Barack Obama, Vive la France … Obama Campaign to Celebrate 4th of July in Paris

Does there seem something just unseemly about this?

VIVE LA FRANCE … Nothing says July 4th, American Independence Day like a fundraiser in Paris. Then again, you are not Barack Obama. For the Obama campaign that has had more fundraisers than any President ever, whats a trip to “Gai Paree”. Although Obama will be in the USA during this fundraiser, he is not that ignorant to attend such an event on the 4ht, it just does not smell right.  However,  I guess it beats Obama charging you $1000 a plate for a hot dog, hamburg and potato salad at a 4th of July picnic.  Or Obama begging for cash saying that he will cook burgers for cash.

Will grill steaks for donations …

Apparently tiring of US soil as a source of campaign dollars, the Obama campaign is headed overseas — with its celebrity friends in tow. The European Obama campaign starts next week in Paris on July 4 with a reception organized by various fundraising heavy-hitters. Independence Day fundraisers in Paris – now that’s a flag-waving campaign.

The Obama campaign will host events in Geneva, Switzerland in August as part of their “European outreach effort.” George Clooney will headline a fundraiser there, with 150 tickets going for $20,000 per piece. There’s even more to the bargain: if you go as a couple, the second ticket is half-off!

Maybe the Obama campaign can actually attract crowds in France where Obama still polls well Internationally, see that France  just voted socialist.

From the Hollywood Reporter, In time for summer break, Obama’s campaign extends its fundraising efforts with the Oscar-winning actor in Switzerland and expats in France. The Obama campaign says let them eat cake, take a look at the cost of the tickets.

George Clooney has signed on for another special guest appearance as the Barack Obama re-election campaign takes its summer fundraising tour across the Atlantic in pursuit of Euro-cash.

Charles Adams, co-president of the campaign’s European outreach effort, told the newspaper Tribune de Geneve that Clooney will address a crowd of about 150 at an evening reception, which will be followed by a more intimate — and expensive — dinner at which the star will be the guest of honor. Tickets for the latter event will go for $20,000 for singles and $30,000 for couples.

The American taxpayer is paying for this trip to raise election funds out of the country. Does this mean he is running for president of the world?

This should be illegal and aught to be an impeachable offense.

    2. Fred Flint on July 1st, 2012 11:20 am

Just curious, but are you also upset about the Romney fundraisers in Europe? He has another one scheduled for July in London for $25,000-$75,000 per plate (and, unlike Obama, Romney will be attending in person).

Nope, I guess you missed the point of it being on July 4th Independence Day. Maybe you should read the post before you comment.

      Fred Flintstone

Wake up and smell the Coffee! Barack Obama just had a fundraiser here in Boston for $40,000 per plate.

Meanwhile, his pal Deval “Cadillac” Patrick is facing the highest inflation and unemployment numbers this State has had since the 1970′s. Gas here is still over $3.50 per gallon, and our MEDICAL COSTS, are some of the absolute highest in the Country.

So, thanks to the Obamamessiah in Office, we shall see even more increases in this State which is known for some of the best Medical Facilties in the World. Repeat WORLD.

The average Middle Class Income family can barely afford to pay their mortgages here in the Baystate, yet you expect us to vote for Obama A SOCIALIST in Democratic Clothing in November?

Newsflash-Mitt Romney was Governor here and he not only did a good job, he was well liked.

Needless to say, Mitt Romney has my vote in November for one and I am gladly donating to his campaign since I believe if anyone can help turn this Country around and at a minimum, stimulate out economy and create jobs it will be Mitt Romney and not the Moron in office now.

So, if your complaint is with the July 4 date, what’s the objection to the Geneva fundraiser? The simple fact is that both candidates do this sort of thing, but web sites like this one never let simple facts stand in the way of a good Obama-bashing opportunity.
SM: You betcha, if you want Obama pom-poms and cheering you can always go to any of the liberal MSM. When a President lies like this to “we the people” some one need to keep on him. I think you dost protest too much. Sorry, but any president who campaigns more than he leads deserves to be ridiculed and put in his place.

