MSNBC’s Arrogent Lib Chris Matthews Says to Black Pastor on Gay Marriage: “I Hope You Evolve” (Video)

Chris Matthews, the MSNBC host who usually plays the race card and deems folks racist who do not agree with his opinion, has entered new and appalling territory. Matthews said to black pastor Bishop Harry Jackson, who opposes gay marriage,  … “I hope you evolve”. Really? So much for someone having a differing opinion and set of religious values. I guarantee if anyone on the Right made the comment to a black individual that I hope they evolve, would be called a racist.

Hardball anchor Chris Matthews, who routinely smears his political opponents as racist, on Monday lectured an African American minister who opposes gay marriage, “I hope you evolve.” The host patronizingly added, “I’m just teasing.” [See video below. MP3 audio here.] How would he (or MSNBC for that matter) react if a conservative said such a thing to a black leader?

From NewsBusters:

5:39

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Do you think he would have been chasing after the kid with long hair and cutting his hair or he would have been the one protecting the kid with long hair in high school?

BISHOP HARRY JACKSON: He would have been protecting the kid with long hair.

MATTHEWS: Right. I thought so. But you’re with the guy who was going after the kid with long hair.

JACKSON: No, no, no. I’m not necessarily with him right now.

MATTHEWS: Oh, you’re not with Romney?

JACKSON: I’m not with Romney at this point. I want to say something about righteousness and justice. The Bible talks very clearly about how righteousness, which is like personal morality and holiness. It also talks about justice. What’s broken in American politics is that the Democrats think they own social justice. The Republicans think they own righteousness, but the Bible doesn’t take righteousness or justice, it takes righteousness and justice.

5:43

JACKSON: Why not let the Muslims have polygamy and bigamy?

MATTHEWS: Mr. Bishop, I hope you evolve. Thank you very much. I’m just teasing.

JACKSON: That’s all right.

The position taken by President Barack Obama is going to hurt him dearly in the black churches. Now its up to the MSM to go after those blacks and demonize them.

I saw Mathews on Jeopardy last night. Does “dumber than a box of rocks” mean anything to you? One stupid question answer after another.

      So condescending!

… If someone doesn’t agree with my opinions it is because they are not “evolved” enough to understand them properly –

      The absolute height of arrogance!

      SM says,

“Now its up to the MSM to go after those blacks and demonize them.”

But, guess my question for today is—will they really?

My theory is, in today’s day and age-I don’t really believe that Obama will suffer too much for having condoned same sex marriages. He still did it in the lamest way possible, and if I were Gay, I would be pretty pissed at him right now and not elated.

I have read in the media about some of the posts some Gay (notable=Hollywood or Popular Personalities that just happen to be gay) had made…honestly, it was a little much.

Go have your Civil Unions and be happy, be done with it. Don’t expect my Federal or Local Government to dish out extra money and consider this a “legal” addition to the clearly defined and current “marital status”.

Being married means, a legal Union between a Man and Woman. Most importantly, this is how it is recognized in the eyes of God. Even when Jesus of Nazareth roamed the Earth, there were homosexuals.

So be it. I don’t judge. But, like many who post on here, I can read the Bible and it does not seem right to me that the entire religious sanctity of marriage is then changed when Sam marries Sam or Suzie marries Suzie.

That is not the way our Lord Jesus Christ intended it to be.

      Only my opinion.

      Thanks

Chris is stuck on the ‘diversion points’ put
out as chaff to obscure the real issues of
this Country that should be successfully
handled by the Obama Regime and are
NOT being handled successfully by the
      Obama Regime.

and of course we hetero’s are treating the institute of marriage like its sacred…whats the divorce percentage in the US (here its about 40%).

    6. NGBoston on May 16th, 2012 10:37 pm

#5- Dolf—Are you serious with that question? Why are you comparing divorce rates from US vs. the NL?

As far as “us hetero’s” treating the institute of marriage like it’s sacred, that is an whole different can of worms.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the point that Obama only made a public comment about his change of heart over same sex marriage STRICTLY as a POLITICAL move in the time of a re-election year and campaign for himself to garner votes from the GBLT community.

Here in the States, there are still many folks who are against homosexuality or same sex marriages but probably just as many who feel being gay and out about being gay is a “non-issue”.

I don’t understand what comparing divorce rates has to do with diddly.

Like I said, if I were Gay, I would tell Obama to stuff it because his motives are transparent and not genuine, IMO.

    7. Dolf on May 18th, 2012 3:16 am

@6…no I am not comparing (I don’t know the US divorce percentage), was asking how high it was.

That political move seems to have backfired at him (and I agree with you on it.

      Politicians and honesty….
