Even Bill Clinton Thinks There are “Ridiculous Delays” in Obama’s Admin Issuing Offshore Drilling Permits
Even Bill Clinton thinks Obama is delaying deep water drilling and hurting the economy.
How bad is the Obama administration in messing with the economy and delaying the issuing of offshore drilling permits? Even former Democrat President William Clinton is slamming Obama for their “ridiculous delays”. At a IHS CERAWeek conference, Bill Clinton agreed with former Republican President George W. Bush on many oil and gas issues, including the the fact that there were “ridiculous delays in permitting when our economy doesn’t need it.”
It isn’t the first time that Clinton called Obama ridiculous
Former President Bill Clinton said Friday that delays in offshore oil and gas drilling permits are “ridiculous” at a time when the economy is still rebuilding, according to attendees at the IHS CERAWeek conference.
Clinton spoke on a panel with former President George W. Bush that was closed to the media. Video of their moderated talk with IHS CERA Chairman Daniel Yergin was also prohibited.
But according to multiple people in the room, Clinton, surprisingly, agreed with Bush on many oil and gas issues, including criticism of delays in permitting offshore since last year’s Gulf of Mexico spill.
“Bush said all the things you’d expect him to say” on oil and gas issues, said Jim Noe, senior vice president at Hercules Offshore and executive director of the pro-drilling Shallow Water Energy Security Coalition. But Clinton added, “You’d be surprised to know that I agree with all that,” according to Noe and others in the room.
Clinton said there are “ridiculous delays in permitting when our economy doesn’t need it,” according to Noe and others.
As the Zippers of the Weasel variety state, you know its bad for Barack Obama when Bill Clinton is on the side of the GOP. Obama is also against the will of the majority of Americans who oppose his ban on deep ocean drilling.
Barack Obama tried to divert attention away from himself with the rise of gas prices and his admins continued battle to delay the permits of deep oil drilling by stating the following, “So any notion that my administration has shut down oil production might make a good political sound bite, but it doesn’t match up with reality.” Really Mr. President, then why is Bill Clinton calling your delays ridiculous as well? In the end, the result of what Obama is doing is affecting US energy independence and creating jobs.
Yet another issue for the 2012 elections.