I guess it was too hot in our Nations capitol for golfing this weekend. Maybe Obama played Wii golf.

    6. Obama Must Go on July 1st, 2012 6:39 pm

Fred are you serious. Obama is getting so desparate for donations he is going to raffle off his birth certificate pretty soon. Or maybe his Harvard grades.

The latest us Obama trying to fund raise off the heat. WOW, talk about being out of touch of all the people that are suffering from this terrible heat wave.

      Way to go Barry O.

I would love to see a legitimate source for the Obama in Paris for Independence Day claim…

    8. Scared Monkeys on July 1st, 2012 10:59 pm

No one said Obama was going to be in Paris. The Obama campaign fundraiser is in Paris on July 4th. Obama is supposed to be at Camp David. Even Obama is not brash enough to do a fund raiser on American Independence Day.

    9. Rusty Bridges on July 2nd, 2012 6:48 am

For what it’s worth, most French are wondering what the heck we were thinking last election.

    10. Fred Flint on July 3rd, 2012 5:45 am

If you’re interested, Romney’s upcoming London fundraiser is scheduled to be hosted by Bob Diamond, who was forced to resign yesterday as head of Barclay’s Bank in the wake of an interest-rate manipulation scandal. But, by all means, let’s just ignore the facts and instead make fun of Obama for having a European fundraiser hosted by an actor.

    11. Bob on July 3rd, 2012 9:09 pm

Har, this has already been exposed as pure fiction.

SM: You know what is not pure fiction, something more important like Barack Obama lying to the American people about Obamacare and saying it was “absolutely not a tax”. Then sending his Solicitor General to the Supreme Court to argue it was a tax, then when the SCOTUS ruled Obamacare Constitutional as a tax, Obama and his minions scream its not a tax.

      How about that truth?

BTW, Bob … or should I say Fred F, you don’t need to change your name, we know who you are.

    12. God of Biscuits on July 4th, 2012 12:45 am

It’s already july 5 there, Monkey.

And YES, LOTS of people originally said Obama himself was going to be in France, including Karl Rove.

But people like you are awfully good at revisionist history.

    13. Scared Monkeys on July 4th, 2012 7:22 am

Revisionist history? Sorry you might need to reread, we stated that there would be an Obama fundraiser in Paris, Barack was not going to attend, he was to be in Camp David for the week. Even Obama is not ignorant enough to be in France on July 4th.

    14. labman57 on July 4th, 2012 8:39 pm

Right wingers grasp at straws, come up with stale air. First the conservative blogosphere falsely spreads a rumor that Obama was spending the 4th in Paris, and then when that was proved to be fallacious and an example of poor investigative reporting, these same mental midgets wipe the egg from their faces and immediately throw more crap at the wall. Alas, none of it sticks.

To hear these tea party wannabe patriots speak, one would think that France was an arch-enemy of the U.S. — perhaps we should invade them and impose our economic system upon them.

Chutzpah — conservative pundits, strategists, and politicians applauding the Citizens United rulings by the SCOTUS … while simultaneously condemning the POTUS for spending so much time and effort fundraising from his base of generally less affluent supporters.

    15. Scared Monkeys on July 4th, 2012 9:13 pm

LOL, because the LEFT wing blogopshere and the MSM does not lie thru their teeth on a daily basis.

All of you on the LEFT are praising Roberts as the greatest thing since sliced bread, I cant wait until he rules against something that you are for. You will try and burn him in effigy when that occurs.

As for lies … hell, you on the LEFTY have the biggest lying sack of garbage going. Who needs to make a blogosphere reference when you have Obama, “THE LYING KING”.

Yea, trying getting around that whopping lie. All others pale in comparison you pathetic fools on the LEFT.

