There is evidence beginning to surface that this shooter was having mental trouble over a period of years. He was responsible for his deed and no other. He was the one that armed himself and made the plan to go out with a big bang.
The sad thing is that all the people did was run and try to hide. This means that our society has been taught to not attack someone who is trying to kill them.
Three out of the four plane loads of passengers on the 911 flights did the same thing. The fourth made a decision to put a stop to the highjackers even at the cost of their own life.
