Pearl Harbor Day 2012 … A Date That Will Forever Live in Infamy

Pearl Harbor Day 2012 … A Date That Will forever Live in Infamy.

At 7:53 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 1941, the first assault wave of Japanese fighter planes attacked the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, taking the Americans completely by surprise.

The first wave targeted airfields and battleships. The second wave targeted other ships and shipyard facilities. The air raid lasted until 9:45 a.m. Eight battleships were damaged, with five sunk. Three light cruisers, three destroyers and three smaller vessels were lost along with 188 aircraft. The Japanese lost 27 planes and five midget submarines which attempted to penetrate the inner harbor and launch torpedoes. [...]

Remember America, those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat it. Let the memories of Pearl Harbor serve as a reminder to all Americans that there has always been evil in the world looking to harm America.  This is not a  new concept and can never be more clear than present day. For those that say we have the enemy on the run or that we are free from harm or terrorism, I would say that kind of mentality existed prior to December 7, 1941 and September 11, 2001.

Let this day, December 7, 1941 also be a reminder for all to take the time, a moment of silence and say a prayer for all those lost their lives at Pearl Harbor. God bless those who gave their lives on that fateful day and the courage, heroism and determination of our “Great erst Generation” who fought back against evil and imperialism to make us safe and preserve our way of life.

DON’T EVER FORGET.
