Mitt Romney Doubles Down and Slams Barack Obama’s Attack on Business Owners, Says “The Context is Worse Than the Quote”

Welcome to Barack Obama’s, “I voted for it before I voted against it”political train wreck.

Mitt Romney appeared in an interview with Larry Kudlow on the Kudlow Report las night. When asked about Barack Obama’s now infamous quote, “If you’ve got a business … you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,”  Mitt Romney stated,  I found the full Obama speech more disconcerting that the actual line  ... “the context is worse than the quote”.  The foolish comment by Obama will turn out to be the President’s “I voted for it before I voted against it” mishap ala John Kerry fame and turn the tide of voter perception of what Barack Obama is really all about.

KUDLOW: Why do you think President Obama, what did he mean, if you’ve got a business, you didn’t build it, someone else made that happen? He claims it’s being taken out of context. What do you think it means? Do you think this is Obama anti-business, anti-entrepreneur? Or do you think maybe he has been treated unfairly?

Gov. ROMNEY: Well, just read the whole speech. I found the speech even more disconcerting than just that particular line. The context is worse than the quote. The context, he says, you know, you think you’ve been successful because you’re smart, but he says a lot of people are smart. You think you’ve been successful because you work hard, a lot of people work hard. This is an ideology which says hey, we’re all the same here, we ought to take from all and give to one another and that achievement, individual initiative and risk-taking and success are not to be rewarded as they have in the past. It’s a very strange and in some respects foreign to the American experience type of philosophy. We have always been a nation that has celebrated success of various kinds. The kid that gets the honor roll, the individual worker that gets a promotion, the person that gets a better job. And in fact, the person that builds a business. And by the way, if you have a business and you started it, you did build it. And you deserve credit for that. It was not built for you by government. And by the way, we pay for government. Government doesn’t come free. The people who begin enterprises, the people who work in enterprises, they’re the ones paying for government. So his whole philosophy is an upside-down philosophy that does not comport with the American experience. And if we want to get people working again–and that’s my priority–if we want to get people working again, we have to celebrate success and achievement and not demonize it and denigrate the people who have worked hard, who are smart, who have made the kinds of investments to build a brighter future.

KUDLOW: But…

Gov. ROMNEY: Whether this is by succeeding in their job or starting a new enterprise.

KUDLOW: Do you think that–do you think that President Obama has demonized you and your experiences at Bain Capital? And do you–are you satisfied with your response, you know, to the timing when you left Bain Capital or investments in overseas operations and things of that nature? Do you think you have more work to do on your Bain Capital story?

Gov. ROMNEY: Look, I’m very proud of my experience at Bain Capital. I hope people understand that I was investing other people’s money for them and was compensated if we were highly successful. And the returns came to groups that included charities and college endowments. Those are the people who received the greatest rewards from our successes. We were also able–I saw a report by the current partners of Bain Capital over the history of the firm, which I helped start, they made some 350 investments, 80 percent of which grew. That’s the kind of record which I’m pretty proud of.

The most astute comment during Romney’s slamming of Barack Obama is as Doug Ross states, “its we who pay for the government”.   Interestingly enough, even after all the negative Obama campaign ads against Romney and Bain Capital, by a 63% to 29% margin Americans prefer Romney over Obama to handle the US economy and say Mit Romney’s background in business, including his time at the private equity firm Bain Capital, makes Romney capable of making good decisions, not bad ones, in dealing with the economy.

Also, according to a recent Rasmussen poll, 72% of Americans believe that small business owners are primarily responsible for their own success.

   and Mitt is absolutely right. But then we knew that already. We knew what Owe meant because we’ve seen and heard him in action. We already know he wants to “spread the wealth”. We know he believes “there’s a time when an individual has just made too much”. We know he encourages usage of the food stamp program by working with the President of Mexico and running ads in Spanish so illegals won’t miss out on the American freebies. We’ve seen Owe demonize Wall Street, tell the coal business he was going to shut them down and implemented more regulations against business than you could shake a stick at. We’ve even seen Owe stick it to American employers with requirements that they not only offer employees health insurance but expensive health insurance that HE dictates. We know American workers also got the shaft since they won’t be able to keep their health plans and doctors.

   But then, what do you expect from the Liar-in-Chief?

   Did Mitt apply for tax amnesty for his Swiss bank account? We may never know! Did he know black mormons went to to Vietnam instead of a missionary trip to France because they have the mark of Cain and could not become priests like Willard. Maybe THATS WHY he pulled over in his car and cried when heard the news the the “prophet” had his “revelation” in 1987. This guy is so weird it’s UNBELEIVABLE he is the “chosen” one.

   SM: And Barack Obama spent 20 years in a Rev, Wright church and never heard anything racist, evil or un-American. How come you do not care about Obama’s corruption like that Rezco home in Chi-town? Who does not find it comical that Obama got a pass on vetting, yet those who did now want to do just the opposite to Romney? No hypocrisy here.

   I’ll take it for granted that if Hillary’s dirt diggers would found any corruption or some neo-con genius would have found it. enough said bout that.
   The difference between Obama and Romney is that Romney was/is a church official, a Bishop no less, who met with his ward / stake members personally in his office, collected their 10% tith in cash and delivered it it the temple in Salt Lake. Bishop Romney counseled his flock in religious matters. Obama sat respectfully in a pew like some us do on Sunday and listened to his pastor. Another difference is Rev. Wright never ex-commutated anyone for failure to tith. Pay up or go to hell, not my kind of salvation!

   SM: Actually the difference between Romney and Obama is that Obama is a socialist. Let’s not go off on a tangent as to what this post is about, Nice try.

   Obama is a socialist and his comments about ‘You didn’t build it” will haunt him until November 2012. Try as he might to back track, this is Obama’s “I voted for it before I voted against it” gaffe.
