Hope & Change for the Youth: A Meager 55% of Americans Between Ages 16 and 29 Have Jobs

The Youth has lost that Luvin’ Feeling …

A question to the youth of America that supported and campaigned for Barack Obama in 2008 … Hows that “Hopey, Changey” stuff working out for ya?  In 2008 the youth of America blindly followed the promises, rhetoric and bumper sticker slogans of Obama propelling him into office and actually believing that  “we are the ones that we have been waiting for.”

From 2008 to present day, the American youth has learned an inconvenient truth, Obama’s promise of hope, change and jobs was BS. They were repaid for their actions with no jobs. Talk about a buzz kill for any Obama reelection effort.  The youth will most likely stay home when it comes to Obama’s reelection and on election day. Presently, only 55% of Americans between the ages of 16 and 29 have jobs. As stated by Weasel Zippers, the economic train wreck rolls on.

In 2008, the youth vote helped sweep Barack Obama into office.  Americans 18-29 spread the word on social media, energized fundraising and went to the polls.

In 2012, the youth vote is moving on and throwing those omnipresent “Hope” bumper stickers and t-shirts in garbage bins.

Not because of apathy.  Not because another candidate generates more enthusiasm.  Not because of his character.  Not because they think voting is pointless.  The 18-29 vote is up for grabs in 2012 because youth can’t afford cars to put bumper stickers on and those t-shirts are worn out from too many days sitting on the couch unemployed.

Obama used these kids naivety in 2008 and since has done little to nothing to help the energetic, grass roots youth. Not only are barely 50% employed, earlier this year, Americans’ student loan debt surpassed credit card debt for the first time ever. Not to mention the continued increase in debt will be the responsibility you today’s and tomorrows youth. So what do the millennials say … NO BAMA! According to a recent Pew Research Center poll, only 49% of millennial voters approve of Barack Obama, down a whopping 23 points from February 2009.

But while 18-to-29 year-old Americans are reliable Democrats, their enthusiasm for Obama and presidential politics has waned, setting the stage for an uphill struggle to turn out the vote.

Forty-nine percent of millennial voters approve of Obama, according to the Pew Research Center, down 23 points from February 2009.  They are also the least interested in or engaged with the current campaign, the study found.

Only 17 percent of millennials said they are following election news closely, while just 13 percent said they’ve given a lot of thought to the candidates, a 15 point drop from the same period four years ago.

Barack Obama … 90 Rounds of Golf, But First Time Visiting Pearl Harbor Since Becoming President

PRIORITIES …

What is wrong with this picture? Barack Obama has played 90 rounds of golf;  however, his visit Thursday to Pear Harbor was the first time since becoming Commander in Chief. December 7, 2011 marked the 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the death of more than 2400 brave souls. However, President Obama was no where to be found. Yet, he manages to visit Peal Harbor for the first time in between rounds of golf and shaved ice with the family while on vacation in Hawaii. As fate would have it, there were reporters there, imagine that.

President Obama on Thursday evening made his first trip to Pearl Harbor since becoming commander in chief.

The president and first lady Michelle Obama visited the USS Arizona Memorial, where they observed a moment of silence in a room in which the names of crew members who died 70 years ago this month have been inscribed.

Obama, who visited the memorial before he was president in 2008, did not make any remarks at the memorial, according to a pool report. But he and the first lady dropped white and purple orchids into the sunken battleship.

What an example he has set as Commander in Chief. At some point this man will pay a political price for using the military as a political prop. Remember in November!

Pelosi’s Daughter Says She Wants (Prefers) to Retire … Now Pelosi’s Office Says Daughter is Wrong when she Says the California Democrat wants to Leave Politics

This has all the making of a 1970′s Miller Lite Beer commercial with the former and dearly departed Yankees manager Billy Martin and owner George Steinbrenner.

Just the other day it was reported by Big Government that Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi said her mother wants to leave Congress and that she remains in Washington only at the behest of her campaign donors. Of course my first thought was, wow, what a martyr Pelosi is. Heavy is the crown that Pelosi wears.  Pelosi borrows a line from God Father III, “Just when I thought I was out…they pull me back in.”

She would retire right now, if the donors she has didn’t want her to stay so badly. They know she wants to leave, though. They think she’s destined for the wilderness. She has very few days left. She’s 71, she wants to have a life, she’s done. It’s obligation, that’s all I’m saying.

There are many of us that want her to retire right now as well.

Well, looks like the news has hit Nancy Peloi’s $10,000 a night hotel room in Hawaii. A spokesman for Democrat House Minority Leader Pelosi says that the story just is not true. How could Pelosi think of leaving Congress, how would she be able to use inside government information to make stock trades? Outside of the Beltway, this would be a crime.

However, the point could be moot after the 2012 elections if Democrats lose even more seats in the House, the GOP regains control of the Senate and Obama loses reelection. If any one, two or all three of these things occur, Democrats are going to have to go a different direction in leadership. It is hard to imagine that Pelosi would stay in Congress as just a back bencher.

Nadeam Elshami, a spokesman for the House minority leader, said it’s simply not true.

“This may be wishful thinking on the part of a right-wing blog, but it is totally untrue,” Elshami said. “When the day comes and Leader Pelosi’s work is done, she won’t be announcing it there.”

Alexandra Pelosi didn’t deny uttering the remark but declined to expand in an email to POLITICO.

One way or another, if Dems lose control of the Senate, Obama loses or the House goes further Republican … Democrats will look for new leadership in the House and Nancy Pelosi will retire.

Americans see President Obama as the Farthest Candidate from Them Ideologically Including All Republicans

Barack Obama … the most out of touch candidate for American ideology …

According to a recent Gallup poll should cause yet more concern for President Barack Obama for the 2012 elections. Americans see Obama as the farthest candidate from them ideologically than any of the GOP primary candidates. Should this really come as a surprise as Barack Obama is the most liberal and polarizing President ever elected. Although many Americans are not not sure of some of the Republican candidates, they have had three years to figure out exactly what Obama’s ideology is. 57% consider Obama vet liberal/liberal, while 15% polled were smoking crack stating that Obama was very conservative/conservative. If Obama has not yet convinced America that he is not “very liberal” at this point, it is a lost cause. America knows exactly what Barack Obama is and stands for, there is no fooling the public like 2008.

What should further trouble Obama is that Independents consider Obama the farthest away from their ideology as well.  As for Republicans, enough said. However, just how out of touch are Democrats with the main stream of society? They think Barack Obama is spot on with their ideology.

This is coupled with other polling data showing Obama loses a hypothetical match up with Mitt Romney 45% to 39%.

UPDATE I: Barack Obama’s job approval rating back down to 41% approval – 50% disapproval as per Gallup!
