The Divider in Chief: Obama Uses False Information for Minnesota Bridge Collapse to Push Political Agenda for More Taxes

Barack Obama cannot get any more offensive, or can it? OBAMA, THE DIVIDER … IS THIS REALLY WHAT AMERICA NEEDS?

The President is in full campaign mode and once again just like when he was candidate Obama, the truth means nothing. In a speech yesterday at a Town Hall meeting at Northern Virginia Community College in Annadale, VA.  Barack Obama referenced the bridge collapse in Minnesota as a reason to not raise taxes to get funds for transportation infrastructure. Obama condemned the GOP plan to cut the transportation department by 1/3. In doing so he said that there would be more pot holes and bridge collapses.

LIAR.

As pointed out by Hot Air, to suggest that the Minnesota bridge collapse was a result of a lack of spending is a lie and offensive. However, the Minnesota bridge collapse had to be with structural design, according to the National Transportation Board. Can anything Barack Obama says be believed?  This is just a flat out lie to use the deaths of Americans in a terrible bridge collapse for his political agenda. Sick, just SICK!

If his lips are moving, can a lie be not far behind?

But being from Minneapolis, the implication that the St. Anthony Falls bridge collapse in August 2007 had to do with infrastructure spending isn’t just ignorant of basic civics, it’s downright false and offensive (via Greg Hengler)

Is this the “Hope & Change” that we were promised by Obama … LIES. FLAT OUT LIES!

More from NRO … was this a purposeful swing at GOP Presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty? What, Obama make a debt crisis in America and the country going bankrupt political? Oh, never.

Talk about changing times for Obama in 2011 as compared to 2008. Even CBS News pointed out that President Barack Obama was pretty much lying when he used a cause and affect of lack of infrastructure spending for the bridge collapse.

“According to the Republican budget that was passed, for example, we would have to eliminate transportation funding by a third,” he said. “…You remember when that bridge in Minnesota collapsed with all those people on it and there was a big hue and cry, how could this happen in America?”

Mr. Obama noted that the United States has been given a “D” grade for its infrastructure and said U.S. roads, sewers and bridges are “all deteriorating.” He added: “We cut transportation by another third and what’s going to happen to America? We’re just going to have potholes everywhere? We’re just gonna have bridges collapsing everywhere?”

While experts say America’s aging infrastructure is a significant problem, the bridge collapse in Minnesota, which killed 13 people, was found to have been caused primarily by a design flaw.

Could a President possible pander more to the youth of America? The mean GOP will take away your Pell grants and force you to work. As if this President was not previously shameful enough, now that he is in 100% campaign mode … Obama will make the GOP more evil than radical terrorists, if he can make himself say the word.

2012 cannot come fast enough and Obama needs to go. There is no room for a US President to be this hateful and divisive. OBAMA MUST GO.

Every media outlet in the country should be doing just what SM has done. Call out the “liar in chief”

Unfortunately, the young people in this country are easily swayed by a smooth talking fool.

The bridge collapsed due to a design flaw, but it was a flaw that was known about before the collapse and it could have been fixed (or more likely condemned and rebuilt).

If the transportation budget is radically cut, it is only obvious that a drop in service should be expected. One would hope that life-threatening bridges would still maintained, but something would have to give in order to fund the bridges…such at potholes or sewers.

Sure the bit about bridges is a scare tactic, but not sure why you call it hateful.

We do have to cut somewhere….and we do have to be aware of the ramifications of the cuts that we do make.

Gosh, when we discover that the guy we hired to
manage our Constitutional edicts turns out to be
a simple (and I do mean ‘simple’) liar, it is time
to replace him with someone both truthful and
qualified for that kind of trust. Wonder what
percentage of our voters are aware of this fellow’s
      swerving out of bounds?

Yep, a design flaw. Had the DOT being doing their job, millions would never have been spent on a bridge with a design flaw. Infrastructure spending is NOT the reason the bridge wasn’t fixed. In fact, the bridge was being worked on at the time. If the government had been doing its job, the bridge would have been properly closed. However, they took a political bet and lost – at the expense of people’s lives.

None of this changes the fact that BHO did what he does best – lied about the facts for political gain. He does it over and over and over again.

Yet he spent hundreds of million of US taxpayer dollars to repair the sewage system of Cairo because it was threatening to damage a mosque. Why couldn’t that have been spent here? Nevermind, I know the answer.

    7. Waterboy on April 20th, 2011 10:13 pm

Why when he looked at what he paid in taxes, did he not just pay more? He only paid 26.7% when he should have paid no less than 35%, not counting social security, and Medicare’s 3%.

Why didn’t he pay taxes on his health insurance that is provided to him, like he wants use to do?

Why didn’t he pay taxes on transportation cost that were not related to his job, like he makes us do? Who pays for your vacations? Who pays for your food?

Does he just hate America and our Constitution? He must.

Obama reminds me of this girl in high school that would start these horrible rumors about people. They would spread through the school like wildfire.

Most of the time the rumor started with only a minute part of truth, and sometimes it was completely fabricated.

Obama is a master of the minute truth lie.

It was being worked on, but for resurfacing and lighting upgrades not the correction of the underlying problem.

I doubt that the the decision to take the risk on not closing the bridge was political but a more mundane lack of understanding of the true scope of the issue; hindsight is all too clear in these situations.

BUT, if we want to press to “political bet and lost” issue, MN/DOT was responsible for the inspections, which was under the political control of Tim Pawlenty.

wait..a politician using something for political gain?

yes…a thing only the dems to do…..

SM: Dolf come on, you are losing street cred. Using the deaths of people for political gain is beyond sick. People did not die from a lack of spending, they did so because of a design flaw and Obama knows it.

      LIAR in Chief.

    13. Dolf on April 22nd, 2011 11:32 am

      it is beyond sick.

      and both sides do it

How many politicians used the 9/11 tragedy?

He does raise a good point. What will happen to the infrastructure when the budget is sliced.
and what happened to his whole campaign idea that to combat the crsis he would invest big time into infrastructure (which would have been better then the way he handled it now)?
      ________________
SM: he raises no point, just wants to spend money like a drunken sailor. Then again, drunk sailors at least spend their own money. I guess you forgot Dolf that the $787 billion stimulus $’s was to go to such “shovel” ready jobs like infrastructure. Sorry, all these bastards want to do is spend money they dont have and tax us more to promote their irresponsible spending habits.

BTW Dolf, it is ok to admit that most Lib Democrats use death for their political agenda. I guess you have also forgot the Wellstone memorial.

This post is about a liberal scum who used a special needs child to mock in a post. That is beyond sick.
