RSSGallup Poll: Barack Obama back Under 50% Job Approval Rating … Suddenly Obama for Oil Drilling, “Drill, Baby, Drill”
That didn’t take long … President Barack Obama’s job approval rating back under 50%.
According to the most recent Gallup poll, Barack Obama has a job approval rating of 48%, while 45% disapprove. The bounce appears to be over and it back to reality. The US economy is headed the wrong direction, unemployment is at 9.0% and gas prices rising. Rasmussen has Obama at a 48% job approval and 51% disapproval.
It should be no surprise that suddenly Obama has made another flip-flop and is for oil drilling. Wow, how long will it take before he takes credit for “Drill, Baby, Drill” ? Next thing we know, toy companies will be making roughneck Obama, the oil drilling dude. Hmm, I thought there was no silver bullet Barack? There are two real questions, one, will Obama actually drill and two, will he give the credit to Sarah Palin?
Reporting from Washington— President Obama will open Alaska’s national petroleum reserve to new drilling, as part of a broad plan aimed at blunting criticism that he is not doing enough to address rising energy prices.
The plan, unveiled in Obama’s weekly radio address Saturday, also would fast-track environmental assessment of petroleum exploration in some portions of the Atlantic and extend the leases of oil companies whose work in the Gulf of Mexico and the Arctic Ocean was interrupted by the drilling moratorium after last year’s BP oil spill.
Wasn’t it just last year that Obama said that we cannot drill our way out of the problem and that is why you never heard him say, “drill, baby, drill”.

Obviously his poll numbers are threatened by the high gas prices and the reactionary, flip-flopping president now must she he is the “Oil Drilling” president. Now he unveils an oil drilling plan, what about that green energy Barack? This President could care less about new drilling, he cares about his poll numbers and reelection. Why did he wait this long to present such an energy plan? Barack Obama stood in the way of oil exploration and actually harmed it. Now, he says drill. Plueze!

This is all political speech. He will talk about drilling while he instructs the EPA to drag their feet in issuing permits.
Of course he will take full credit for the slogan. He steals from everyone else, so why not from Sara?
IMO we need to find alternatives and stop relying on oil as our primary energy source… its too bad we all can’t see the bigger picture that in our quest for money and power we have come to destroy the earth, the seas and the air we breath. One can only hope that there be divine intervention soon as man has ruled over himself to his own detriment. Oneness in perfect balance and harmony with all that surrounds us is not a dream, but rather, a promise. Collectively, let us live with our hearts set on eternity instead of short term profits. Benefit yourselves and bless the children that, until that promise is fulfilled, we can provide the things they need to live. Look within for answers for we have come to know, long ago, answers don’t lie within the crooked mouths of politicians.

SM: There is nothing wrong to finding other alternatives; however, we are not even close to that. An energy plan needs to make sense. Not sure what you are referring to in your post, do you think we are killing the earth & children now? Got any proof? Please not not say global warming.
The US since the 70′s has needed a comprehensive energy plan that was not some moronic political agenda of oil is evil. There needs to be a plan that makes us an independent of Middle East oil as we can be. That means we drill for oil and natural gas in the US, nuclear, hydro, clean coal and any other means. All ideas are welcome, however, the govt (tax payers) should not have to subsidize losers just because some one has a green political agenda.
We fought a War of Independence in this country, there is no reason why we should not do the same for energy. Its a matter of national security and our economy.

I thought Sarah was pushing for ANWR drilling, not the national oil reserve?
My sense of geography admittedly falls off a cliff when we are talking about Alaska; even looking a map doesn’t help get a sense of the vastness of it all.

He certainly against drilling as concept, but it was ANWR that Sarah was pushing so hard for.
As for first time “ever”, didn’t he announce this same announcement about a year ago (March 2010) and I think you all called him out on it then, too.
But yes, this is a reversal and something he obviously doesn’t want to do; and he can always change his mind later if he wants to.

Couldn’t agree more that this is just another lie from the Ly’in King. On a different note I did notice the background he is using for his speech. I received an email about this very thing and did not pay any attention to it until you posted this video. He is using a middle eastern type drape behind him instead of the traditional US flags that previous Real presidents used. I thought the email was just more BS until I saw this video.
obama will say or do anything to steal an election. we saw this the first time and i don’t expect any less criminal activity nor any less cowardly back jumping of Sarah Palin and her family. democrats are yellow cowards and inherently criminal.

a note on your side topic, the video you are referencing is from “The East Room” and the drapes that he is standing in front of are not new.
According to the website truthorfiction, “those golden drapes were replaced in 2003 during the Bush administration. The pattern of the drapes is not Arabic symbols but angles, doves and olive branches. ”
And there are pictures of Bush in front of them as well.
