Sarah Dawn McKinley, an 18 year old widow, called 911 and asked the operator if she could shoot an intruder entering her home. Although the operator did not say yes, she did say do what ever you need to do to protect yourself and your baby. The also said that she could not shoot until they broke into the home. The end result … she shot Justin Shane Martin dead with her 12-gauge shot gun. Police called the shooting, “justified”. I’ll say. Thank God for the “Castle” doctrine.

Home alone with her 3-month-old son, Sarah Dawn McKinley of Blanchard, Oklahoma, said she decided to make a stand when two men tried to break into her home on New Year’s Eve.
McKinley, who had been widowed less than a week before, placed a couch in front of one door and went to the bedroom and put a bottle in her baby’s mouth before calling 911, she said on HLN’s “Dr. Drew” on Wednesday.
A 911 operator calmly spoke with McKinley, who asked if it was permissible to shoot an intruder, officials said.
“I’ve got two guns in my hand. Is it OK to shoot him if he comes in this door?” asked McKinley, 18.
“Well, you have to do whatever you can do to protect yourself,” dispatcher Diane Graham responded. “I can’t tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby.”
These two men actually stalked and attacked this 18 year old widow whose husband died Christmas Day of cancer. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Sarah McKinley says that a week earlier a man named Justin Martin dropped by on the day of her husband’s funeral, claiming that he was a neighbor who wanted to say hello. The 18-year-old Oklahoma City area woman did not let him into her home that day.
On New Year’s Eve Martin returned with another man, Dustin Stewart, and this time was armed with a 12-inch hunting knife. The two soon began trying to break into McKinley’s home.

Good for Sarah. Someone took the time to teach her how to shoot. It is too bad that she was not able to get the other POS and remove him from the planet.
This is just another example of how women must learn to protect themselves. Living some distance from town makes it hard for the police or sheriff’s deputies to get to the home quickly. Twenty-one minutes these perps banged on the doors trying to get inside.
I can’t help comparing Sara Dawn McKinley to Casey Anthony. Mrs. McKinly killed to protect her baby. Casey Anthony killed her baby. Caylee had no one to protect her.
How about the Hero of the Month? Bravo to this yung Mother for her composure when faced with a crisis,BRAVO to the Dispatcher in her response during the 911 call, and a huge BRAVO and ENCORE to the State of OK for then charging the accomplice with MURDER.
More States across our Nation should revise their laws to be written and enforced as they are in OK, so the rest of our Country could follow suit!
This story has started the New Year off on a good note for a change, where John or Joan Q.Public’s Rights are finally upheld by the US Constitution.
Wonder how many other women she saved from a terrible experience at the hands of that scum?

I’m a liberal and even I think this is great. I’m not a gun control liberal though. I believe in freedom for all within reason. Pot and guns are OK for private citizens to have, crack and nuclear weapons are not. The problem with some liberals is they fail to understand that unless something causes overwhelming harm to others it’s not the government’s place to simply “play the statistics” and outlaw it (especially since the government is so controlled by special interests that we can’t rely on them to make fair decisions about these kinds of things).
GOOD FOR OKLAHOMA AND HER! About time we hear of one incident that doesn’t end with a raped woman and dead child! And the law is NOT going against her! What strength does she have!!
Lucky that Mrs McKinley was not in California. She would be arrested, sentenced to prison, her child put in foster care, the criminals family would sue for wrongful death and win and the idiot California Senate and Assembly would pass another gun control law.
