Return to Camelot: Jackie Onassis Tapes Tell That She Thought Lyndon B. Johnson killed JFK

Assassinations, affairs and conspiracies, Oh My …

Remember the good old days of Camelot and the Kennedy’s? Well the UK Daily Mail has a bombshell of an article from Jackie O tapes that she believed that LBJ was involved in a conspiracy to assassinate JFK. Maybe we can expect another Oliver Stone movie, JFK II, the conspiracy behind the conspiracy.

Jackie Onassis believed that Lyndon B Johnson and a cabal of Texas tycoons were involved in the assassination of her husband John F Kennedy, ‘explosive’ recordings are set to reveal.

The secret tapes will show that the former first lady felt that her husband’s successor was at the heart of the plot to murder him.

She became convinced that the then vice president, along with businessmen in the South, had orchestrated the Dallas shooting, with gunman Lee Harvey Oswald – long claimed to have been a lone assassin – merely part of a much larger conspiracy.

According to accounts, the tapes were recorded in 1963 with leading historian Arthur Schlesinger. Jackie O had asked that the tapes not be released until 50 years after her death. It’s hard to believe its been 17 years since Jackie passed from cancer. There is nothing like a Kennedy conspiracy to capture the news and the attention of so many after so many years.

The tapes were recorded with leading historian Arthur Schlesinger Jnr within months of the assassination on November 22, 1963, and had been sealed in a vault at the Kennedy Library in Boston.

The then Mrs Kennedy, who went on to marry Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, had ordered that they should not be released until  50 years after her death, with some reports suggesting she feared that her revelations might make her family targets for revenge.

She hit it right on the head I.O.P., I did a lot of research on this one, and that was who I came up with, but we will never know for sure until somebody involved tells the truth.

Jackie O: A very beatiful, intellegent woman who did more than her share to keep a weeping nation intact with the style and grace of not only a loving and protective mother, but a queen. We all suspected that LBJ was behind the assassination, but she above all others, tried to put those suspicions out of our minds… perhaps out of fear for her life and that of her family. She became and remained a private person for years, sharing only glimpses of her broken life with an admiring public who always held her in the highest regard.

Jackie was there, front center and behind the scenes juggling motherhood and politics like no other could. Respected in high regard among the most powerful world leaders of her time, she touched us all. And, she above all others would have been instinctively aware of the threats and dangers faced by her.husband and brother in law, Bobby, who valiantly fought and brought down the most notorious organized crime bosses of their time. Sad to think that a President who hated corruption would fall at the hand of a comrad who secretly schemed against him. Ironic that while our president was working to keep us safe from street thugs should take a death dealing blow from a group of corporate thugs dressed in suit and tie, but just as lethal.

No doubt if they could warn us, today, they would sound the alarm of a corruption that works from within… not for the protection of its people, but to their detriment driven by greed.

God bless the Kennedys, past and present. But, most of all Jackie O who never wasted her breath boasting about the prospect of a great society, but lived it. There never was a more kind and giving person!

      Rest in Peace, Our Lady…

She had good reason to think that.

wow. My dad told me a long, time ago he always figured LB was behind it because he wanted to be president and wasn’t such an “upright” man. I was somewhat surprised to see this accusation in print.

Wow, I’m surprised that so many think LBJ had something to do with JFK’s assassination. My husband has said the same thing, and I acted as if he were crazy. What do I know?

I’ve told this story hundreds of times, but I was in grade school when JFK was killed. The teachers took us into a big auditorium, started a safety movie called Handy Dan. About half way into the film, they stopped it and said that the President had been shot in Dallas. A little kid who was a behavior problem jumped to his feet and shouted at the top of his lungs, “What did LBJ want to do that for?”

That has always stuck with me, and if you read about LBJ’s connections with Yarbrough and Billy Sol Estes, it really makes you wonder.

Everyone I have told the story to always laughs, and then says, “that kid might be right.”

His own lawyer said he did it! He also said that a psychiatrist came to Lyndon’s home once a week for the last year of his life and he claims that the psychiatrist was paid one million dollars to keep quite. I wonder what they talked about? And Jack wasn’t the only individual “Lyin Lyndon” had done.
      Peace!

I don’t agree with Oliver Stone 99.99% of the time but I agree with his assessment of what happened based on the movie JFK…

The mafia along with CIA and the Cubans killed him. There are too many things that happened…Woody Harleson’s dad who was a mafia member was one of the bums that were photographed in the area that day.

JFK and RFK wanted to shut down the casinos in Cuba that were owned by the mafia; most notably boss Trificante who ALSO claimed on his death bed he was partly responsible for JFK’s death.

Waterboy – please; how would a kid in elementary school say something like that?

Careful all you Jackie worshippers, because there are a bunch of her letters to President Johnson out there where she demonstrates a kind of weird Daddy-worshipful tone and she sweetly thanks him for his many kindnesses after the assassination. Really. Maybe she was in on something;-) with all the screwing around on her that Jack did. Still, it was ghastly to be riding in a car and nearly get blown apart by snipers.
