The United States of Poverty: Thanks to Barack Obama & Obamanomics, US Poverty on Track to Rise to Highest Since 1960′s

The United States of Poverty … How’s the “Hopey, Changey” thing working out for ya America?

Welcome to an Obamanation and thanks to Obamanomics the United States poverty rate is on track to reach its highest level since the 19060′s. According to the US census, 46 million men woman and children live in poverty, that’s 1 in 6 Americans. Simply shameful.  How do we have a country and a President who would rather golf, vacation and fund raise rather than meet with his Jobs Council and make every effort to help Americans with jobs? Before anyone decides to question that fact, PolitiFact rates it as a fact: Golf, fundraisers for President Barack Obama, while his jobs council never met

The Associated Press surveyed more than a dozen economists, think tanks and academics, both nonpartisan and those with known liberal or conservative leanings, and found a broad consensus: The official poverty rate will rise from 15.1 percent in 2010, climbing as high as 15.7 percent. Several predicted a more modest gain, but even a 0.1 percentage point increase would put poverty at the highest level since 1965.

Poverty is spreading at record levels across many groups, from underemployed workers and suburban families to the poorest poor. More discouraged workers are giving up on the job market, leaving them vulnerable as unemployment aid begins to run out. Suburbs are seeing increases in poverty, including in such political battlegrounds as Colorado, Florida and Nevada, where voters are coping with a new norm of living hand to mouth.

This president has destroyed America. The unemployment rate is at 8.2%, the real unemployment rate is 15%, record number of Americans on Food Stamps and more Americans last month went on disability than jobs created.

Michael Moriarty’s Musings: The Only Antidote to American “Marxmanship” is Vice-President Allen West
      Jul 13, 2012

While watching the prelude to the 2012 American election from Canada, I realized that Barack Hussein Obama has become the Ruling Monarch of American “Marxmanship”. ….

Who should be Vice-President in 2012?

      Allen West.

No one, including the late President Ronald Reagan, has stated the case for Conservative America more eloquently, with more verbal firepower, more brilliantly reasoned clarity or from a more electrically persuasive platform or with a more tenaciously American soul than has Allen West. …

Allen West will cut like a virtual chain-saw through the lies, the illusions and delusions, the Marxist-speak, the Progressive veneer of good intentions, the NAACP love affair with Obamacare. He can do everything that Presidential candidate Mitt Romney will not be able to do.

The return of the Republican Party to the White House should be a landslide return!

Tragically, in this America I see now from Canada, that will not be possible.

The Welfare State proves too irresistible for American women and American minorities to resist.

Only Allen West can help Mitt Romney come even close to the possible goal of an undeniable victory.

The official poverty measure counts only monetary income. It considers antipoverty programs such as food stamps, housing assistance, the Earned Income Tax Credit, Medicaid and school lunches, among others, “in-kind benefits” – and hence not income. So, despite everything these programs do to relieve poverty, they aren’t counted as income when Washington measures the poverty rate.
Romney won’t say what he would cut but I can guess.

House GOP questions legal grounds for changes to welfare work requirements
      Published July 23, 2012

House Republicans said Monday they were “disappointed” with the Obama administration’s plan to waive mandatory work requirements for welfare and questioned the legal grounds being used to make such changes.

“We are disappointed to see that the administration through this action and others seems intent not on helping to get Americans back to work,” said the letter signed by 76 House Republicans.

The one-page letter to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius also states the administration is instead intent upon increasing Americans’ reliance on welfare and other government programs.

There are plenty of DMV road construction jobs in Minnesota right now. (Obama and Dayton are almost one in the same.)

More private sector jobs please!!! Or elect a president who will free up the private sector employers to hire more help.

From a political perspective it doesn’t happen often but … I disagree with your take Red.

Along with my son’s American inlaws … it is my heartfelt prayer that in November when Barack Obama has been declared history by the electorate … President Mitt Romney and his running mate “Allen West” … as a team … will redirect America back onto the “right” path of exceptionism.

Tea Party Floats Allen West as Veep Possibility
      Thursday, July 12, 2012

Some high-profile Tea Party conservatives have suggested that Mitt Romney make Florida Rep. Allen West his vice presidential nominee.

According to West’s communications director, if Romney asked him to be his running mate, he would go home, talk with his wife and daughters, and pray before making a decision.

West’s office said the Romney camp has not reached out to him yet.

Red … it is the above statement I have a problem with. My comment explained why.

However … if Barack Obama is afforded another four years at the helm ….

Anyways … do you think there is a possibility that Mitt Romney will choose Allen West as his running mate. Yes? No? Why not.

Romney Defends Conservative Values, Says Obama Has ‘Secular Agenda’

Romney, 64, even invoked his pro-life position during an answer to a question about who might fill the vice presidential slot if he becomes the nominee.

“My vice presidential nominee will be pro-life,” he said. “If I am fortunate to become the nominee, I will also choose someone who is conservative to the core, who understands what it takes to make America strong again, and who is unquestionably an individual who can lead the nation if something were to happen to me.”
