killer Adam Lanza Was Troubled & Shy … Older Brother Ryan Said Adam was Autistic … Deeply Disturbed

As everyone breaks down the mindset of school shooter Adam Lanza, could he have just been pure EVIL?

So what is the personality make up of a 20 year old that would wake up one day, kill his mother and then head off to an elementary school and murder in cold blood 20 children from the ages of 5 to 10 and six adults? It is being reported in the NY Post that Adam Lanza, the individual responsible for the mass murder yesterday in Newtown, CT at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, was a troubled and shy individual. Many people, whether they be neighbors or classmates, noticed that Adam had issues, was socially awkward and was struggling to be social. Adam’s brother, Ryan, who was first inaccurately said to be the shooter, told investigators that his brother was autistic.

Crazed kid-killer Adam Lanza was a troubled “genius” who was painfully awkward and shy.

“I know he had issues,” said Beth Israel, whose daughter, Alex, went to school with Lanza. “He was a really troubled kid. I think he had learning disabilities.”

Adam’s brother told investigators that the gunman was autistic, sources said. Israel described him to The Post as a sort of autistic savant, saying he was “very smart, but he had issues. He was a real genius.

“He was just a weird kid. He was a very quiet kid, a shy kid, maybe socially awkward,” Israel added.

Adam Lanza used multiple guns during the mass murder in Newtown , CT. Police found guns inside and outside of the school. The guns were registered to his mother, who Adam had killed earlier in the morning before he went on the school shooting rampage. Sadly, I have to ask the question how a child with such mental issues had any access to such guns?

Investigators said three guns were found – a Glock and a Sig Sauer, both pistols, inside the school, and a .223-caliber rifle in the back of a car.

A law enforcement official says that the weapons were registered to Lanza’s mother.

The official says that a fourth weapon was found outside the school and that investigators have been going to shooting ranges and gun stores to see if Lanza had frequented them.

But the question is, who does socially awkward, a learning disability or autistic savant turn into a cold blooded killer capable of such a heinous crime and the unspeakable act of killing young children? Such actions require such a black heart and soul that it is incomprehensible for any of us to understand. So, was he just pure evil without a soul?

UPDATE I: If Adam Lanza was such a “deeply disturbed kid,” had major issues, was “subject to outbursts” and was a  was a “ticking time bomb”... then some one needs to explain to me how he had any access and even knew that his mother was in the possession of registered guns? As stated at The Dana Show, this is not a problem of gun control, its one of mental illness. Lanza, like many other mass shooters  were disturbed young men that no law could deter from their intended destruction. Why were the warning signs ignored?

He was dark and disturbed, a deeply troubled boy from a wealthy family who unnerved his neighbors and classmates.

Mass murderer Adam Lanza, 20, was a ticking time bomb, people who knew him told the Daily News.

“This was a deeply disturbed kid,” a family insider told the Daily News. “He certainly had major issues. He was subject to outbursts from what I recall.”

Lanza, who friends and officials said suffered from Asperger’s syndrome or a personality disorder, had a tortured mind.

UPDATE II: It is now being confirmed that Nancy Lanza, the murdered mother of shooter Adam Lanza, was not affiliated with Sandy Hook Elementary School.  Sorry, but this is not a gun control issue as Adam Lanza did not purchase these guns, they were registered to his mother. However, I will say that this is more of an issue of dealing with mental illness in individuals and those who own guns to keep them away from the criminally insane of those who like to go to elementary schools and shoot children.

My heart breaks for the parents of these kids, the friends and other relatives. How do you move on from this???

Sadly it didn’t take but 30 minutes for people to bring up the arguement of gun control, as if that would prevent someone bent on criminal activity from carrying it out. Sadly, there was a similiar incident in China yesterday where the weapon of choice was a knife.

