Americans Might Want to Ask Themselves, Are you safer now than you were four years ago?

Very interesting and must read article in the Washington Post where Eliot Cohen, a distinguished military historian and scholar of civilian-military relations, and foreign policy adviser to Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney asks the important Ronald Reagan slightly modified question, Are you safer now than you were four years ago?

Has President Obama been a competent steward of U.S. national security?

Set aside the opening follies of this administration, such as the cringe-inducing “reset” button given to Russia’s foreign minister that yielded no cooperation but managed to produce anti-American venom from Vladimir Putin and the harassment of our ambassador to Moscow by thugs in Putin’s youth movement.

Set aside the hypocrisy of the Obama team’s scorn at former governor Mitt Romney’s lack of foreign policy experience, given that its own candidate, during his two years in the Senate prior to his presidential campaign, managed to produce one large goof: contemptuous certainty that the surge of U.S. troops to Iraq in 2007 would fail (VIDEO).

Set aside even the unseemliness of the president blaming America’s failures abroad on the George W. Bush administration while claiming credit for operations whose foundations were laid during the Bush presidency.

Disregard all this, and the answer remains no.

Yes, Obama ordered the killing of Osama bin Laden. So would any president who had him in American gun sights — imagine the furor if any commander in chief were to refrain from giving that order. But has Obama ended our war with Islamist extremists?

Read the entire article, quite enlightening and shows Obama for what he really is when it comes to foreign policy, a novice at best. Barack Obama’s greatest foreign policy accomplishments are those that he “inherited” from GWB. Its safe to say that Obama just adopted W’s drone attacks. The reason why BO does more is because he does not have the MSM claiming that innocent women and children are killed in missile attacks like W was at every strike. Some how the MSM never mentions that now. What a coincidence. Also, the tips that began the get Bin Laden efforts were started under W and dare I say, waterboarding.

The Cowboy and Darth Vadar kept us safe that’s for sure. As for Osama Bin Laden, I have never been convinced that he was the guy who was killed. The public saw that Mussolini was dead. There was always a little controversy about Adolph Hitler actually being dead. The Russians did some tests to confirm it was him. Saddam Hussein, Khadafi, we saw them. All over the world people want to make sure that their enemy is really dead. But Obama plays by his own rules. I believe that the Seals think they killed Bin Laden.

The Seal says osama was already dead. Hence, no body as evidence. It was all a show to make obama look good. Didn’t work in my opinion. A lowlife democrat will lie, cheat , Steal, an possibly murder to get their way.

Paula … your thoughts reflect mine regarding Osama Bin Laden. However … I have been known on more than one occassion to suspect a conspiracy when there was none. Think about it. Did man REALLY walk on the moon? LOL

While Obama has been busy coddling our enemies, he has spat on loyal friends and enemies such as Israel. Obama recently let it be known through surrogates that if Israel decides to deal with the existential threat that is a nuclear-armed Iran, it’s on its own.

Obama, who prefers posturing and meaningless sanctions, has repeatedly snubbed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who knows Obama has Israel’s back the way Brutus had Caesar’s.

On the 11th anniversary of 9/11, the Obama White House snubbed a requested meeting by Netanyahu, accepted an invitation from the more important David Letterman and apologized to Islamists upset over a film that mocks Islam and Mohammed — something “artists” in America do to Christianity with our tax dollars on a fairly regular basis.

Typically, the administration’s first response was not directed at the apology-spawned attacks that left one U.S. ambassador and two U.S. Marines dead. Rather, it took umbrage with the GOP presidential candidate’s justified condemnation of the embassy apology.

“I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi,” Romney said in a spot-on response. “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

“We are shocked that, at a time when the United States of America is confronting the tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya, Gov. Romney would choose to launch a political attack,” Obama campaign press secretary Ben LaBolt said in a response as disgraceful as the initial apology.

Save your shock and disapproval for the murderers of American ambassadors and Marines.

The attacks in Libya and Egypt are more evidence that Obama’s foreign policy of appeasement and apology leaves us with friends that don’t trust or respect us and enemies that do not fear us. Obama has led from behind on Libya, Syria and Iran. Rather than an “Arab Spring,” we face a region dominated by Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Muslim Brotherhood, and governed by Shariah law — while Iran patiently builds its Islamic nuclear bomb.

Hell No, I don’t feel safer and neither should America !

      This is scary stuff.

Hell No, I sure don’t feel ANY safer at all. In fact, I would say our national security has continually been compromised.

      This is frightening!

Our National Security has been SEVERLY jeapordized with Obama in the White House, and HELL NO, I for one, don’t feel safer AT ALL.

Frightening, really when you think about it. And the MSM is in the tank for our President- so what do we do America???

The answer is obvious but can American’s see through the Man in the Empty Suit?

When Iran “wipes Israel off the map” … the United States is next. Why part of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s 2008 warning did President Bush not comprehend? What part ofIranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s 2008 warning does Barack Obama not comprehend.

Ahmadinejad Calls U.S. ‘Satanic,’ Israel ‘About to Die’
      Monday, June 02, 2008

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad predicted that Muslims would uproot “satanic powers” and reaffirmed his prediction that the Jewish state will soon be wiped off the map, the Agence France-Presse news agency reported Monday.

“I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene,” Ahmadinejad said.

“Today, the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started,” the hard-line president said.

The White House immediately DISMISSED Ahmadinejad’s latest attack on Israel and accused him of “total disregard” for the Iranian people’s needs and beliefs.

super dave says “The Seal says osama was already dead. Hence, no body as evidence” which make NO sense.
Tamikosmom says “When Iran “wipes Israel off the map” … the United States is next”" are they going to do all that with the one bomb no one says they have? How will they deliver this “wipe out” to the US?

If ANYONE threatened my home and the lives of my loved ones … I would immediately take some type of defensive action. I would not DISMISS the threat. To do so would be a betrayal to those who God has entrusted to me to protect.

Tamikosmom, You do know WE have be attacked by Israel before:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Liberty_incident

Both the Israeli and U.S. governments conducted inquiries and issued reports that concluded the attack was a mistake due to Israeli confusion about the identity of the USS Liberty,[5] though others, including all of the ship’s survivors that could be located four decades later, have rejected these conclusions and maintain that the attack was deliberate

I would immediately take some type of defensive action …. lets us all know when those of yours are in uniform and we’ll get the party started
