Nato air strike in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, has killed the son of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, a government spokesman has said.

Colonel Gaddafi himself was in the large residential villa which was hit by the strike, the spokesman added, but was unharmed.

His son Saif al-Arab was said to be killed, as well as three grandchildren.

Nato said it had struck a “known command and control building in the Bab al-Azizya neighbourhood”.

A Nato spokesman said that the air strikes were aimed at military targets not individuals.

Lt. Gen. Charles Bouchard, commander of NATO’s military operations, said in a statement:

“We regret all loss of life, especially the innocent civilians being harmed as a result of this ongoing conflict,” Bouchard said. “NATO is fulfilling its U.N. mandate to stop and prevent attacks against civilians with precision and care — unlike Gadhafi’s forces, which are causing so much suffering.”

Governor Jan Brewer Signs Bill Authorizing Mexican-US Border Fence Built in Arizona

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has signed a bill into law that would authorize a security fence to be built in Arizona along the US-Mexican border. What are the odds that Obama will have AG Eric Holder sue Arizona for having the audacity to securing the border.

A bill signed into law by Gov. Jan Brewer authorizes erection of a security fence along Arizona’s portion of the U.S.-Mexico border, either in a compact with other states or by itself.

Spokesman Matt Benson declined immediate comment Friday on why Brewer signed the bill Thursday and on whether she plans to invoke the authority.

The bill does not specify a cost or make an appropriation but says the state would use donations, inmate labor and private contractors.

22 Year Old UMASS (Boston) College Student Brendan Davis Missing Since 4/26 from Boston (Update: No Longer Missing)

22 year old Brendan Davis, a computer science major at the University of Massachusetts Boston, has been missing in Boston, MA since Tuesday, April 26, 2011 when he was last seen at Jacob Wirth’s bar at 31-37 Stuart St. in the Theater District at about 11:15 pm.  According to reports, Brendon Davis has not used his cellphone, bank card or social media since early Wednesday.

Brendon Davis: My Fox Boston

Brendan Davis description:

  • 6-feet 3-inches tall
  • brown hair
  • brown eyes
  • 190 pounds
  • possibly wearing a gray fedora and gray Boston Red Sox hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans

As reported at Boston.com, Brendan Davis sent two mysterious letters to friends before he was reported missing. The letters were strange indeed that showed that Davis planned not to be around.

The parents were contacted by two of their son’s friends, who each said they received a strange letter from Brendan Wednesday. They arrived in Boston Friday morning and filed a police report, Caralyn Davis said.  The letters were sent by priority mail and post-marked Tuesday.

One of the missives, sent to an ex-girlfriend, said only that she should take care of his two cats, Davis’s mother said. The other letter, sent to a friend and containing house keys, said that his Back Bay apartment was paid for through May and that the friend should use it as a “summer place,” Caralyn said in a phone interview.

“He didn’t really say he was going away,” Caralyn Davis said. “He just indicated that he wasn’t going to be at the apartment.”

Texas Bill Gaining Momentum to Make TSA Intentional Groping a Felony

For every action, there is a reaction … and the TSA pat downs are about to get a backlash of reaction.

A bill in the  Texas legislature is gaining momentum that would make it a felony for TSA agents to intentionally grope and touch an individuals private areas without probably cause. The TSA has recently come under fire for a multitude of bad PR as they have had videos of the groping of old and young alike. What a novel concept, to have probably cause in order to perform a search, isn’t that what the 4th Amendment was supposed to address?

Does anyone not think that the above pat down of a 6 year old girl was not a felony?

The bill would make it illegal for a security officer to intentionally touch someone’s private areas — even atop clothing — unless they have probable cause to believe the person is carrying something illegal.

Bill sponsor State Rep. David Simpson says the searches are removing people’s dignity.

Recently, a former Miss USA  claimed she was groped during a pat-down at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. If this bill passes into law, such a groping would be considered a felony. State Rep. David Simpson, R-Longview, who sponsored the bill made the following comment:

State Rep. David Simpson, R-Longview, who sponsored the bill, said Friday that the invasive pat-down searches at airports nationwide are a violation of the Fourth Amendment, which prohibits unreasonable searches. Last fall the Transportation Security Administration implemented a new pat-down procedure that includes a security worker running a hand up the inside of passengers’ legs and along the cheek of the buttocks, as well as making direct contact with the groin area.

“We’re taking away people’s dignity and freedom,” said Simpson.

Obama Economic Recovery: 29% of Americans Say We are in a Depression in 2011

Thank you, President Barack Obama …

According to a recent April 2011 Gallup poll, 29% of Americans believe we are in an economic depression. When will Obama learn that perception means everything and the American people think that the economy is a catastrophe. Not only do 29% believe we are in a depression, but another 26% believe the economy is in a recession. What does this mean? Barack Obama’s minions and the state run media have failed to spin the economic recovery. As reported at the IB Times, is it a fake recovery and have Americans lost faith in the economy?

Are the American people losing faith in the U.S. economy? The statistics that you are about to read might surprise you. Not everyone believes that the U.S. economy is dying (there are still millions out there that will swallow anything that the mainstream media tells them), but the reality is that there is a growing chunk of the population that has completely lost faith in our leaders and in our economic system. A brand new Gallup poll has found that the number of Americans that believe that we are in a “depression” is actually larger than the number of Americans that believe that the economy is “growing”.

This is Barack Obama’s worst nightmare in a reelection bid in 2011. Keep in mind that Obama’s job approval numbers are below 50%, which is a negative indicator for any incumbent. Obama’s handling of the economy is even worse. The price of gas continues to rise to the $5 and $6 a gallon mark which will only further cause “The One’s” poll numbers to slide. Making matters even worse for Obama is that 67.5% of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track.