    16. Jim on July 4th, 2012 9:55 pm

[edit, mere insults are not comments deleted] … a picture saying he’ll grill for donations is all your readers need to continue the fomenting. No, they don’t get all their news from you. They also had their views distorted by Karl Rove and FOX, etc. “Scared Monkeys on July 1st, 2012 10:59 pm
No one said Obama was going to be in Paris.” You’re the pathetic fool, and you’ve got an audience of peers. I’ll know better than to be part of it again.
SM: Well you do that then abnd like I have previously said coming off this Obamacare being argued in the SCOTUS as a tax as he lied to the American people that it was not … THERE IS NO BIGGER LIAR THAN BARACK OBAMA.

The LEFT should be more concerned with the 15 state battle ground polls that had Romney significantly ahead of Obama. Is that why you folks seem to have lost their minds?

    17. Hazelidchickie on July 4th, 2012 10:09 pm

Y is anyone surprised he is doing this? But just think he wants to tax the rich, they are the only ones who give this much or is able to buy a ticket for that much! You dont see poor people doing that do you? He has to go!!!

    18. NGBoston on July 5th, 2012 3:27 pm

      #10-Fred Flint

The bottom line here is once again, you Bleeding Heart Liberals are all alike.

You refuse to face any of the facts about Barack Hussien Obama, and like his minions, are all about placing blame on the GOP for every issue under the Sun.

How many Politicians in office are actually qualified and experienced enough to lead this Country out of the mess we are in? Instead of being so tied to your party lines—can you name any? A few? Just one?

All I can say to you, Fred, Bob or whoever you are—it’s really time for you to put down the Barry Soetero Crack Pipe you have been smoking for 4 long years.

You are completely DELUSIONAL, if you believe that Obama has done anything for our Country but put us further in debt.

Inflation is at an all time high, and now you are going to trying and convince us that we should approve of Government Mandated Health Care?

We all said here, it will do nothing but increase our Costs, lessen our Services and more importantly the quality of our HealthCare. It is nothing but a Tax, and Obama lied to us, AGAIN.

He is a liar, he is not experienced in Foriegn Affairs, and he is a Socialist. Period.

If you want to vote for the SOCIALIST to remain in office, you go right ahead.

Stop drinking the KoolAide, and stop trying to tell us what to do with our votes because they are not going to this Man. And we thought Carter sucked? Obama sucks even worse if that is at all possible.

    19. Fred Flint on July 6th, 2012 12:35 pm

Uh, NGBoston, what does any of that have to do with fundraisers in Europe? I’m just pointing out the petty hypocrisy of criticizing Obama for a practice that he and Romney both engage in. (And, by the way, your claim that inflation is at an all-time high is laughably absurd.)

    20. NG Boston on July 7th, 2012 8:52 am

#19-Fred. Petty hypocrisy aside, it’s Politics as usual as far as I’m concerned.

Just to keep it simple, I will agree with you that both Obama and Romney engage in the same practice as far as Fundraisers go.

Inflation is still high, and you can go ahead and laugh all you want.

Have you ever even read Obama’s Book- Dreams of My Father? One thing is clear to me, your Boy Barry subscribes to many Marxist/Socialist ideologies.

Fundraising issue aside- can you truly and with a clear conscience say that Obama has proven himself as capable for the last four years in Office?

I’m willing to listen to your rebuttal,,,,but as you already know, IMO, the Obama Presidency has been one of the worst in my lifetime, anyway!

    21. PS on August 17th, 2012 11:24 am

Get over it. No candidate is perfect (or even acceptable) but we have to ma a decision. Pick one (after getting the facts as best as possible given the mis and disinformation and lies that abound).

First, both candidates are looking overseas. Interesting to note that doing a search on overseas funding efforts (“US political overseas fundraising”) brings up titles naming both parties or Romney … Obama is missing in the headlines, although Clooney show up a lot in the headers)

Looking at the articles, it is (reporte) clearly that the fundraising efforts are directed at US citizens living abroad. It is also clear that it is illegal to take campaign contributions from overseas.

Nows, if you believe it is that simple, I can do nothing more than pray for you.

Spend more time investigating and using your brain reading between the lines!

Scaredmonkeys. Great name for a political web site! Just found ya, probably will not be back though. To much BS flying around.