Perhaps along with the discussion of gun control we should review what we feed our minds that creates a culture of violence. TV and movies are saturated with murder, and a large number of video games are violent allowing perps to practice shooting other people. And before someone starts ranting about how many people play these games and don’t commit crimes consider this: perhaps some people have a mind that is weak in this area just like some people have a weakness for other addictions. That isn’t an attempt to excuse them, they are evil because they give in to such temptations. But knowing there are people like that out there perhaps we should review what are we as a society are feeding their minds? Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

SM: Agreed. I am in the process of writing a post on this incident and others and the knee-jerk reaction for those with an anti-gun agenda to exploit this terrible story for their own self-serving reasons. There is no easy solution, blaming guns is just weak and serves our children of America no purpose. Pot legal, but ban guns, oh yea, that makes all the sense.

My heart and prayers go out to the victims and the families, friends and loved ones of the victims.

Gun control did not prevent yesterday’s tragedy outside of an elementary school in China.

Man slashes 22 children near China school
      December 14, 2012

BEIJING — A man with a knife slashed 22 children and one adult outside an elementary school in Henan province Friday morning, China’s worst such incident in more than a year.

The attack was reminiscent of a spate of knife attacks on schoolchildren that took place across China in 2010. …

In another incident, a 25-year-old man was arrested Thursday night in Beijing after a series of incidents in which young women were slashed on the subway with a box cutter.

In 2010, nearly 20 children were killed and 50 wounded in a string of copycat incidents around central China. China has strict gun control laws, so knives are the weapon of choice in violent crimes.

Let please not refer to Adam Lanza as a child. He was twenty years old.

He was a damaged human that should have been placed in a supervised facility and not allowed to be in normal society.

If he was living with his mother, and she failed to secure her guns, then she was an enabler who paid the price for being careless. It is so sad that others including innocent children were made to pay for her mistake.

You Americans and your guns. It is preposterous! Do you think a country like England where there is extreme gun-control ever has anything like this happen? It’s all because of the easy access to the guns. Killing has become too easy for people. And then you Cite the case that happened in China. Yes there are crazy people, but that guy only had access to a knife and he slashed the people. Imagine what he would have done with a gun!

Since NBC sportscaster Bob Costas gave us an anti-gun lecture two weeks ago during Sunday Night Football, we’ve heard a lot from progressives like Juan Williams, Bob Beckel and anti-gun advocacy groups about how countries in Europe with strict gun control laws don’t have problems with gun crime. We’ve also heard the reason the United States has a “gun crime problem” is because we allow citizens to own handguns however, the numbers on violent crime committed using a gun tell a different story.

New data out from the UK, where guns are banned, shows gun crime has soared by 35 percent.

I bet you the part of this tragedy that bothers many people is that Adam Lanza resorted to suicide and because he’s deceased it appears he won’t answer to anyone (except God I supposed) so therefore had he not committed suicide and once police captured him they would have thrown his so called sorry butt in jail. That’s my point if Adam was still alive and captured he would be in jail right now and that might have been some consolation to his victims’ families and friends.

Obviously … not one of those 22 children or the unarmed caregiver in China who was slashed and miraculously not killed was your loved one.

Maybe all 22 children would not have been slashed if the caregiver had a gun in his/her possession. Maybe a gun in the possession of the adult entrusted with the safety of these children would have deterred the entire incident. Maybe the attacker would have thought of the immediate consequences regarding his well-bing prior to committing this heinous act. It is called “Peace through Strength”.

As with the Virginia Tech Massacre … 49 unarmed students who were killed or wounded … 49 unarmed students who dutifully conformed to the University’s “no gun” policy were sitting ducks for Seung-Hui Cho on Apri 27, 2007. Think about it. Would Cho have planned this attack IF he thought for one minute that ammunition from students’ concealed guns would have taken him down prior to him firing the first shot in that classroom. Again … peace through strength.

Logic dictates if Adam Lanza had thought for one minute that an armed guard or an armed principal or armed teachers were prepared to use lethal force to defend students … maybe 22 little boys and girls would be anticipating a visit from Santa at this very moment. Again … peace through stength.
